Suddenly, This is a Good Idea?
- The Obama administration is considering funding many more police officers in public schools to secure campuses, a leading Democratic senator said, part of a broad gun violence agenda that is likely to include a ban on high-capacity ammunition clips and universal background checks.
The school safety initiative, one of several under consideration, would make federal dollars available to schools that want to hire police officers and install surveillance equipment, although it is not nearly as far-ranging as the National Rifle Association’s proposal for armed guards in every U.S. school.
The NRA and their supporters are "maniacs" for suggesting such a thing how many weeks ago? But suddenly, Federal dollars might become available and the dems embrace the idea as one of their own? What a bunch of fickle assholes.

When George Bush was president Crawford Texas had plenty of police no a very low crime rate, but with Obama as president the federal dollars are not flowing in the killing fields of Chicago, with rahm as mayor seems we get less wonder why?
The final paragraph, quoting yet one more self-righteous Progressive, should be especially cheering to your readers:
“What seems like a rational solution of let’s have more security in our schools is really the NRA argument — that you fight guns with guns,” said Judith Browne Dianis, co-director of the Advancement Project. “The introduction of police officers into schools has detrimental impact on young people."
The NRA is correct. The only way to stop a threat is to meet it with equal or greater force. Cameras won't do shit if a shooter enters a school. What we need is a good guy, in the school, with a weapon to meet the shooter head on. The kids in the schools are our most precious things in the world and no amount of money is too big to protect their defensless souls.
After 911 we armed the pilots and created countless levels of security costing billions and billions. It would cost much much less to have an armed police officer in the school rifle trained. The officer doesn't need to roam the halls with the weapon, but just be in the building and prepared. The kids are only in the schools 8 hours a day, if that, and off weekends. It's not unrealistic to do. This is the only fix. We need human beings to protect our schools not cameras. We see how good the cameras are on the chicago streets when it comes to stoping shootings and catching shooters.

Maybe they're not fickle assholes, so much as they are being responsive to the voice of their constituents, who are demanding that this option be made available.
Sounds like the monies will be available to those who want it, but police won't be forcibly inserted into situations where they are not wanted by the locals.

Something else to consider -- the Taft, California shooting.
Shooter had gotten into some kind of trouble prior to this incident when caught with a "list of those who had bullied him."
Let me be devil's advocate -- were the kids on the list spoken to? I doubt it.
Bullying is vicious today; even as a grown man, I don't like these groups of seven or eight smirking, knowing-looking teen boys, looking for the slightest variation to go to work on.
You should hear teen girls working on someone with a cell phone from five minutes ago, maybe wearing on Tuesday an item of clothing that fell out of favor on Monday.
Consider -- things were hard enough on the kid, he felt so sorely beset upon that he got down a 12 ga., I guess, and walked into the classroom, picked one out, and blasted him good. That is real major. Should not be allowed to go that far.
How long was the kid tormented, how much did this bother him, how many rejections did he get in maybe trying to do something about it before he became desperate?
Time for a serious national "anti-bullying initiative;" "Don't Do This Or We Will Whip Your Ass Good And Throw You Out Of School," that kind of thing.
If you work Security at a school bring a gun, Not a cute little 380 lcp or a snub nose.
Bunch of detached from reality, knee-walking, chair sniffing, self-congratulatory, trotskyite hypocrites!
Mybe the asshole can throw in a couple thousand coppers too, so McFuckstick doesn't close all the beaches.
Democrats are now, and always have been, a menace to Liberty
Chicago could use the extra officers but little rahm boy will divert them to be personal valets/bodyguards for favored members of his staff & council puppets.
Once again the ruling elite have spoken.
Via DRUDGE, Obama has signed a law which will give him LIFETIME Secret Service protection.
The norm for past president's has been 10/15 years, add this to his lifetime unlimited medical care, no ObamaCare for him, that's for the serfs, he'll be sitting pretty after he leaves office.
CCW, for you ? Fuck you peon, only for the likes of the Daleys, Quinn's, Rahms.
Now back to the beet fields for you, schnell!
How many principals last year in Chicago jumped on tiny dancers take the money and get rid of your school officer deal?
How long was the kid tormented, how much did this bother him, how many rejections did he get in maybe trying to do something about it before he became desperate?
Time for a serious national "anti-bullying initiative;" "Don't Do This Or We Will Whip Your Ass Good And Throw You Out Of School," that kind of thing.

Or how about the kid not grab a fucking gun and kill someone. How about he get a pair of boxing gloves, you pussy? What the hell is wrong with you? You sound like you're making excuses for this. If there's bullying, you take action with your fists, not a gun.
This is the new America. I can't take someone mouthing off to me so I'll grab a gun like a little pussy and start shooting. Fuck all of you sissy little bitches. Grow some balls already.
Teach your kids how to fight. Teach your kids how to shoot. Teach your kids right and wrong and how to stand up for themselves and others. That's what this country used to do. Now the communists have you so beaten down and pussified, you don't know how to behave like men and women any more.
They waited for a lot of the hoopla to die down then just took the NRA plan and tweaked it a little. Typical Obama.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
I agree with 0110. Bring a double stack 9mm at the minimum with a couple of extra mags.
Start with the Goffy Airport Police
Political Hack Dept that does what? walks around ORD and does nothing for safety
I think they called them maniacs for wanting to arm teachers which is a stupid idea.
Maybe they're not fickle assholes

