"I was standing at the squad car close enough for him to see that I was pregnant," Tiffany Rent, who is eight months pregnant, said this morning hours after she was released from custody.
Given the state of Chicago's so-called "obesity epidemic," we doubt the officer knew anything of the sort. We'd love to see this idiot prove that allegation in court.

- At an unrelated news conference today, Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said police would "take appropriate action" but he could release few details while the complaint is investigated by the Independent Police Review Authority.
“That case is being investigated right now by IPRA. I don’t have many details on it," McCarthy said. "What I can tell you is, we immediately, as soon as we got the complaint we started the investigation, and when we realized what was going on, we referred it over to IPRA and we’re going to take appropriate action.”
When asked what Chicago police policy is regarding a stun gun being used on a pregnant person, McCarthy said: "Well, first of all, you can’t always tell whether somebody is pregnant. So, you want to use it where you are overcoming assault or preventing escape. That’s what it boils down to."
"That policy has been in effect for quite some time," McCarthy said. "Whether or not the policy has been adhered to is going to be examined separately from the investigation into the use of force. So we’ll keep you posted on that, and we’ll see how it plays out.”
Amazing. Pretty much a textbook answer for all dealings with the media trolls. Stick up for the officer (conditionally if policy was followed), promise a full and prompt investigation, swear to keep the media informed. Nicely played.

Hmmm, I sense that any REASONABLE woman who was pregnant would not have done anything, or acted in such a way, that she would have placed her unborn child in danger.
You gambled on parking in a handicap parking space, and on this day, you lost. A REASONABLE person (would not have done this to begin with) would have just sucked up the fact that they got caught and moved the car. Especially if you are concerned about your unborn child, like she NOW claims. Why get in a pissing match with a cop? Over a $200 ticket?? She EARNED that ticket, take it, move the car and move on.

There were two involved here -- the male, apparently the driver, earned himself a dislocated-something-or-other, arm in sling, and both were arrested.
Both IMMEDIATELY had lawyers speaking for them.

I've been pregnant twice and during neither pregnancy did it ever cross my mind that I was allowed to park in a handicapped spot due to being pregnant. Also since her boyfriend was the one who got out of the car to run into the store I don't understand why they were trying to justify her parking there because she was pregnant. As the daughter of someone who LEGITIMALLY needs to park in handicap spot, it pisses me off that people like Rent park there when they aren't supposed to. She ought to be ashamed of her behavior! Something tells me this ain't the first traumatizing event her chilluns have ever witnessed and it's fixing to not be the last. I'm so TIRED of hearing about how brutal police are. Hey Mopes! Walk in their shoes for a day and see how much compassion you have for your own kind. As the wife of a police officer, you people who act like Rent cause fear in my and my children's life everytime he walks out the door to spend another eight hours putting up with the likes of you, Rent! You and your kind don't seem to give a damn about my husband's well-being so why should the police give a shit about yours? If you are so worried about your pregnancy, stay home and take it easy. Make the daddy run the kid to practice (late at night? Right) and himself to the sto. And if you don't think you can count on baby daddy to be around to help with all your chilluns, perhaps you ought to stop birthing 'em. This is merely another attempt of society's scum to break the law (meant only to repress blacks, not to provide safety, fairness, and decency for all people) and when caught acting the fool, they gonna claim racism, and if the po po is also black, then it now becomes police brutality. Which equals payday! Don't talk about how God ought to do something! Rent, you are the one God ought to do something about! And all the people who act just like you! And here's a little something for ALL citizens of America: Don't break the law and you won't have run ins with the po po. And if by chance you do, shut your fool mouth and be respectful (for a change). Just try it. Once. Y'all can't have it both ways: the police there in record time when you've been wronged AND to leave you alone cause you are black. GIVE ME A BREAK! BE SAFE OFFICERS! It's a jungle out there!
