More Gang Politics
Chicago Magazine follows up their previous article about the "Unholy Alliance" of gangs and politicians with another piece about the "Prisoner Shuffle" that shows how politicos wield their power to get gun, drug and homicide offenders better accommodations in prison and even transfers to prisons closer to home - and their bases of operations:
Among the perquisites of political power, state lawmakers can use their legislative offices to make inquiries with the Illinois Department of Corrections on behalf of inmates who want to be moved to other prisons.
While many inquiries in support of transfers are legitimate—perhaps a well-behaved inmate wants to be closer to a sick or elderly family member who can’t travel long distances—several gang members and politicians we interviewed say that the perk is sometimes misused as a valuable favor that legislators offer gang leaders in exchange for their help.

acevado just punk who thinks he is a copper1 Hey IAD how about another investigation into his criminal activities?
Standard practice for decades, ask any narc/gang unit officers.
How does that Monique Davis keep getting re-elected??!
This is one reason to keep Tamms state correctional facility open.
And while a different animal altogether in terms of the totality of the event, Bill Cozzi wasn't even allowed to dream of such options.
Fuck this city. Fuck this state. And quadruple fuck (bone dry) the politicians, past and present, who've helped put Illinois on the road to being the equivalent of a third world country..
And why doesn't the governor stop this bullshit? He won't because he needs these very same asshole politicians to stay in power himself. Why are we rewarding criminal thugs when legit prisoners could be helped. Illinois has to be the most corrupt state in this country.
Hey, ITS THE CHICAGO WAY! Just another one of the 10,000 reasons why Illinois is the worst state in America. Hopefully Beavers will need to make a request like that.
This country has truly become a liberal utopia.
Pat Quinn is a fucking joke.
How does Monique Davis keep getting elected???
The Chicago Way. She run's unopposed.
Why does Emil Jones II get get to name EJ III to take his spot? How does do nothing Lipinski stay in office? And DICKWAD Durbin???
Welcome to Madiganistan!!
Oh, and btw, Obama just took credit for discovering the Knicks Jeremy Lin.
How do they keep getting re-elected ? If and when the un-washed bodies take the time to go and vote they have been shown campaign materials featuring the candidates name and picture so that when they go into the voting booth they have been taught to look for and vote for that name. Over the years the politician and their name becomes like a member of the family. You
don't forget them. And that's how these poverty pimps and pimpettes continue to get returned to
office each election, and it's a sad commentary on the
mentality and self-esteem of
the un-washed bodies.
Acevedo is no more a Chicago Cop than my grandmother. He's a snake and a rat and will do anything to help himself.
Gee... And the Chicago press hasn't even touched this story!
Gee... why isn't the Federal Prosecutor looking into this? Fitzgerald is just another political hack. Selective prosecution. This cozy relationship between Thugs and slimey politicians just begs for an investigation. So does the murder of David Koschman by Mr. Vanecko. Isn't that one a violation of Civil Rights case? Won't happen. The Feds would rather spend their time, and our tax dollars, putting brainless politicians like Blago away.
If you hadn't yet read the Chicago Magazine series on politicians and gangs, do so. This pandering to gang-bangers by politicians is worst than I ever imagined.
I knew from gang-bangers in the Humboldt Park area that during aldermanic campaigns in the 80's and 90's, one gang alliance considered a candidate "their guy" and the other alliance championed the opponent. But, this latest form of political payback or pandering is truly obscene.
The "fatally shot a Chicago police officer in 1976" that is mentioned in the article, was Terry Loftus, a trully great guy and street copper who worked on the 14th District Tactical Team. He just got off duty and was talking with a couple of Officers on the street, when he was gunned down.
What a tragedy that was, and what a travesty this is!
The article reads:
RONNIE “MAD DOG” CARRASQUILLO, 53, a founder of the Logan Square–based Imperial Gangsters, fatally shot a Chicago police officer in 1976 and was sentenced to 200 to 600 years. In June 2008, Delgado ("Senator William Delgado who racked up the most such requests of all politicians") supported Carrasquillo's request to be transferred from Hill Correctional Center to Dixon, a lower-security facility closer to Chicago.
Gangs and Politicians: Prisoner Shuffle
For some state lawmakers, supporting prisoners' requests for transfers can be a routine constituent service—or a valuable trump card.

Ummm he has a federal indictment. Billy boy wont be at IDOC if anywhere. Stay tuned.
Monique Davis is very strongly affiliated with the Rev Wright and the church on 95th street. You know, the President's " former" church". It is haven for the black political powerful.
Eddie Acevedo is still an active police officer as far as I know. He was assigned to detached services and 16 at one time. He is a legialative leader in Springfield and a strong backer of gun control and sanctuary city politics. His brother was a police officer in 10 who ran security for the malls where all of the criminal activity was taking place to include Munoz photo shop. Blago got him a job with the state and he was fired from that job. Nice family history. I believe another brother was on paid disability from a city job for many years.
If the FOP backs Acevedo or Daniel Burke in any future election, I will spend the rest of my time on this job working to decertify.
Acevedo is a disgrace.
Jesus h Christ! What does it cost them?

Good site. 9 part series on Fitzgerald and Blago
maybe it's time.... for a Republican president, who will appoint an attorney general with honesty and integrity, who will then instruct the US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois to....start indicting these bastards....
Crooks crooks and more crooks!

This incident occured in Miami. One of the brothers, a retired CPD cop who was a Illinois official, was arrested for fighting the police. He was then fired from his state job. Blago hired this brother as a director in the parole department over qualified vets and then refused to fire him.
FYI: Acevedo is the strongest advocate for all police officers in the State of Illinois. Being a fellow copper, I appreciate a politician, like Acevedo, who has continuously fought for Union and our rights as Policemen.
Let's not forget the other political
Alder-creature who is now running for City Clerk! He too was and still has the Latin King connections when running for re-election is now counting on them putting him in the city clerks job. Well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that once he gets in there the Latin Kings are sure to follow. Just imagine how many transfers he will get for Latin King families from one prison to the next depending on their favorite location. Let's not forget the jobs they will have/or want when their guy get's in!!!!!
