Dog Homicide
The Tribune actually wasted electrons on this story:
- Police are investigating after someone fatally shot a dog this afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side this afternoon.
The dog was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound about 1 p.m. in the 5100 block of South Ada Street, said police News Affairs [...].
The dog did not survive and police are investigating, the officer said.
And News Affairs actually gave a statement on it.

this dog walked on four legs, had a tail, and didn't have a link card.
You have no idea -- "Animal rights' training-groups-without- portfolio are "expanding their legitimacy" and offering training to police SWAT/entry -- "how not to hurt the five pit bulls that may be between you and the back door..."
Tops on every working copper's mind, I'm sure.
I have an exponential amount of sympathy for that poor (4-legged) dog than the violent well-deserved deaths of some of those 2-legged mutts.
This story actually troubles me more than hearing about most of the 2-legged mutts that have a habit of turning up dead in Chi-raq
Is the Crystal Ball unit on the hook for this or do canines not count?

Poor dog did nothing to no one. Was this a message to the owner, or was the dog just barking all the time. It was definitely not an accident.
Not even dogs are safe in the South Side ghetto. I know shitheads are going North these days but still, no South Side for me.

The stories of a young man that was killed but was just turning his life around is a good riddance for society in my eyes. Shooting a dog? That makes me sad.

sorry scc, this will be the first time i can recall i am going to disagree with you. i have a german sheperd myself and he means a lot to me. i too have more sympathy for the four-legged animals as opposed to the two-legged mutts. i would feel a lot more comforted if our resources were spent on finding this pup's killer than any shitbird's shooter.
The dog was in the process of turning its life around. In fact he was due to start medical school in a few months.

Members of the animal rights group PETA will be hired to walk dogs to and from their hydrants in an effort to stem the violence.

President Obama has chimed in on this important event stating that if he had a dog it would have looked like the dead dog.
Thought they would have taught you this in the academy: violence to animals ALWAYS escalates to violence toward people.
Not even dogs are safe among savages. Hope the dog went quick without a ounce of pain. Unfortunately, cook county judges won' care since they don't live on that block.
I am glad they are investigating this dog's shooting. I feel more sorry for this dog than many of these gangbanger criminals who get shot.

I guess with the body count always on the rise and everyone getting acclimated, you have to be creative in selling newspapers.
On a related note did you see where the judge at 26th street let the shitbird go who filmed himself and his dog tornado? Spinning the poor dog from his collar on a leash until you could only see a blur. The judge said no one said the dog was injured by the event...smh
RIP Lassie, or Bowser, or whatever our name is.

I happen to like dogs. I hope for justice for all it's litter mates. I could care less about the other animals out there killing each other.
