Cutting Crime
A person was fatally shot by a homeowner during an alleged home invasion this morning in rural LaSalle County, police said.
According to a press release from the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, the police were notified about 3 a.m. of an alleged home invasion on County Highway One south of Earlville.
Two individuals reportedly entered the residence, the release said. One was shot by the homeowner; that person was transported to Mendota Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.

Another happy ending. This homeowner was able to protect his home and family with his weapon. Just like the Founding Fathers wanted.
Good riddance!! One down...
Yes! I love a story with a happy ending. Attention all politicians: Most people prefer THIS brand of social justice. With all of the problems in this democratic mecca state, you have some nit wit state representative and Mike Flannery who think a $5 cover charge at strip clubs for abused woman counselling is genious. I propose a state bounty on felons in the act of felony is a better idea for women and children. We will make our community safer with law abiding gun owners. Why is that hard to understand for the liberal mind?
Good riddance.
Geez whata beautiful story!

Good shooting homeowner. Time to thin the thug herd.
Wait a minute SCC, do you mean to tell me that the Founding Fathers wanted us to have guns to protect ourselves???
According to the Democrat Party, the term "bear arms" was in reference to the Quaker ideals of the time that did not allow one to expose skin from below the shoulder to above the wrist, henceforth the freedom to wear sleeveless garments.
I might now have to go back and review all the amendments to see what their original meaning actually was.
ok....consider this....
lets say, i'm a civilian, legal firearms owner. There is a home invasion, and I shoot and kill the intruder. The LEOs show up and although its pretty obvious what has happened. I decline to talk until I get with my lawyer.
How should I expect to be treated?
Now that is how you supposed to handle crime in this country!
VIVA "Carry and Conceal"!
This is the best way to cut taxes! Eliminate the Welfare entitled, mother fuckers!
Da Pelon!
Ahhh. Smells like justice
Get some.
OT - I see that you have taken down Bill's address and changed it to "Good Luck". Does that mean he is home now?
I had been writing to him all along and always received replies. He never responded to the letters I sent to Chicago. Either he didn't get them or was too busy to respond.
If possible. please give an update.
Thank you...a wife (now retired)
The Trib breaking news story called the dead perp a "victim"-again.
i have some family in Earville. Cooter
Oxymoron: liberal mind.
this guy wasn't a hair gel
Ya just gotta love this line from the Libune:
"According to the release, police are still attempting to identify both the victim and the suspect in custody."
WTF?!?!? The "victim" was the homeowner, not the shithead that is ASt {assuming room teperature.
So if I fall into this unfortunate situation and because I don't have an extra $100+ or the time to go to the south side(4770 S. Kedzie Avenue) for my city permit. Will it realistically be an issue?
Wooo hooo. Good shooting. Time for the perp to take his permanent dirt nap.

not if you use your basement/crawlspace wisely.
WSPY reported that the homeowner was also growing weed in his basement, perhaps the nexus of the home invasion. Homeowner is in custody for that....

why do you ask?

There's always the possibility you encounter a douchebag. The CPD is a big group and all of them are cops.
That said, based on my own experiences, very few of them are naive about how 'the system' works and you'd have to be the unluckiest SOB on earth to run into a Chicago Cop who is pro shithead/anti citizen when it comes to self defense. This isn't New York.
It's been written over and over again in the firearms press, the right course of action in a case of lethal self defense is to politely declare that given the severity of the situation, you would prefer to consult with an attorney before giving any statement.
I'd bet my eye teeth that virtually any detective would understand that.
It's been mentioned that certain area four commander in his quest to be in the good graces of the supt is approving multiple clear ups that are dubious at best. Hope it doesn't come back to bite the detectives. But got to kill crime and look good at coomstat.
Look closer....sounds more like a drug rip gone bad. Homeowner in jail on drug charges.
How dare you SCC! Compstat is the bomb!!! It really, really works! Bwahahahahaha!
So solly. 'Homeowner' was cultivating weed in the basement. More than meets the eye here.
Channel 7 just had a "special segment" and talked about Toroto summit bullshit, they spent over 800 MILLION for security, and had fencing to keep the jagoffs out,but in shitcago we won't have that barrier and will be open for business! Tomorrow channel 7 has part 2 with all the rioting! Rahmbo you fucked the taxpayers and police bigtime, the blood will be on your hands!
I like a story with a happy ending. Methinks the second asswipe probably dumped in his trunks while running.
Good for the homeowner.
O/T,
Take a look at this link,
http://cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/crime/2012/02/20/pkg-mn-police-standoff.wcco.html
without camera, criminal's family would sue to wrongful tazer, with camera officers get awards..

Commander, or commanding officer? Is it the attorney who arrived from area three?
Chicago endangers is citizens and puts their life and limb at risk with illegal gun laws.

Well, uh...heard on the radio this morning that the homeowner has now been arrested. The police found marijuana growing in his basement when they came to the house.
You never seem to hear about successful home defense by decent people. They don't want to give 'em any ideas...
