Channel 2 Endangers Police

Creating the story instead of just covering the story:
  • I am posting this to make people aware of this no good low life who fronted off my partner and me in front of the protesters as we video taped them in front of Prudential Plaza. First of all I would like to thank my Brothers and Sisters in Blue who came to our aid, backing us up getting us out of a very hostile situation caused by this inept reporter for Channel 2.

Follow the link below to see his picture.

This guy calls himself a reporter, but is no more than a liberal activist for doing what he did or is as dumb as a box of rocks. His name is Mike Puccinelli and works for CBS Channel 2 News.

    The short of it:
My partner and I were assigned as ET's, to video Tape the "Police Perspective" of the NATO Demonstrations. We had no special riot gear on other than our body armor and gun belts. As we were working the crowd at Prudential Plaza, looking for those wearing mask's, we stopped to film some masked protesters when Pucinelli approached us with his camera man, inciting the crowd which started to grow in size. He kept asking me, by my name and star number why I was filming these people on the public way. Inciting the crowds even more as he asks "Are you under orders from Mayor Emanuel or Superintendent McCarthy to film these people. What gives you the right to film these people." The whole time the crowd swelled, becoming more and more vocal and hostile towards us. Officers had to break rank from the curb line to come to our aid. My partner sensed the danger and started pulling me out backwards by my vest while I continued filming the hostilities. Pucinelli didn't like it either when I turned the camera on him showing the look on his face and in his eyes, as I think he knew he screwed the pooch on this one. He could not stand it that we did not respond to his nonsensical questioning devised to do only one thing. Yes, he knew exactly what he was doing, and that was to incite the angry crowd, and hopefully, at our cost and risk to great bodily harm, they would do something stupid so he could record his BIG CAREER MAKING NEWS STORY and his 2 minute claim to fame. THIS NO GOOD SOB PUT TWO POLICE OFFICERS LIVES IN DANGER, JUST TO RILE THE CROWD FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL GAIN!!!

Mike Pucinelli, a real credit to Channel 2 News. I would like to ask all of my Brothers and Sisters in Blue to familiarize your self with the photo of him linked below and if you see him on the street, extend to him all the professional police service he deserves and tell him the two ET's he fronted off in front of Prudential Plaza would like to buy him a beer and have a little talk. You know, MAN to man.........

I will be filing a complaint through the Media Affairs Office. If the results are not satisfactory, I will hire my own attorney and take care of business myself.

God Bless the CPD and CFD,
    ET JTM,
    Unit 477

    http://chicago.cbslocal.com/personality/mike-puccinelli/mike_puccinelli/

Typical See.B.S. antics. Someone should remind this asshole that if citizens and media are allowed to film on the streets, nothing stops the police department from doing the same thing.

How about revoking this asshat's media credentials for starters? And CBS's as well.

I'm glad the officers were okay.

Reminds me of a thing I saw last week on Congress. Mya Martinez takes her microphone and hits a BPU guy in the ass with it and then laughs it off. The BPU guy went apeshit on her and told her in no uncertain terms that he didn't care who she was and that he'd arrest her if she touched him again. Don't know why she would even think of touching one of us. This was after all the vans got released and BPU was left on their own with the crowd the last couple hours I think. Monday night?

I would be disgusted because he grew up here, but if you think about it for a second, he grew up in Oak Park and went to Oak Park River Forest High School. I bet there are quite a few of these "special" people that hate the police from there. Until someone has their hand on his throat, then he'll love the cop, for about 10 minutes.

I watched the exact events unfold as I stood guard along the curb in front of the Prudential Building.
Typical media parasites floating about in the crowd looking to interview the next asshole.
It's no secret in this town that 99.9% of the media are liberal garbage and would not hesitate to fuck over any man or woman in blue!
I truly am baffled as to why we feel the need as a department to disseminate any information to these hacks whatsoever, whether it be related to a crime, rescue, department policy or any matter that doesn't concern them.
Lord knows most of these fucks couldn't generate a story without some fucking handout from someone in our ranks.
Imagine these newscasts and papers if the media was simply froze out!
These are the same assholes whose best stories concerning cops are usually involving dead ones or incarcerated ones!
It's time we start treating these assholes the way they treat us, like shit!
No more breaks on tickets, DUI's or even weaseling their way near a fucking crime scene. What this Channel 2 fuck did was a disgrace and basically obstruction. Maybe the next media parasite will think twice when the cuffs are slapped on one of his comrades for crossing the line with the police.
I truly hope the ET goes forward with his complaint and sends this douchebag a message.
All you media trolls on this blog need to realize we are not your friends and we know you are only concerned about your next lead or story and you would roll over or hurt any policeman to get it.
Stay the fuck out of our business!!

