Rahm Misses Us!

Oh wait, no he doesn't. Someone just pointed out what an asshole move it would be to not be in town during labor strife and near-constant shootings:
  • Mayor Rahm Emanuel will be spending a lot less time at the Democratic National Convention than he’d originally planned.

Originally, the mayor had planned to be in Charlotte from Tuesday through Friday morning.

Now, his Communications Director Sarah Hamilton tells Newsradio that Emanuel has changed his plans.

  • Hamilton insisted the mayor’s shortened trip to the convention doesn’t have anything to do with a possible teachers strike.

[...] She said Emanuel’s abbreviated trip likewise doesn’t have anything to do with the city’s higher murder rate this year.

Wow. When Rahm starts lying, everyone else starts lying, too.

This reminds us of a recent Obama story:

  • Remember when the media was insisting that Romney, apparently head of FEMA, cancel the convention to deal with Isaac?

Well, he's not the head of FEMA, but he did something the actual head of FEMA forgot to -- tour the affected areas.

President Barack Obama was today forced to announce he will fly to storm-hit Louisiana on Monday – hours after Mitt Romney beat him to the punch by deciding to head there this afternoon. After it emerged that Obama was still taking time to fit in a campaign stop in Cleveland, Ohio before checking out how clean-up operations are proceeding in the Bayou state, the Obama campaign abruptly cancelled that event.

'In light of the President’s travel to Louisiana to meet with local officials and view ongoing response and recovery efforts to Hurricane Isaac, President Obama will no longer travel to Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, September 3,' the campaign said in a terse statement.

Obama is the one actually in charge of FEMA. He's also the one with a solid block of campaign stops through the storm.

And folks think Bush was out of touch? Obama is at least as tone-deaf and Rahm is just as bad.

From a bit farther down --

Things are SO bad here that Emanuel is going to cut short his time at the DNC and come back early "to host a party for Obama's confirmation speech."

If he had said that "there are urgent matters in Chicago that I must attend to -- a teacher's strike and a crime wave" there is a slight chance that he might have grown an inch or two in people's estimation.

We couldn't have that, could we?

He remains a miserable, conniving little worm.

Didn't the dems jump all over President Bush because of the gov't response when Katrina hit? Didn't some douchebag rapper go on TV and say "Geoerge Bush hates black people"? Well, a new hurricane has hit, they're all in terrible shape in La., and it looks like Barry and Co. haven't done too much for the people affected. Maybe a country music star should go on TV and tell everyone Obummer doesn't like rural white people.

Yeah, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers designed a new levy system that protects the shit-hole city of New Orleans while flooding the suburbs. Like the Corps blew the levies to flood farmland in Missouri to protect the shit-hole city of Cairo, Il. Hey, why not get the Corps to redesign the Big Tunnel? It might solve some other problems.

The RNC should showcase Rahm's absence and complete failure of leadership as Chief of Staff and as Mayor of Chicago.

Obama is first and foremost a.... POLITICIAN. After all the flak President Bush took with Katrina you would think Obama would be smart enough to at least make a cameo appearance somewhere near New Orleans. Fact is Barry is in BIG BIG TROUBLE. The poll numbers are telling him and his minions that the electorate is very very restless and ANGRY. And when the Democrat spin doctors tell us that we are in fact better off now than 2008 it makes you just more PISSED OFF. This will be a very very brutal election. Put your seat belts on and stock up on your favorite beverage.

Btw noticed a complimentary letter from rahm for nato just was approved to our history. 12,557 recipients. Not all po's, all cpd members, civilians in the department, crossing guards, and other personel were listed. Ttoo time consuming to count all the po's. Anyone else feel up to the challenge? It's in everyone's award history on clear. Our numbers keep falling...

That moron Carney actually tried to claim that canceling the Ohio stop had nothing to do with Romney going to LA first. Naturally no one in the WH "pressed flat" corps challenged him.

As an aside, I wonder if Obama refers to them as the WH press corpsmen?

If Bush went to Texas instead of Louisiana after a hurricane he would have been pilloried. The MSM was downgrading the strength of Issac just before announcing that Barry finally made it to Louisiana.

I don't think Barry wanted to be seen shaking the had of one of the smartest and most able governors in the country, Bobby Jindal. Maybe as little racism on Barry's part?

The media went to a great deal of air time and explanations yesterday on channel 7 evening news. They tried to tell the taxpayers (chicagoans) why the 50 POs were not a fiscal liability or manpower liability during these deadly times. That 50 PO's sent to the DNC was OK Chicago!

Not true as usual.

Check the list of all DNC PO's. Channel 7 stated they all were on summer "vacations" (furlos?)
Check!

Money?
Rham is coming home to govern the teacher's strike early, they related, and keep an eye on the world record homicide rate as well as the out of control gang problems.
But the money he is going to spend on a "DNC watching party" when he returns early to Chicago will be an enormous fiscal
drain as well as a devisive event to the city's undecided voters.

Ka Ching again tiny rude dude.

Boy, they spun that fast! The first reports I heard on WBBM radio were that he was coming home early "to host a party."

"Ka Ching again tiny rude dude."

Yeah.

The "enemy of your enemy" is not necessarily your friend in this case.

Karen Lewis and the crew will raise your property taxes until you pee blood.

...and who wanted to put on a red T-shirt and march with that SCREAMING MANIAC woman from "National Nurses United," one of the first bunches off the bus here for NATO?

Now I see that they are co-opting "the children" into wearing red shirts.

This is starting to look like Hugo Chavez' Venezuela.

Just a coincidence, I'm sure.

Then what about our pensions? And the firefighters pensions, and our contract? All threaten to raise property taxes though not as much as many think. I am a PO and I want a financially stable pension system especially since I will be drawing out of it real soon. Just to be fair, we can't insist on a decent contract for us but voice opposition to the teacher's getting theirs. Just saying.

I am already peeing blood, that pension will take me to another state to live more cheaply. How about Indiana? Good credit rating. But they tax retirement income and have a personal property tax and license plates cost mucho $$$. Better to pee blood somewhere else.
