We See Dead People....
Everywhere! Or at least on the Cook County Morgue website:
- For the first time, the Cook County medical examiner's office has posted photos of unclaimed bodies on their website in an effort to help identify them.
The program is generating some controversy because of the graphic images, but for the sake of people missing loved ones, this is a decision where the medical examiner believes the ends justify the means.
The site contains information about when the bodies were found and where, along with as much identifying information as possible—including, in some cases--photos of the victim's face.
The site is here. The Unidentified Persons are in the right hand menu bar. A grand total of three bodies have pictures posted at the moment, but there are spaces for dozens more.
As for the so-called "controversy," you use the tools you have available to identify unknown persons. There's tons worse out there on the internet.

How many will soon have Facebook accounts and be registered for the next election?
Wouldn't you shit if you clicked on a picture and you knew the person???!!!
The adopt-a-stiff program.
Sounds bad but you use whatever tools are available to you. Nothing has worked so far so I see no foul here...
If you claim them, that means they're officially dead.
Link, SNAP, disability & Section 8 stop, then someone will have to work for a living.
Good thing they can still vote.
This is going to be a hit!
Grandpa?
Fairly gruesome, but what are the odds that the contact person for missing persons at Cook County is named Doe?
All the more reason why we need a national ID system. Here us what will happen, Some one who knows them, or family members will purposely not claim them, but will start, or continue to pocket government checks in their name, or work the ID scam that has been problematic in retirement homes when people pass away.
Sheeeit, those pics ain't nothin' compared to a two-month old stinker after sixty 90 degree days!
Ah, the good old days.
I remember we had an extremely ripe one, and the neighbors were gathering on the lawn and sidewalk. I warned them they should move far, far away or they'd be sorry.
They didn't move, and they were sorry--I recall one macho man urping all over the sidewalk.

Talk about your destiny being written out before birth.
First time I called years ago and he answered, I just KNEW it was a joke. Then I figured he must've had his name changed out of some kind of macabre career pride. But I guess "John Doe" had to come from somewhere.
Momento Mori indeed!
