Buy Ammo? Anger Management Time
- If a Florida Democrat has her way, anyone who tries to buy ammunition will have to first complete an anger management program. Critics are slamming the bill as a ridiculous and unconstitutional proposal to deal with gun violence.
Florida state Sen. Audrey Gibson (D-Jacksonville) introduced the bill on Saturday, which stipulates ammunition purchasers must go through a three-day waiting period to buy any ammo if they have not completed anger management courses. The bill would mandate that ammo buyers take the anger management course every 10 years.
Of course, Gibson claims that her legislation will keep police officers and the public safe.
But not safe from idiot politicians it would seem.

I would show up to the anger management class angry because some stupid law required it. Then they'd say I'm an angry person and need further treatment. I'll get even more pissed, and I'll be committed to an institution. Eventually, after I get out, I'll be jobless and homeless, living in a van down by the river. All because I wanted to buy some ammo. God bless America.

there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that says you must pay to play, that you must pay to exercise your rights. If that were the case, only the rich could afford to have rights guaranteed by the Constitution and we would surely be engaged in another revolution

I propose that every elected politician serve a jail term equal to that of the time served in office. Additionally, anyone who is not elected but serves at a high level be taxed at 75% for all income earned in the private sector after leaving their gov't gig.

Since when does one need a card to exercise those rights? But Illinois makes you get an FOID card or you are a criminal to them. Do you carry a First Amendment Freedom of Speech Card? Why not? If they can demand one for your Second Amendment rights, why not the First Amendment too?

...and if you take this just a little farther, you'll see that it will make you eligible for a "community employment initative" -- under the banner of some rev, of course, whose people will absorb 90% of the grant money -- which will provide "edusociopsychological training" for you to become an "anger management counselor," most of which job will involve sitting around in a group talking he-say-she-say, laughing loudly, and eating.
All you have to do when a "client" comes into the room is to clam up, act hostile, and try to keep him waiting in lines and filling out papers until he gives up and goes away.
...and send him to fifteen other "workers" and "managers" and "counselors" and "facilitators" and "coordinators," all in "centers" located in street-mural-painted buildings named after '60s radicals, located in really dangerous neighborhoods. Don't kill the job -- grow it for everyone!

About as useless as the waiting period on firearms. How about someone doesn't take the course, gets pissed off about waiting to make a purchase, and goes off the deep end and whacks the asshole(s) that came up with this piss poor idea?
This is precisely WHY you don't allow anyone to EVER come up with any "common sense" restrictions on your Rights. They never stop encroaching on them.

Nothing in the Constitution about the right to keep and bear ammo. Notice since the the WH/Biden meeting with retailers ammo has either been thru the roof on prices or is near unavailable. What better way to control guns than to make it difficult to obtain ammo in any sizable quantities. Unlike in 2008/2009 look for this drought to not suddenly get rain.
Notice all the the gun control measures popping up all over the nation in lieu of a national gun control law. Now Colorado wants to ban 12g. shotguns, along with other Draconian gun control measures. Missouri with its gun control. Oregon with its. Florida, New York and even Illinois with its progressive efforts to limit CCW. It is all about "nudging" the nation into the Left's agenda of gun control with little laws here and there until there is nowhere to exercise a Constitutional Right that explicitly states, "...shall not be infringed". The 2A is the only Amendment out of all the Amendments, or anywhere in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution, that has those four words. Apparently the Founding Fathers knew that government would in the future make an effort to limit or ban the citizenry's Right to "...keep and bear arms..." and thought it important enough to ensure to add that caveat. Little did they, or could have, anticipated progressives/socialists. Remember it was the Crown's effort to seize arms and powder that set off the "Shot heard round the world".
OK, I'll go with that course. Just as soon as there is an IQ test required for all state legislators in the 50 states.
I recell that US Congressman (Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.)) who was talking to a US Navy Admiral, head of the Pacific Fleet. Congressman Johnson (Democrat naturally) expressed his concerns over the US Marine Base moving to Guam and whether all those Marines might cause Guam to capsize. No fooling. The Admiral didn't miss a beat and told the congressman "We don't anticipate that."
Can you imagine, that congress has the power to declare war and one of their own thinks Guam might capsize if 8,000 Marines land there? After the guffaws died down the congressman's staff claimed the congressman was "only kidding."
The congressman is known around his office as "Rep. Dumbell."
