More Shots Fired at Police

  • Authorities charged the South Side man they said wounded a young girl and woman over the weekend during a shooting that was witnessed by a Chicago police officer who had just ended his shift.

The officer, still in uniform, pursued the vehicle from the 9900 block of South Vincennes Avenue to the 9800 block of South Throop Street just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday where one of two men fired on him, police said.

The unidentified officer returned fire, but no one was wounded in the exchange.
And guess what else?
  • In January, [this asshole] pleaded guilty to resisting a police officer and was sentenced to probation and time served as two aggravated battery to a police officer charges were dropped, according to court records.
Imagine that - in Cook County no less.  Anita's people take the bullshit misdemeanor conviction and void out the felonies that would have put this mutt into prison for a few years.  And then he manages to try to take the life of a Chicago Police Officer and two other citizens.

Anyone writing these things down to use against Anita in a few years?

What Anita has done to the Office and the careers she disrupted is beyond appalling. What she is doing is so half-ass backwards in terms of having her attorneys go hard on ordinary people (DUIs) and yet drop charges on serious offenders.

Everything is run out of 26th, yet the different municipal districts have different issues.

ASAs just basically do her will.

This guy is fucked now . . He probably doesn't have a license and was speeding. Charges that the ASA's might be able to win in court. Oh forget that gun stuff too much paper work, they are going green so the less paper the better.

Does anyone know what number they are on for this current list? They have to be almost done with the list. I heard its taking 12 applicants to get one hire.

10/10/2012 04:44:00 PM

Instead of taking the top of the list, they have decided to make people "qualified" and take from that list. It sounds so much better than words like "quotas" and "race norming".

This has all worked out so well so far.

Thank God he didn't attack a States Attorney, now that would be serious.

The sheep keep re-electing this dimwit.

Maybe it's just me, but I always hear the ASA leave the decision to the officer to take a plea or go to trial. Unfortunately they agree to the reduced agreement most of the time.

I'm surprised that Anita didn't have her night school ASAs, soon to be legal scholar judges, charge the Police Officer with interfering with criminals

Typical CCSAO incompetence!!!! These so called lawyers couldn't convict anyone without a plea bargain or 402 conference. The best is when you talk to these fools and they have an attitude like they're better than you. Then you start to get prepped for trial or motion and find out that these clowns are complete buffoons. You know the criminal justice system in Cook County is fucked up when the coppers are giving advice to the State's Attorneys on to proceed with a case. I have witnessed this on numerous occasions throughout my career. 26/ Cal is a fucking joke.

With all the shootings south, I'm wondering how the dets are keeping up? It's bad enough in Area North. I can't imagine the caseloads!!!!! And major cases, not general assignment b.s.

Come on, it's called crook county for a reason. Not sure if it's because of the mutts or the politicians.

Cook County wants to tax guns and ammo, and they call that getting serious about gun violence. How about putting these guys away for a long time?

Its all bullcrap. The courts, anita and the mayor are not serious about gun violence. If they were they would put these guys away instead of taxing the lawful citizens as a punnishment.

is there any one up for reelection we should take a hard look at? we can not strike so the only power we have is at the polls. wouldnt it be great if we could send anita packing. if we flexed our muscles one time, we might have a easier time in contract negotiations.

I speak from experience, you never ever want to deal with felony review. The lawyers with 3 days experience running the show there are complete idiots. They play judge and jury on all felony cases. The feds need to investigate the workings of felony review.

Our judicial system is a joke. These criminals get a slap on the hand while our lives are in danger because they get a way with too much. Agg. Battery to a PO should be automatic jail time, not no probation. If the criminal beat the crap of of the judges family member I'm sure they would get more time then just agg. Battery to a PO. What a joke.

How about the shots fired at the police in the new nbc pilot of america's hero's Chicago Fire? What bunch of bullshit this series is gonna be! There was also more rope swinging than in a tarzan or spiderman movie! The best fire show out was Rescue Me and I'll even give kudos to Emergency!

anita is pathetic. allow the savages to roam with their guns and killing people with barely a slap on the wrist. catch someone driving without a license and he/she will sit for a year. simply fucking amazing. in my experiences, traffic hurts the savages more than any violent crime has ever. this could also be why crook county is turning beyond ugly. crime is soaring and all our stupid mayor can think is cutting back even more on police.

I suspect the resisting was a felony also, which means the officer(s) were injured.

The probation is the standard felony sentence in this county.

The Illinous Constitution and State Statutes afford victims certain rights.

The right to notification of court proceedings
The right to speak with the prosecutor
The right to give a statement at sentencing

Police Officers are not excluded from these rights. If you are injured by a criminal and the prosecutor denies you your rights, I suggest that you first contact the ARDC and file a complaint against the prosecutor. Secondly, I suggest you speak with your own attorney about seeking damages from Cook County for violating your rights.

"Anita's people take the bullshit misdemeanor conviction and void out the felonies that would have put this mutt into prison for a few years."

They balance the scales by whipping on hot-button emotio-political stuff like "animal cruelty" and "domestic violence" cases where there is some color of ribbon for them to wear.

See? It's all good.

Why wait to use these idiotic charges against Anita for a few years when all police officers should begin a class action suit against her because she is jeopardizing your life and the lives of civilians by not slapping this moron with charges that fit the crime, afterall that is HER job and that IS the reason she gets our tax dollars. Oh forgive me, I forgot, we live in ILLINOIS the state of corruption.
