Stealing a Bus?

  • A man posing as a CTA bus operator took a bus out of a lot near a South Side CTA garage earlier this week and drove about 12 miles before pulling into another garage, according to the transit agency.

The man never stopped at bus stops or picked up passengers during his drive, the CTA said.

Cori S. Martin, 33, of the 4800 block of West Rice Street, was dressed in slacks, a work shirt and a vest similar to the uniform worn by CTA drivers, said CTA spokesman Brian Steele. He was carrying what appeared to be a stolen CTA radio and a counterfeit CTA ID card, Steele said.

The article says he drove the bus 12 miles, but doesn't say that this was his second run of the day. It also doesn't note that Martin had been driving the buses between the barns for over a month, and no one said a word to him. Remember, it isn't really lying to the media if you only give them a small portion of the story.

Rahm ought to give him a job - he works for free, can't accrue sick time, doesn't demand health care and probably won't be getting a pension. An all-around winning combination.

The carefully filtered and edited news

You're right SCC.

", it isn't really lying to the media if you only give them a small portion of the story."

Same M/O as the 911 response times were down story this year when they published the piece and did not tell you that they were comparing it to a time when there was a major snowstorm with LSD shut down and people stranded on the drive. No lie there either. Just not all the information being told.

Same M/O as the recent story about tourism downtown booming with something like a 97% hotel occupancy rate.

Golly gee whiz do you think that perhaps June will be a statistical outlier month for this measurement because all the people planning to come to Chicago avoided the place like the plague in May because of NATO? So we have two months of travelers crammed into one month and then in July we'll see the real story but that story will not be published

Timing is everything.

Crime is down.

OT: MCCARTHY will be gone by 01 September, no promotions either. The promotions were a ploy thought up by RAHM to keep us engaged during NATO. MCCARTHY is completely toothless! Since he has taken over with his "no nonsense" approach how many people has he dumped? The answer is zero. He created a position, XO, as a consolation prize. He is a carpetbagger hired by a carpetbagger. They have destroyed the little morale we have left, and do not care. We have lost the front, the ghetto savage is coming to every corner of the city and RAHM and GARRY do not care! Why? Because they do not have to live here, on the other hand we do.

McCarthy said his staff estimates there are 26,000 “hot people” living in Chicago.

“That means there are about two of those bad guys for every one of our officers,” the superintendent said. “So take that concept of ‘hot people’ policing, and drop that on top of ‘hot spot’ policing, which we’re already doing

Our Supt and Command Staff, etc, have had to much kool aid to drink because this "hot people" B.S. is now more than a perception problem, its now more like B.S.
