Homicides for July are down over last years totals.
So does that mean the entire homicide problem McCompStat is experiencing is actually dependent on the Cubs keeping a hot streak alive?

No, SCC, it just means that hell has frozen over.
Don't know how it ties in with the homicides, but the Cubs streak is nothing new....it's their annual post all star winning streak that gets all their dimwitted fans thinking that "This IS the year".....only to fail miserably in late August and September
The cubs are like my chances of promotion .......see ya next year fans!
Unfortunately, murders will top last July's totals and the Cubs will find a way to blow it like they always do.

No SCC, the cubs have always sucked and there were always homicides. No correlation at all.
Maybe 35th st can look at this stat and make it part of their new strategy of the week.
