Who's Leaving?

Word in the comment section of a lot of movement being planned immediately following NATO.
  • Murphy gone - to the Metropolitan Pier Authority spot as Deputy Chief (sergeant) Keating leaves for greener pastures;
  • Tobias to Des Plaines as their new police chief;
  • Williams (Eugene?) for unknown reasons;
Plus the Sergeant and Lieutenant promotions due to be out this coming Friday or next. Should be an interesting summer by any definition.

Mmmm...very interesting...some of us know that Keating was recently whistled in by the feds for questioning. And that Keating has a big mouth and told some folks in a public establishment that he doesn't understand why he is getting called in, because he doesn't know anything about shortshanks. And Keating kept repeating to those in the public establishment 'I'm already retired so why call me, I don't know the man'. Yet nothing was established that the questioning was about shortshanks or anyone or anything specific for that matter. And all of a sudden its publicly announced that Keating quit "for greener pastures". Very interesting...

I'll say this, in just under 20 years on this job, I've never seen the amount of backstabbing and treachery that I've seen the last few weeks in relation to the sergeant and lieutenant promotions. People that have been "friends" for years absolutely degrading themselves for a chance at a merit spot. Makes me absolutely sick, and I've lost all respect for everyone of them that went begging for a spot. If I were asked to put in a package by an exempt, I would, but to literally lower yourself to begging any and every boss you've ever had contact with? I'm at a loss, it's just so sad.

The best part is, the people that are kissing so much ass for those merit spots will probably be the ones to get them, which gets you EXACTLY the Department we have right now.

Video is here to stay. Deal with it and utilize it for your best advantage. Like revolvers and Republicans who are libertarians the days of no video are long gone.

As for "shaky bosses" I've been here since 1985 and with the exception of Rice, Hilliard, and a few other high ranking exempts virtually all the bosses have had the shakes.

Sometimes I wonder if promotion above the rank of Lieutenant requires that 85 percent of the promotees have room temperature IQ's.

SCC,

Fox News just posted about this savage Tyrone Woodfork. This predator beat and raped an 85 year old lady and then killed her. Her husband a WW II vet who won the Bronze star while jumping into Normandy on D Day was also injured in the attack. He was 90 years old and they were married for 65 years. The piece of shit who did this was 20 years old. Beating and raping a 85 year old lady. Where's the media on this one? Where's the outrage? Where's Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson? I am thinking about retiring from this job and becoming an activist like them to being attention to brutal Black Crimes on People.

CPD Sgt

An Oklahoma man suspected in a brutal home invasion -- already facing a murder charge for allegedly killing an elderly woman -- could face additional charges after the death last week of her husband, a D-Day veteran.
Bob Strait, a 90-year-old Tulsa resident, died on Friday, and a medical examiner is determining his cause of death, News On 6 reports.
He was injured March 13 when, police say, Tyrone Woodfork, 20, entered the house and attacked, allegedly beating and sexually assaulted Strait's 85-year-old wife, Nancy Strait, who died two days later. The couple had been married for 65 years.
Woodfork was arrested a day after the incident when he was spotted driving around in Strait’s vehicle, a Tulsa Police Department spokesman told FoxNews.com.
Woodfork was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on March 15 and is being held on charges of first degree murder, first degree burglary, armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Bob Strait was a World War II paratrooper who took part in the D-Day invasion as part of the 101st Airborne Division, where he was awarded a Bronze Star, News On 6 reports.

Funny how fast Tobias is departing the CPD after the Playboy article appeared. How many more mentioned bosses will be shown the door?

Poor leadership allowed a climate conducive for robberies, kidnappings, home invasions and so forth. Jerry F and his team were untouchable, protected from Superintendent Cline down to their Sgt.

Nonexistent leadership and lack of supervision allowed the SOS nightmare to occur!

Was he just talking about those days when they cancel days off? This must be Don O'Neill's math. Of course, he forgot that there will be no Tact Teams or Gang people around. Yeah, yeah, I know 2nd watch will be gone, but there absence is covered by the 12 hour tours of 1st and 3rd watches (except for the night overlap...).
