More IRS Nonsense

All sorts of time to target Tea Party people and conservative groups, but nothing for this:
  • The Internal Revenue Service sent 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to “unauthorized” alien workers who all used the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

That was not the only Atlanta address theoretically occupied by thousands of “unauthorized” alien workers receiving millions in federal tax refunds in 2011. In fact, according to a TIGTA audit report published last year, four of the top ten addresses to which the IRS sent thousands of tax refunds to “unauthorized” aliens were in Atlanta.

The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.
And that's just in one city. There doesn't seem to be any indication that this is a massive apartment complex or a PO Box.

They also seem to have $70 million for bonus money:
  • The series of furloughs have been considered necessary because of the extraordinary challenges facing the agency in the wake of spending cuts and sequestration. National Treasury Employees Union President Colleen M. Kelley has soundly criticized the move for months, saying, “[f]urloughing IRS employees is further evidence of the ongoing damage sequestration is causing across the country.”

There is, the agency claims, simply not enough money to keep the doors open.

Except, that is, for an extra $70 million.

Despite a directive from the Obama administration for agencies to cancel discretionary bonuses because of automatic spending cuts, the IRS is moving ahead with $70 million in employee bonuses.
Amazing.

Millions of dollars to one address did not send up red flags, but what a religious group seeking tax exempt status said in their prayers required documentation and investigation! Is anyone paying attention to this outrageous conduct by the IRS?

I don't get it. The sequester means that they spend more money than last year but not as much as they expected to spend...and they are out of money?

Good thing doctors don't work that way. "We saw a cancer tumor, and it was smaller than we thought, so we left it alone."

This is Chicago-style politics brought to Washington DC and the country at large.

Promoting a product of the Chicago machine to the White House will be proven to be among the biggest mistakes this country has made

What a Country.

Go to work, raise kids, scrape by, pay your "fair share" in taxes, and find out that shit like this is just business as usual.

And just think of how many $3500 hotel suites this can buy!

And not IRS, but FEMA? maybe? --- They were out on the west side giving out flood assistance $ to people who sustained damage during the rains last month. More $ down the drain - no documentation required, no questions asked except for "name?" "address?" And didn't bat an eye if they said they lived on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU FLOOD ON THE 2ND FLOOR?

Do you think that maybe, just maybe now, all those refunds going to the SAME ADDRESS might have triggered an inquiry or otherwise suggested that something was afoot?

Hmmnnn....
