- A Chicago Police officer falsely reported a raucous bar fight so he could avoid a possible DUI arrest and flee the scene in northwest suburban Niles, Cook County prosecutors said Wednesday.
This occurred in November of 2010 and is just now being prosecuted? And in the intervening time, this softball racked up another DUI in September of 2011 and plead guilty?

A teacher, a nurse or a firefighter would not lose their jobs over this. I am a Police Officer and I know I am held to a higher standard. I think highly of teachers, nurses, firefighters, the Niles P.D. as well of others no matter what they do for a living.

Met him after he was stripped and the guy was so arrogant and acted like he couldn't believe someone would do this to him. Didn't seem to take any blame at all. He made us all look like jerks to Niles by insulting them after being arrested. I think his problem is he has way too much clout who need to tell him they are done with him and get some help because either he is an idiot or has a serious drinking problem.

I grew up with Dailey and he has been a fuck up his whole life. Should have never been allowed to become a cop but his dad was a commander and was always able to get him out of his bullshit. He definitely should be kept on administrative leave the rest of his career if he is allowed to keep his job. I'm sure that the internal affairs division has a huge file on him for his short time on the job but what I don't understand is how he is allowed to open up a bar in Norwood Park, have a major financial interest in it, and be able to work there too. Aren't cops not allowed to work at bars let alone own one? I'm sure he is being watched and they are just building a case against him. Just like the way he gets contracts for his B.S. security company. Typical Chicago Way. Maybe the media should go to his bar for an interview and give him some free publicity!

As a Chicago police officer, I want to apologize to the Niles P.D. and to the responding officers who had to deal with this bullshit. This is very similar to an incident that occurred about several years ago. A Niles police officer gave a break to a CPD officer who was drunk. The officer got out of this car and called 911 from his cell phone and stated a gas station was being robbed right now. He did this so all of the police that are near would respond to his false call and then he got back in his car. A real class act! He got caught and was soon terminated.
Most of us are good, decent and hardworking people. I have a family to support and they are my number one priority. I would never do something stupid or outrageous when I have people depending on me.
I also wish to say I am sorry to the Niles Police Department and any involved Niles officers regarding this matter. Thank you for doing the JOB!

I've dealt with some Niles cops over the years and like the State Police I've never had a bad experience with them. I wish I could say the same about CPD.

We are not picking on "the kid". He is a 33 year old grown man. He brought shame and dihonor upon the CPD, not once but many times. He needs to grow the fuck up and accept some responsibility for his actions. People need to stop making excuses for him. Support him by making him face up to himself and his issues. Here's a suggestion...Change the uniforms in your bar so that your employees are not wearing look-a-like CPD shirts. Take away all reference to the CPD and the CFD from your bar. You have dishonored us and brought shame upon us. You are not good enough to associate yourself with us.

I'm so sick of this kind of shit on the CPD. My whole career, close to 30 years, I've watched this shit happen. Typical clouted asshole. Kid was an asshole growing up who always got taken care of because of his old man and kid is still an asshole on the job. I knew how screwed up this job was as a patrolman but when I made sergeant and watched how the corrupt clout CPD system really worked I realized if I had it all to do again I never would have taken this shit clout ridden job. His old man may have been a nice guy, I worked with him and for him, but let's be honest he was a clouted up Irishman who never had the real brains to make it past patrolman on his own. Those of us on the job remember that the old man quick put in his papers and retired under a "cloud." Truth and fairness is not part of the CPD. Don't believe me, just ask some poor no clout patrolman who takes time or 30 pending for minor chickenshit while clout ridden Irish assholes like this time and again get away with anything.

I have lived in Edison Park for 36 years. The Niles PD has always given us a break, as far as I know. I was stopped recently on Howard just east of Caldwell for speeding, and was let go without hesitation by a female Niles P.O. Thank you officer, and we apologize for our screw ups. We value the bond between our departments.

As I have posted in the past on SCC, Thank You to all good Officers who do their best and put themselves on the line every day to try to keep others safe. Any reasonable person knows that one or two bad cops are not representative of the whole department, regardless of how much the media makes of it. Stay safe.
