Mobile Field Force order is out. They start training on the 14th of Feb. All 19 of them. 2 Sgts. and 17 PO's. Not sure what they were thinking.

Seemed pretty mild to me. Not especially creative either. If that is enough to provoke a person, that person seriously needs anger management help.

So how much truth is there to the department having various units/teams hours adjusted so they CAN'T clock in for court? Guys that had 0930 starts now start at 0900. No quick 3 hours for you anymore.
Also, I was told whole teams have a cap as to how many overtime hours they can work, with any additional hours being forced as CU.
I've heard this from a handful of people. If true, it's yet another reason to not volunteer for shit. Guys jumping through hoops, risking life, limb, assets and freedom to bring in numbers for a bunch of assholes that will be the first to abandon ship when the shit hits the fan.
Also heard that the new guys were brought over to Fugitive Apprehension under the guise it's still run the old school way, only to be handed a list of a district's 'Most Wanted' and told to "go get 'em". A certain few of the clouted got take home cars, but not all like the old days.
Take away perks, limit your overtime cash and confine you to the two or three hotspots of the week as declared by a group of incompetent Brassholes that probably haven't seen the inside of a ghetto district beat car in years, IF EVER.
I absolutely can't wait to see this list of sellout bonestrokes that signed up for MFF. It needs to be published just like when there are movements/promotions within the department. This way, we can all document the evolution of clout. There's no doubt some of these goofs were told signing up for this nonsense would benefit them at a later time.

What's funny is you guys all ran to sign up for fugitive apprehension unit, if you don't think every unit no matter what the name is will not get messed with and dumped in the ghetto you are a idiot. Any unit that requires you to waive your rgts or seniority for watches or districts is a unit to stay away from as soon as they start that unit they can disband and put you wherever they want. Think people it's not brain surgery, make up a bunch of cool units then after a period disband and you have a bunch of officers to do what you want with.

CPD and the FOP should be hiring camerapeople and stationing them all around these protesters, to capture everything they do.
Like you said, SCC, we know that the protestors will be filming and editing everything, in order to collect when they then sue you.
I'm not a cop, so it's entirely possible plans for your side to film are already on the way, but given what I've heard & read about all the other prep for G8, I highly doubt it.
But there is no reason you can't hire a dozen camera crews with HD cameras & long range mics to document everything. Could be the best $50k - $100k the FOP ever spends. Conversely, you could also document & sell to the city all the property damage done by these anarchists, in order to sue them right back.

So criminals who are arrested can record our conversation but we can't record the same conversationwithout a court order(and if we did it's a felony).
Even a person who is not a party to the conversation will be authorized to record a private conversation an officer is having with a victim or a witness.
