Police Shooting
- A gunman who allegedly shot two people, was wounded by police this afternoon after he tried to fire at them on the city's South Side.
Officers from the South Chicago police district responded about 1:45 p.m. to the shooting at 98th Street and Merrill Avenue, where a gunman shot two people, one of whom was fatally wounded, according to Pat Camden, a spokesman for the police union, citing preliminary information.
[...] Members of the Gang Enforcement Unit had received a description of the shooter and discovered him near the scene where the shooter shot at police, Camden said.
Police responded by striking the man, wounding him, he said. The gunman was shot multiple times and fled the scene and police found him on the 9600 block of Chappel Avenue. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
Well done Officers.

His defense will be that all the sirens yesterday drove him insane.
”...after he tried to fire at them...”
What the fuck does that mean?! He DID fire at police! Stupid asshole just didn't hit any of us (thank God).
Police shooting in 019 also.
Nice jobs guys and gals...no contract, no time due, no new hires, no chance for advancement, no morale, no backing of our mayor, superintendant, bosses or the public, and we still do what we need to. Stay safe everyone.
Good job officers. Bad guy gets shot, good guys go home to their families.
Shit Congo is up for grabs. It was a crazy weekend on zone 12 (25th and 15th districts). On top of that, you want to know what is even more fucked up? I interviewed several subjects (known gang bangers and dope dealers). I asked one of them "hey where is your cousin Mr. xyz?". They replied "oh he finna moved to over by Foster and Harlem. It's a real nice neighborhood over there, no body be bothering you over there". I then asked "oh you mean no poleece be bothering you over there?" and they all replied "yeah that's right". Two of them even said they want to move by Foster and Cumberland. There goes the neighborhood.
Great job fellas! Enjoy your days off and chill. Marlboro reds flying off the shelves as I write.
Police shooting in 019 roll call room reeks of the inexperience and idiotic thinking of some police on this job. One PO wants to look at another PO's gun inside the roll call room. The PO hands over his gun to the other PO and low and behold, its loaded! PO pulls the trigger and BAM,the round hits the floor and into another PO's leg. WTF, I didnt know it was loaded, was heard after the shooting. PO is ok with a minor gunshot wound to his leg. One PO is on 019 bike mission team and the other on the quality of life car. These two need to be dumped to midnights.
Glock makes a Great Reliable 45acp that you can buy for under $500 bucks.

Foster and Cumberland is slowly turning into a small ghetto. Pretty soon that small ghetto will expand.

I've been noticing a lot of case reports about incidents on Cumberland lately. Think they're already there.
Hey SCC, you forgot about the police shooting in the roll call room in 019 th District yesterday.......luckily very minor injury, but could have been tragic.....glad the goof balls involved are on special cars on 3rd watch.....
019. Lucky nobody was killed, someone should have punched these guys in the head and knocked them out. Fucking assholes. That goes for the bosses too.

Three condo associations of 72 condos each on the south side of Foster there. A couple hundred more immediately north. If the associations don't limit the percentage of renters to owner-occupied units, this is what happens. Then, because new owners can't get approved for mortgages due to the high ratio of renters vs. owners, no one can buy or sell. Therefore, even more units get rented out, instead of sold. This destroys neighborhoods at lightning speed.
I'm still trying to figure out how the officer in the next booth on our range shot himself in the foot one day. With a revolver. At least the ricochet went elsewhere.
The whole srtip of Cumberland is now just a new project. Seen the ghetto man selling dope over on East River road by the woods..
In 019, the bosses put people on these "special cars" disregarding experience or how good they can do a job(without a supervisor). Usually these are the people that nobody wants to work with because of how they do things. In this case, its no exception. Sad, these goofs will be rewarded by staying on these mission cars. If the bosses only would be a boss in cases like this, respect would be given. Highly unlikely.
Everyone in 004 did a great job. The detectives even get to clear a homicide out of that.. Oh sorry, murder. Stay safe
Keep in house shit in house. Guess they dont know or pratice gun safety. Hope they stay in 019. I dont want to worry about getting shot at roll call.
Dude's been at Foster & Cumberland for years. Living in Sec 8 apartments near the Pavilion Condos. Killed a store owner in one of the Pavilion buildings about 15 years ago.
To those guys in 19, do us all a favor and go back to the academy and try it again before you kill someone. Jagoffs !
Got to love it that the folks from 015 are bettering themselves by moving up to the West end of 016.
Welcome them and treat them with fairness. Respect gets respect. They want to live in peace too. Maybe the taxes they pay will improve the area.

i'll gladly respect the fuck out of each and every one of them.
Chalkie
019 is new facility with audio and video recording the whole building, why not show the roll call shooting as a safety training video. Would love to see it.
let's see the "quality of life car" has a f/2 who never worked the street prancing around in CD, and her partner who never had a partner was the idiot who gave a supposed unloaded gun to the bike guy who is a nice guy but another idiot who squeezed the trigger in the roll call room.

Great info coming out of 19 regarding the shooting, turns out the weapon that was discharged is an unauthorized weapon and that PO should not have been carrying it, and there were a few weapon inspections from the WC ( ex range officer and gun officianado) that went without noticing the unauthorized weapon, or maybe the quality of life car did not attend weapon inspection. And, the injured officer was injured by "flying concrete" that miraculously came up through the carpet and struck his leg. Interesting enough that no concrete is missing from the floor. That's would be the difference of the truth, a police shooting with an injury, and the case report, accidental discharge with nobody struck. And these unsafe goofs continue to work with the troops.
Im very surprised Eli Vulgaris puts up with these idiots in 019. He is a straight kind of guy with no room for goofs on his watch.
All I can say is that if you work in 019 , you don't want that quality of life car or incident car or whatever they label it, showing up at your job. Too inexperienced to handle anything more than a traffic crash. They're the type that would jam you up in a minute.
those 2 are an absolute joke. Just watch when they stumble onto an arrest, they look soooo lost. A quality of life car where they don't answer jobs not even in progress ones. Yet they r always putting up one man cars but thes e two get put in cd every day.
Welcome to the 19th District, this is Commander so and so, Capt so and so and this is our quality of life car, Dumb and Dumber.
