Ironically, I'm sitting on the "throne" with a movement/dump of my own in progress as I submit this post.
An unplanned, yet befitting coincidence which quite nicely parallels this latest CPD rumor.
As long as Carothers is still a commander it will all be meaningless. It will show that the Sup has no real power and that the politcal corruption in this city is still the foundation of it all.

I'll second that, he needs to be in a district to learn the responsibilities of a lieutenant. He was meritoriously promoted Lt as a Sgt. and then immediately returned to swat after LT. School and it wasn't because of his experience in swat it was only because of Danny Dugan

So Crothers is a Commander who is the Executive Officer to the Deputy Chief of Area 4. If you've only read some of the comments about John, they certainly paint a warm and wondeful image of a well liked, respected, appreciated man. Sadly, he was the last of a dying-some may argue dead-breed. A man's man who shared his smile, life, advice, and time with anyone and everyone equally.
This post is the first of its kind. No bullshit, no bickering, no slams; just honest, heart felt memories of a great man. This is how one of ours should always be remembered.
John, thank you for making this department more enjoyable. Thank you for your selfless dedication to us. This department lost a valuable asset. I can only hope the bosses of now read this and learn from it. Leadership doesn't come from a reverand, a politician, clout or cronyism. it comes from within.

I wish some of you people would know what you are talking about before commenting. An XO can be any rank above Lt. And you retain the pay grade when appointed an XO. So Carothers is an XO at Commanders pay. Joe Patterson is an XO at Deputy Chiefs pay.
