Quick Response, Multiple Arrests

  • Employees were bound inside a jewelry store during a jewelry heist in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North Side.

Police were back on the scene around 4 p.m. Monday continuing to investigate at the Bryn Mawr Jewelry Company. They were trying to talk to more witnesses and collect whatever other evidence they might be able to find on the scene on W. Bryn Mawr.

It was quick police work; the robbery happened about 1 p.m., and by 3 p.m., two suspects were in custody. Investigators were questioning the suspects Monday evening.
Proceeds recovered, two in custody.  Not a bad afternoon work.

Correction...all 3 in custody. Also, neither gun was recovered. The 2 guys ran from Broadway/Bryn Mawr to Winchester/Farragut, where they were caught. They last had the guns in the 5500 block of Wayne, where they tried to stuff an old lady in her trunk & steal her car. She fought back & bit one of these idiots & they took off again. They ran willy nilly, so those weapons have to be somewhere in-between...on a roof, in a yard, in a garbage can, etc.

Be on the lookout and if you get a call for a found weapon or turn in in this area, call for an ET to recover it.

Hey genius... if you were smart enough to pass a Sgts exam, you'd know that it is the Sgts responsibility to make sure the scene is preserved... maybe that's why they have the tape in their trunk!

Congrats to the police in 20. Good to hear some of the officers are still working on days. Glad to see penny wasn't there, she might have RWOC by accident, bought them lunch and have the officers spared for doing police work and not writing contact cards and movers.

I wonder if you can write one of the offenders a mover if he got in the seat of the old ladies car and it was running, just a thought.

And they ran from brynmawr and broadway to winchester and farragut. Wow thats a long way. Wonder if they were in the chicago marathon. Man I need a newport right about now.

Yes, because there is not one sgt on this job who can or already did hold a candle to your police expertise! You're probably one of those guys who can't wipe his ass without calling for a sgt. People like you need to get back to your mommys basement.

The Channel 5 broadcast at 4pm was a joke. They inferred that the perps got away, even though there were officers in the area, and that three people were being "interviewed". I flipped to Channel 7 at five and they actually used the word "arrested" when they mentioned the three suspects.

The victim tied to the chair is lucky no Mass Transit cops were at the station when this incident occured. She would have gotten an ANOV for loitering being tied to a chair in front of a CTA station.

Dic's back on the scene to talk to more WITNESSES. The ghetto mutt's should take notice of how civilized citizens act when a crime happens in their community. Don't cry about your living conditions when YOU choose to do nothing about it. YOU allow it to happen because YOU think it's the way it has to be, that's your culture so why change it? That's right beat your cheast and say "you don't know me". I know shit when I see it, it's not that difficult.

As if that foot guy ever spent more than one hour on Bryn Mawr---the best that can be said is at least he broke it up into two 12-14minutes segments...thank heaven he had an assigned vehicle

Yes, I listened to those recordings and they do reflect good police work.

I wouldn't describe them as scary. Look at Freshman dismissal at Tilden Tech. That's scary.

Maybe Jan Shakowsky, Heather Steans and Harry Ostermann can finally get rid of Moy - she's why the foot guy retired. She's why most of the old timers left. They don't have to put up with her screaming.
