Pesky Homicides
A 27-year-old man has died two days after he was shot in the head on the South Side in the city's Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Marcus Morgan of the 8000 block of South Ada Street was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m. today at Stroger Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.
[...] Morgan was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital where he later died.
So that means not only was April ahead of last year, May is, too. And how many other months this year? We're sure Rahm and McCarthy will try to spin it as "they're killing each other at a slower rate than last month," but that's just bullshit spin. The fact is we are speeding ahead in the yearly totals and nothing seems to be working.

Yeah, look at the web page for breaking news on the tribune site. All these little bullshit stories have almost pushed the news about 25 people being shot off the page.
What's the top story on that site the last I checked? Bones found in Colorado of a missing hiker from Chicago.
Maybe it's just me but there sure seems to me an inordinate amount of politically based hype being pushed out since the shootings last night.

A female stole a Chicago Fire Department ambulance from St. Bernard Hospital in the Englewood neighborhood late Sunday and crashed it several blocks away, authorities said.
The offender, a female of an undisclosed age, took Ambulance 14 from outside the hospital in the 300 block of West 64th Street around 10:50 p.m., according to Chicago police and fire officials.
The driver fled about a mile east across the Dan Ryan Expressway until it crashed into a vehicle in the 6700 block of South Indiana Avenue, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.
The female, who wasn't injured in the crash, was taken into custody.
It was unclear what led up to the theft.

MIAMI police have shot dead a naked man as he ate the face of another man police believe was homeless.
The incident happened at about 2pm local time on Saturday near Miami's busy Biscayne Boulevard, just south of The Miami Herald building, the newspaper reported.
A witness told Sunday of yelling for the attacker to get off his victim, before police arrived and repeated the demand.
As an officer drew his gun and called for an end to the disgusting attack, "the guy just stood ... with pieces of flesh in his mouth and he growled," Larry Vega told WSVN-TV.
He said the scene after the assailant was shot several times and fell alongside his disfigured victim was "one of the most gruesome things I've ever seen in my life."
It remains unclear why the attacker pounced on his victim, who police theorized might have been homeless and laying down when the crazed man began the assault.
It was also unclear how both men came to be naked, but police said the attacker might have been suffering from "cocaine psychosis," a drug-induced craze that makes a person very hot, according to the Herald.
According to police sources, a road ranger saw a naked man chewing another man's face on the side on an off-ramp and shouted on his loud speaker for the attacker to back away.

Why is it a bad thing if shit kills shit? I see it as a favor to society.
Maybe some shootings in front of our politicians homes might bring some needed attention to the carnage taking place in our city.
The last asshole to steal a Fire ambulance stated that he need a ride home. Just shows what is out in the streets today. Sure some poor good soul needed that ambulance and now it is down. Fucking animals!

this was the shooting victim that repeatedly stated "Stand me up man",as his brain matter was draining out of the hole in his head. He was dead the night he was shot, he just didnt know it.
we had more homicides back in the 70s-80s and early 90s....yeah,but we didnt have as many ambulanes then. many people bled out. we also have better medical facilities too. could you imagine the rate minus modern technologies?
But we have gun control and anti 2nd ammendment laws here. This just doesnt make sense. Not.
