Bourbon Street
Cappas versus Pappas:
- There was some Comments posted in the Abbate Trial blog that state John Cappas, the Drug dealer is now affiliated with Bourbon Street. I've been getting calls and texts all day asking me about this. John Cappas has never been involved here, and has no affiliation with us what so ever. Its been owned by the same family for 13 years. We have heard this rumor before when we opened, our bar manager was John Pappas, and everyone thought it was Cappas, even though he was in jail.
A large part of all of our customers are police and fireman, and I was hoping if there was anyway to make a post that this is a rumor and he has nothing to do with us. I figured after one call it was no big deal, but seven calls later, I realized this rumor spread quickly. Anything you could do to help us out would be greatly appreciated!
That should clear things up.

Good to know. As I'm only 30 years old and a life long north sider, I had never heard of this scumbag. After spending some time researching, googling, him I found out what a total scumbag he was. I feel terrible for the families of the two teens who's lives ended early in mt greenwood becaus of this turd. The unfortunate thing is he will soon get paid when some Hollywood ass clow turns his story into the next blow. He has many you tube clips and articles all on how great he is, and his tellings of his war stories from prison. Hopefully he chokes on one of his hot dogs he now peddles
Pappas Cappas, I give a shit they have been good to us. Why do we start so much shit over some bullshit that has no effect over us. Let's register to vote, let's send back our FOP election ballots when they send them out for numerous things that do effect us.
Vince & nick and all of their managers and staff have been great to all police and fire and the whole Beverly /Mt Greenwood areas
Sounds like a good excuse! No, we had a guy named Al Papone managing the place. Al Capone? No way! I swear to God.
Remember Goodfellas, when the police got free food?
Check out bourbon streets latest room. Country western bands on weekends. They r teaching line dancing every Thursday. Fun times
Whoever the f%cking a$$hole is that started this BS should be real proud.
The Dinovo's have been NOTHING BUT GOOD to every cop and firemen they have come across.
It's only the dickhead cops and smoke jumpers who ruin that level of trust and good will.
Nice try asshat!

John cappas owns a hot dog stand in the south suburbs. Buy a hot dog, fries and some coke.
Last I heard, in a "where are they now" piece, Cappas was selling cars at some dealership.
Cappas is now in the Hot Dog business. He is slinging tube steaks in the south suburbs now.
who the bleep cares pappas or cappas they've ALWAYS treated us well -whether that be fund raisers, family parties to as little as discounts on dinner there - so stfu about bourban st. - cappas or not!
they have been good to the police and firefighters during LOD benefits.
I personally don't care who owns bourbon street, I've never heard of it til now I see no reason to go south of Madison unless I have soxs tickets, and you would not catch me in a cop hangout I hear enough bullshit from my fellow officers sober at work. I use to go to mikes when I was young and it didn't take long to realize 80% of it is B.S. when I'm off work I don't wear anything with cpd or have any sticker on my car or a hatband on my rear view mirror. To the genius who brought up these comments on bourbon st. Which I'm assuming is a bar, how long before there is a investigative reporter filming all the drunk police officers getting in their cars. Smarten up. I am not knocking guys for going out and having some cocktails just be smart about it.
Man, that was painful to read. I hope s/he doesn't manage Bourbon Street finanaces with the same side of his/her brain.
OT- Someone needs to ask Drug Dealer Cappas if he's aware that the lucky new owner of his ZR1 Corvette after he went to the clink did indeed find the 300K in cash in the hidden compartments that law enforcement couldn't find.
Bourbon Street is a class act and a good neighbor. I dont go there often at this point as I am getting older ( 66) and just do not hang in bars. I and my wife were waiting in line one Saturday night to get in and join my daughter and friends for a celebration. One of the security personnel came out, spotted us and moved us around the line and into the club without a cover charge. I thought that was a nice courtesy for an older couple to get.
Bourbon street has been a class act and always treated police with great respect. The owners are good people. The Internet bs and blogs can do a great disservice to people when we fail to get the facts. Im glad you posted this SCC, because as we know we have very few friends left, lets take care of the ones we do.
Bourbon Street is a class place that is verrry good to the police and fireman. Ignorant rumors wont sink this place.
Bourbon Street is, and has been, a great place for cops, firemen and neighbors. The countless benefits that they've hosted has been greatly appreciated by all of us. As a regular patron on Thursdays ( yes, I'm cheap) I can't thank you enough for your support. To the asshole who started this unfounded rumor- you are a real tool. You must have been rejected one too many times and hold a grudge. People- before you open your mouth and spread vicious rumors- check your facts before posting.
RG- Retired CPD
That was casino where they spit in the cops sub.
These guys treat the Police/ Fire and residents from surrounding neighborhoods like kings. They're smart businessmen and great guys!
There's a reason the majority of benefits are held here. They charge a nominal fee so the families can reap the most financial reward from their benefit.
"Reckless has a "k" dumbass.
It is terrble that this fine establishment got a un founded rap.
I never been there but know the family that owns it are good people to the police.
Rumors can destroy a business or a persons good name.
To the copper who started the rumor, you are a J.O.

Man, lighten up! It's not just a bar...it's a restaurant, sports bar, wedding reception hall, among many things. It's also where MANY benefits for Police Officers, Firefighters, Neighborhood people with illnesses, etc. are held. The owners of this establishment have been very good to the community and are especially good to Police and Fire familys. Don't be such a Hater North sider!
I've been to several benefits for Cops, Firemen, and family members of both at Bourbon Street, and more than a few retirement parties. Nice people.
article in paper last week. owns hot dog place 159 and pulaski now.
Bourbon St., as other have said are very good to coppers and firemen, but also to any people from the neighborhood that throw fundraisers for anyone with catastrophic illnesses.
Now that piece of shit Cappas, runs the hot dog stand that use to be Willie's Wiennie Wagon at 159th-Pulaski in Markham. May that fuck rot in hell for what he did to those 2 copper's kids.
Cappas is part owner of a sh$tty hotdog stand on 159th and pulaski
Cappas was a scum bag car salesman when he got out of the joint. Now he's a tube steak salesman. He really thinks who the fuck he is, let me tell you.
Cappas was a car sales manager at Gateway Chevrolet (now defunct) on Chicagos NW side years back after he got out of jail. I remember him being interviewed on TV by a local station. I wanted to throw up when I saw the interview. Like they all say, "I'm changing my life around". He must have some steam to be getting the publicity. He was a south side Pope back in the 80's when I was assigned to NAG/West
