Remember, Not the Weather
- Two men were wounded, one fatally, in a shooting in the South Shore neighborhood this evening, police said. Two others were shot, one fatally, in a separate Englewood neighborhood attack.
The most recent shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Honore Street. One man died and another was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said, and he's expected to survive.
An earlier shooting took place about 6:13 p.m. in the 2000 block of East 71st Street — near Jeffery Boulevard —said Chicago Police News Affairs...
But hey, CAPS is back....that's good, right?

018 will go up for grabs this week shooter in Homicide on Sedgewick released with out charges.
Val Warner on the Chicago TV show Windy City Live said Wednesday morning, "There's a homocide everyday in Chicago." matter of factly.

Let me guess hiding in new caps facility bilking taxpayers out of more wasted millions!

Man in Don't Shoot campaign charged with kidnapping, robbery

A man who appeared on television this week saying the Don't Shoot initiative has helped him escape a life of crime was arrested Thursday in connection with a brutal, drug-related kidnapping and beating.
Jerome Jones, 30, of 1526 W. Widenham St. was charged with aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery and ordered held on $500,000 bond.

"I think I'm flying straight this time," he said in the aired segment and a write-up of the interview posted on the television station's website. "I don't see no turning back from this change because it's something I been needed."
Three days before that interview, Jones is accused of pistol-whipping a 67-year-old Hispanic man in the 1600 block of New York Avenue, binding him with duct tape and nylon rope, throwing him the trunk of a vehicle and driving him to an abandoned house adjacent to his own home in the 1500 block of Widenham Street.
There, the victim was beaten with a lead pipe and left bound in a closet. After more than five hours, the victim freed himself and fled to a nearby residence. When police arrived, he was bleeding, shaking and crying, according to a report on the incident.
Police said the victim was targeted in the incident but would not disclose the nature of the relationship between the victim, Jones and two other suspects. Police also have arrested Jarvis Logan, 18, of 810 S. Western Ave., but the third suspect, Zachary Jones, remains at large.
