Pedway Attack
Police are seeking two robbers who slugged a man and stole his iPhone late last night in a Loop subway tunnel, the second robbery there in as many days.
A Chicago man in his early 30s was walking in the Jackson Street transfer tunnel that connects the Red Line to the Blue Line at about 11:15 p.m. Monday when two men approached from behind and demanded his iPhone, said Central District Police Lt. Richard Guerrero.
The man was hit in the face and his iPhone taken, Guerrero said. A description of the robbers was not available. The victim declined medical attention.
A similar robbery occurred in the tunnel early Sunday.
Literally hundreds of cameras and not a single one of them stopped this mugging. If only they could grow legs and apprehend the Apple Pickers.

Too bad they weren't Red Light cameras, they would've seen everything.
Does this sound like a world class city to you?
CTA Red Line train catches on fire at Rogers Park station
At a time when gasoline is approaching $5/gallon and more people are depending on public transportation the infrastructure is falling apart from neglect.
Millions of borrowed dollars available for parks and programs that will enrich the clouted ones however.
Another attempt tonight. Exact same place, exact MO.
Man walking home from Edgewater train station, robbed?
According to police communications, the victim did not see the offender(s), but he felt an object in his back.
Those cameras should all receive suspensions for not doing their jobs!
When I worked Mass Transit some time back those lower tunnels were locked off at midnight till 7 am. Riders can use the upper cross tunnels just as well. Might be a good idea to start that over again. Problem with all these high priced cameras is nobody is watching them. What a fucking waste.
People just won't put those damn phones away while walking around! I was on Michigan & Ontario last Saturday and the number of victims walking around with iPhones in their hands was mind-boggling!
Wow, just wondering if a whole team of detectives was assigned to each of these cases, too.
Or were neither of these victims related to the superintendent?
Hire more cops. enough of the illusion with all these freaking camera's. A camera cant stop a crime from happening, a cop can. A camera cant give directions to a lost person, a cop can. A camera cant help a stranded motorist, a cop can. A camera cant direct traffic when the traffic lights go out at a busy intersection, a cop can. A camera cant chase on foot or in a car an armed robber, rapist or shooter, a cop can. you get the point....
You would be surprised at how many of these thugs have been identified and gone to jail. Retired Lt. Jim Higgins works for CTA and he is great with the still pics. These cameras actually do work.
Unfortunately, they just keep making more criminals.
Captain Lemmer is in Mass Transit now. I see all this criminal activity coming to an end.
Lt Guererro would be the good choice to catch this guy, think about it. He is an excellent stalker, he will never stop even when told by his bosses, and he is literally un-fireable.. Viola!!
Guerrero is still around? If he had any honor, he would have left after the stunts he pulled........I guess we are "lucky" though, he didn't get a Gold Star again after his time out.
Once again the guys that work in Transit were so busy on their own I-phone that they missed the robbery of the Victim's I-phone. Tsk Tsk Tsk
public transportation tact LT. Lemonhead is not going to be happy. he may have to leave his office and walk the tubes.
You know at some point you would think people would stop walking around on the red/green/blue lines holding their iphones/ipads/other tech devices out for all to see.
Conceal and carry will help the folks in Chicago clean up the mess.
ALL IS WELL PEOPLE!!!!! ALL IS WELL!!!!
I bet there are hundreds of pissed off citizens that would happily volunteer to watch camera's if it meant taking these losers off our streets. Their our streets, not theirs.
Cue the crickets in three, two, one....
Is that the former Deputy Chief Guerrero?

The CTA just bought some new "L" cars from Bombardier in Canada.
A critical part called the "journal bearing support" -- it essentially holds the wheel-and-axle assembly onto the rest of the train -- was made in China. The parts are defective, are breaking, and will all need to be replaced.
Those trains are hitting 60 MPH southbound when they come out from under the river into the station. I've stood next to the motorman's compartment and watched the speedometer through the window.
Horrible disaster waiting to happen.
So rent a Rahmcycle instead.
I'm telling you this guys putting fake cameras in.