Um Yeah they are, this idea was bashed repeatedly by the politicians.
Just saying but Chicago has had police officers in the Public Schools for quite sometime, hell it used to be its own unit. Yet Rahm thought this was the worst idea in the world. Mind you there are some lazy useless ass officers in the school, but they are there.
Be careful what you wish for. These school cops will eventually mushroom into the domestic TSA-on-steroids, an unconstitutional domestic "police force" answerable to Obama. It will become the army of brownshirts he once advocated, "equally funded with the military". When the citizen's guns are taken away, the rise of Obama's Fourth Reich will be complete.
This aint good news for Rahm. Because McGoofus & he wanted all school officers out the schools by next school year.
We already have background checks at FFLs.
Arrmed guards are only good for the school that HIS KIDS go to.
A lot of yellow-pinky libs are ass-hurt from trying to straddle the fence on this...
*Armed Police in schools have a detrimental effect on "our" children*
And when it becomes apparent that a hair on fire, bulge-eyed, stiff-dicked, sweaty-assed lunatic has breached a school, (or any other gun-free, victim laden zone) what the fuck does EVERYBODY want to see in a moment's notice?
*CUE: Cheesy-assed banjo, harmonica & kazoo fanfare*
ANSWER: Armed Police gettin' up in the school-house like a muthafuckah and hop to it...
FWIW, SCC?
The libs ARE PISSED because their hijacking the narrative to control the agenda has blown up so splendidly in their smug and self-satisfied faces.
Honestly... These people have shown time and again that they won't protect a damned thing, even children, if doing such doesn't square with their ideology and narrative.
*We'll put up signs...
>Gun Free Zone & We Mean It This Time! Damnit!<
And cameras to protect the kids, but no Cops or Good Guys with guns.*
Just WHO the fuck ARE these people?
America has been made to grow tits while apologetically and with hat in hand, seek concensus to it's own detriment with the lefty, cheese-nibbling euro-weenies.
They hate the very idea of American Exceptionalism.
This exceptionalism is wholly predicated on vigorous application of common sense principles of survival in the face of very real danger.
The libs say, "let's enact more laws."
The man of common sense says "let's take decisive action while enforcing the laws we already have."
See the difference?
The fuckin democrats will funnel money into this type of program to gain more voters. Give a stupid person something for free and you have a democratic voter for life.
donne trotters new security firm,.25 auto commandos to get multi million dollar cps contract.
Yes, the democrats just round up the usual suspects, " assault weapons". They and the media ignore the fact that the mother of the school shooter tried to get the boy committed for mental health reasons but was blocked by the ACLU and the courts in Connecticut. Gov. Quinn is closing prisons and instituting new early release programs. Yes, with mental cases roaming our streets along with way too many criminals and an unarmed population , Illinois will be an interesting palce to live in the next few years.

I carry a Walter PPK 380 and is a very good handgun. I really do not know what you are talking about.
Every decision maker should spend a day teaching/trying to teach in an urban school.
obama is a traitor!
Speaking of bullying, did anyone see the video of the Chicago teachers union president talking about the possibility in the future off cutting off heads? Makes you wonder if she needs her teaching certificate or if someone will file a complaint.
"Armed guards are only good for the school that [Obama's, Emanuel's] KIDS go to."

Sssh! Quiet!
People will think that there's a double standard operating here!

Everything else stands, but I think I really meant "time for parents to raise kids again."
Didn't need the "whole village" to raise a child when there was a mother and father around.
No employment for "social workers."

The guy with [allegedly] a rifle and two pistols, shooting out the front glass to get in.
Politicians are some of the biggest assholes you could ever imagine. Not all ,but most. Not bragging ,but I told this to my friends and family after Columbine. It's just common sense.
there are some lazy useless ass officers in the school,
It's a good thing there are no lazy, useless ass officers in beat cars!

God forbid, every latte drinking liberal knows you fight guns with gun control laws, programs, ordinances and celebrate with a nice claret and some brie on crackers.
What cowardly bastards. I just renewed my NRA membership for two years.

Many retired PO's are still trained and in good enough shape to provide security for lots of schools and would do it for free or cheaply. Same with former military.
How on earth did our fathers and grandfathers ever manage to put together a force of armed men with the stuff needed to ride crappy little boats into the jaws of death on the beaches of France in June 1944?
....Illinois will be an interesting palce to live in the next few years.

optimism becomes me.
Chalkie
02:32am is right, I would gladly donate time to a school, but I choose the weapons necessary for doing the job.Not something that rham or his ilk would want.
Put more cops in the schools and let kids see that the Police are good people. If it helps keep the kids safe, I'm all for it. When I was a kid, I always got a little better sense of security when I saw the "good guys" around, at school, at the store, or just driving down our street on patrol. But then I was raised by parents who understood the need for law enforcement and who would have kicked my butt if the Police ever had to come to my house because I did something wrong. Ahhh, the good old days.

1) They had men in those days, not "baby daddies."
2) The newspapers and radio weren't telling us how evil our country was for interfering in the internal affairs of the Third Reich.
3) Respect was earned by actions; it wasn't something to which people were entitled.
4) It wasn't our fault that Nazi people were killing other people; it was the Nazis' fault that they were killing other people.
5) No one joined up because they thought they'd get a free college education out of it.
