High School Evacuation?

Anyone hear about this?  True?  Or BS?
  • My niece attends Lincoln Park HS. The day after the shooting one of her classmates got a text saying there was going to be a shooting in retaliation on the campus. School sent a mass phone call message to all parents to come get their children. Not one news report.
We know bomb threats, false fire alarms and such are routinely used by the  inmates at certain high schools to avoid tests and missed homework - if the public heard about these almost daily occurrences, they might be appalled. But we figured the schools would have a harder time covering up something like this in light of the Sandy Hook shootings.

Of course, Rahm and a compliant local media can attempt anything, and have over recent months.  It wouldn't be impossible, just difficult.

Lincoln Park may well be the most desirable neighborhood in Chicago. We must comply with the mandatory mandate of political correctness. We have received orders from City Hall that under no circumstances shall we malign the magnificent neighborhod of Lincoln Park.

To do otherwise would prompt the few intelligent citizens to move out of Chicago, even leaving the State of Illinois. We have no problem with the overwhelming majority of the gullible sheeple that believe whatever the Emanuel administration says through our media.

I've gotta run and catch my train to my gated home in Kenilworth. Despite the fact that I have an arsenal of firearms as do all Democratic politicians, Chicago must ban all handguns.

I do remember seeing something about this on the news, and it got me thinking. The shooting in question was of a 31 assumed m/1 at 1300 north whatever street. The school is at 2000 north a street further west. I remember thinking this was odd because channel 7 showed a map pointing out the distance between the school and where the shooting occurred. All I'm saying is why such a big deal. If this was the case every time some asshole got shot in 010 every school within 2 miles would then be locked down under the assumption of retaliation.

I'm sure this maks no sense. Just wanted to add I saw this in the news

Partly true. The father of a shooting victim from the Rows threatened to shoot everyone at Orange doors and Marshall field homes to retaliate for his deceased son.

Was on Channel 7 news at 10pm on friday night, but there was no detail and they interviewed...KIDS, who felt the threat was not warrented. What the hell do the kids know, especially when they interview the honor students who are just as much sheep as some of their lib teachers! rediculus, but we dont need to pay cops to be in schools...

Do you really expect the truth from rhamn or garry or any aldercreature? And the media? We are living in a country that is about to explode. 9-11 brought us together, it lasted what a month or twothen you could see it falling apart. Not so in 1941, acountry run for the most part on morals and pride. Now we as a divided country elect a person who has the name of barrack hussein obama {AKA: barry sotoro} We were attacked by people bearing such names......WHY? Can someone tell me?

Not true, I work days in 018 and my nephew goes to school there. All they did was send an automated phone call to the student families stating that the shooting was an isolated incident and that there was nothing further to be alarmed about

I work in 018, not true at all. We had additional rapid cars and the usual wagons patrolling the area, that was it. No evacuation of any kind. However, I can tell you that Holy Trinity School on Chicago and State had a mock drill. Anyone can pull up the event for that one.

Most of the kids from the projects over there go to Lincoln park that's about all there is to it. The school was not evacuated, there was a huge police presence around the school though

Meh...that happened at a bunch of suburban schools too. A lot wastaken out of context and panic ensued.

Absolutely false, marshall field kids used the shooting to make up a story to scare the school, kids, parents and staff of the high school causing panic so they could get out of school...they texted parents saying the school told them to go home, so of course parents were scarred and some students went home on their own. Of course even though BS police had to take the story serious.

Glad you posted this. I sent the original post to my alderman last nite. Here is the response I received:

----------------------------------

It is not true that the school sent kids home. Not at all. There was also no actual threat. The parents were notified and you can look at the lphs website as well.

-----------------------------------

In turn, here was my reply to her response:

I appreciate you taking the time to clarify that issue.

Regardless, we have 1) a murder in Old Town, 2) the CCSAO will not prosecute, 3) killers released back on the street, and 4) Rahm Emanual wants to take guns away from law abiding citizens who want to protect themselves.

What a completely eff'd up situation.

Unfortunately, the Sandy Hook shootings, may those little angels forgive our stupidity, has not changed a thing for us in the schools.

While the politicians, mainly libertards, massage their semantics. Children and their teachers are at a continued and ever increasing risk.

The political correctness that started 20 years ago with "the right word" ago has become a become a cloud over logical judgement. We now pander to criminals, hide behavior that is detrimental to all, excuse anything that goes against the norms of society.

The cancer of our society has become what we must protect and excuse.

The Teacher

P.S. Schools in places like Israel, Europe and Mexico have serious fences around them and often armed guards.

We live in Edison Park and our son is a junior at Lincoln Park High School. He told us that some kids were taken home by their parents but the school did not request that.

The principal sent parents an email saying that social media rumors were flying around out there but were not true. He did say extra police would be around as extra precaution but not because of specific threats.

Should we be concerned that there may be retaliatory shootings at the school? Are there heightened gang tensions in the Gardens area that will flow to the HS?

Isn't their already police in Chicago high schools ? Arent there metal detectors in the worst of them ?If not then why not ? One good officer in every school and restricted admittance can't be that much of a cost.

Bug the kids WITH text beepers with instructions and a OPS intranet so we know HOW best to get them out of harm:s way directly!

Unless it's a public high school; they forgot how to read or follow instructions, they will probably think that beepers are something to circumvent or throw away with their lives without knowing it?!

My wife and I live pretty close to LPHS and we're at Oz Park daily. Aside from the white kids pretending to be inner city, it's fairly quiet around there. Last week, while I was watching my son play on the wooden fort, I heard 5 kids 10-14 pretending to be HALO characters. One of them said he was MASTER CHIEF and that he was going to kill everyone with an assault rifle and then said he was switching to a sniper rifle. Obviously kids love Cops and Robbers but I thought this was potentially disturbing in that these kids were really describing detailed attack maneuvers. One of the kids parents was close by and buried in their Iphone, rather than being an observant parent and had a blank face when I mentioned the kids dilogue. Society has lost touch when kids engage in this behavior and it isn't corrected.

Just my thought.

The Chicago Police Department used to have a School Patrol Unit; these officers were stationed in schools and became part of the culture, becoming a confidant to the children who through interaction with the officers learned to trust authority. This was also one of the first specialized units to go when manpower sank to new all time levels, levels under rahm that even considering the dire circumstances surrounding our city prevent the possibility of ever implementing this unit again, yet everything he does is “For the children”!

First and second mistakes.

Move to a real neighborhood where your children can grow up normally.