Pucinelli pulled the same liberal antics during the march on Saturday. The protesters were basically clueless to the amount of UCO's who were in their ranks on Saturday. Pucinelli told the protesters that there was a large amount of police officers who had infiltrated their march. The protesters started calling and pointing people they thought were UCO's. This would not have happened Saturday had it not been for Pucinelli. I think the guy should be arrested for endangering the lives of Police Officers. Personally the FOP should get involved and call for this clowns ouster to another market under the CBS blanket.

Oh, yeah, the coppers there know all about it. They hold their tongues and do their jobs. 'Way too many lawyers-per-capita, with annual landscaping bills larger than the gross national product of some Third World countries.

"(Fill-in-blank) For Obama."

Only place east of Berkeley you still see peace signs -- only place I have ever seen some character in an "ACLU" windbreaker -- like a raid jacket or something -- working door-to-door with literature, etc.

Go into a District and have a Reckless Conduct case report done naming Pucinelli as the offender. Make sure to include the fact there is videotaped evidence available. Then go your Misd court branch and get a summons for him to appear. I doubt they will issue a warrant until he doesn't appear on the summons. Once in court, sign the complaint and have him criminally charged. THEN you can move forward with a lawsuit if you choose. I STRONGLY recommend this. We should be doing this regularly when anyone from the Media puts us in jeopardy, I recommended it when they showed the home address of an off duty copper involved in a shooting in 008 two years ago. I have contacted News Affairs and they asked only that they get notified when we do it. I said I would notify them AFTER the arrest. DO IT! You are a victim of their/his reckless and dangerous conduct.

I was flipping channels on sunday early evening when the 22 and michigan shit started. At one point the newsman was saying that the crowd surrounded two protestors who they believed were undercover officers and yelling 'pig, hes a cop, look at his gun in his waist'. I don't recall which channel that was.

But the channel 5 newsman who got caught in the crowd of pushing and who yelled out an officers name and star number on tv was a real pussy. He shouldn't have been in the middle of the chaos in the first place. The police were doing their job in formation and moving the crowd out of the area.

I hate channel 2 5 and 7. I hate the sun times and tribune. I watch a little of 9 and 32. Then again, everything going on in chicago sucks, so who cares to know whats going on. It only pisses you off.

Phil Rogers and Bill Jennings (cameraman) from NBC were in-between the CPD and the protestors. The legit. local media were warned in meetings with the CPD not to put themselves in the middle of the conflict, because they would not be able to protect them. They also violated NBC guidelines that were setup for the NATO meeting. Charlie Wojo. was on a rooftop at Cermak and Michigan with a live camera out of harms way along with most of the other stations. I also heard that Dave Savini (CBS)and cameraman were also in the middle of the 2 groups near Rogers.I don't know what their politics are or care, but I do know that they were crazy and stupid.

In all fairness to CBS Channel 2 reporter Kristyn Hartman, it was her televised interview with J-FLED that documented his COWARDICE when he "gotta run" (the other way) from a still unsolved murder that just occurred less than 45 seconds away in Englewood as the troops went into harm's way. Ms. Hartman told me that the gunfire, followed by wailing sirens were clearly audible before Weis fled.

Click HERE for the 21 second video.

Puccinelli is reprehensible pond scum for putting lives in danger.

Since nobody else seems to want to, I'll stick up for the pooch. I was there. The officer doing the filming was a jag. Yes, he had an absolute right to film on the public way, but he was going out of his way to wind peaceful folks up. If he'd just been filming the masked folks suspected of being troublemakers, fair enough, but he was getting right in the grill of regular middle-aged folks who were eating their lunch in the park, filming them close up. That naturally incited the crowd against him and attracted the pooch and his camera crew. Obviously, once the pooch showed up, the crowd got bigger, but the whole incident could have been avoided if the officer hadn't taken such obvious pleasure in winding uninvolved folks up in the first place.

Credit where it's due, though: the guys he was assigned to film probably were up to no good. I saw them voluntarily leave the march later that afternoon when confronted by a white shirt. Don't think they'd have done that if they didn't have something serious to hide.
