Huh? Who Writes This Crap?

Another nonsense nuisance lawsuit:
  • A man filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the City of Chicago and a police officer, saying the officer used excessive force when he shot him while he was unarmed.

Joe Banks Jr. says he was riding his bike on Ohio Street July 25, 2011, when an officer opened fire, according to the lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The lawsuit also names the Officer [...] as a defendant.

We're pretty sure that the involved officer isn't in fact an officer, but a high ranking member of the force.

  • Officers who were on patrol tried to stop and interview Banks that day, but he fled, which led the officers to run after him, Chicago police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said at news conference last year.

As an officer approached, Banks pointed a handgun at him and ignored orders to drop the gun, police said. An officer shot Banks on the 3200 block of West Ohio Street after he pointed the gun at the officer a second time, police said.

Um, wasn't he unarmed? So where does the gun come from? Unless the gun was there all the time and the lawsuit is just so much bullshit looking for a payout. Do these reporters even read when they write?

  • In the lawsuit, Banks says he was unarmed at the time and that he was not trying to resist or escape an arrest. The lawsuit also says police used excessive force when Banks was handcuffed and had fallen to the ground.

You just said he had a gun!?! Why even give this asshole a platform to spout his crap?

And how do police use excessive force after he was lying on the ground shot? We don't just leave criminals wandering around without handcuffs when they've been taken into custody, especially on a gun charge. That kind of defeats the reasoning behind "in custody."

  • The “arrest was false, without good faith, and without any probable cause or reasonable belief that Joe J. Banks was violating the law,” the lawsuit says.

Aside from the non-existent gun that he was caught with that is.

  • Banks has suffered “severe and permanent injuries,” to his head, body and limbs as a result of the shooting, according to the lawsuit. Banks’ father said at a news conference last year that his son was not involved with criminal activity.

Because dear old Dad was actually there on scene and has kept close tabs on his adult son all these years. making sure he didn't smoke, drink and attended church at least three times a week. Give us a fucking break.

  • “My son is not that type of young man,” Joe Banks Sr. said with two pastors and more than a dozen relatives by his side. “He's not a gangbanger, he doesn't sell drugs. … We are a decent family.”
Yeah, his IR# and arrest record say differently Dad. You'd hope that just once, the Department would release the rap sheets of these jackasses just to counter this type of nonsense. But that would be "prejudicial" to the criminal proceedings, while they can just spout this crap and poison entire generations and communities against the police.

Perfect example of an officer that should have gotten a Dept Commendation for using restraint in merely wounding and taking down this offender when by all rights he should have blown this guy away. The officer had every right to. Just like the officers that sometimes merely bitch slap a punk. Because an officer is filmed doing so, doesn't lessen the deservability (I made this word up) of the recipient.

Algonquin J. Calhoun, Esq. is probably the author. He had Andrew H. Brown, and George Stevens help him with the spelling of the really big words.

Who says "The Mystic Knights of the Sea" are a bunch of no good loafers ? Their academic prowess is legend
in some areas. !!! They branched out into legal matters these days.

......and if this mope had shot around and hit some "innocent", the police would be blamed and the city also be sued. End the ghetto lottery with some common sense.

Hopefully this "certain" "officer" gets demoted all the way back to patrol. Then he can see how shitty it is on the watch!! You aquire time due, but CAN'T use it. You have a family function u damn well better pray it's on ur RDO.

But head echelons are conducting role call and telling us what "they" need (contact cards, arrests, movers)

We can't strike, but we sure don't have to do any "pro active" police.

Why u may ask? So the bosses can report back to their useless meetings and look good??

So the city gets our ticket revenue but screw us at contract time??

So theses "non tax paying" animals get to have good police service??

So u suck-holes can keep your "sweet gig" , and yes, some officers think the bike team in 011 is a sweet gig!!!

WAKE UP. Answer ur jobs and back up officers on their jobs. THAT'S IT. "oh, I can't have off for my sons birthday party this Saturday?" -they have some f*cking nerve.

You can guarantee that if you shoot someone today, regardless of the circumstances, you are going to be sued. It's the nature of this liberal society that everyone created here. This shooting was completely justified but it doesn't matter anymore. At the end of the day all tht matters is that the officers involved went home ok.

"...shot him while he was unarmed..."

A. They're lying. That takes care of that.

B. Now -- I'd pay a nickel to know who started this thought virus. "Code Of The Old West," "Marquis Of Queensbury" "fairness" thing THAT NEVER EXISTED ANYWHERE.

Gun/no gun, "armed/unarmed" is irelevant. Actions posing a threat to life are what matters, regardless of the physical means employed.

Trayvon Martin wasn't armed either. He apparently got himself wasted while he was busy beating someone's head on the cement.

I have had the honor of working for the 011th District Captain involved in this shooting for several years. The man has unbelievable knowledge of the General Orders and has no fear of getting his hands dirty by putting the evil vermin of the 011th District behind bars. He goes above and beyond to make sure all of his Officers are well taken care of and has genuine concern for our well-being. The other Officers involved are veterans and great street cops who have patrolled these filth-ridden streets of "Fillmore" faithfully for several years. This is a classic case of good vs. evil and if the residents of 011 were so interested in making their communities "safer" and "stopping the violence" they would voice their overwhelming support for these outstanding Officers that were doing their job and serving their community. I am honored to work along side each of these Officers and am confident that things will go THEIR way.......the RIGHT way! -011th District Sergeant

07:41am You are a real jerk, I can just imagine what it must be like working in a car with you all night. No one likes the way time due is getting restricted but it's like that in all districts not just yours, I don't see what that has to do with us all supporting the officers who are involved in this or any other shooting. Oh and it's roll call not role call you jackass!
