Poor Tio
- In the wake of accusing him of domestic battery, the wife of the former director of CeaseFire Illinois filed for divorce this week, citing irreconcilable differences.
Alison Hardiman filed her petition Tuesday in the Circuit Court of Cook County, nearly three weeks after her husband, Tio Hardiman, was arrested and jailed overnight on charges of beating her after an altercation at their Hillside home.
The irreconcilable difference is that he like beating the crap out of women and she didn't like taking a whupping. Hopefully, she doesn't start confusing her civil divorce court dates with the upcoming criminal court dates that might let Tio off the hook.

The president of the Chicago Teachers Union charged that racism and “rich white people” are to blame for the immense financial crisis facing the Chicago Public Schools.
In her remarks to an audience at the upscale City Club of Chicago, union boss Karen Lewis strongly criticized Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. She also urged the city schools to follow the strategic blueprint of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
“Members of the status quo — the people who are running the schools and advising the mayor on how to best run our district — know what good education looks like because they have secured it for their own children in well-resourced public and private institutions,” the Dartmouth graduate charged.
“When will there be an honest conversation about the poverty, racism and inequality that hinders the delivery of a quality education product in our school system?” Lewis also asked in the speech. “When will we address the fact that rich, white people think they know what’s in the best interest of children of African Americans and Latinos—no matter what the parent’s income or education level.”
Wonder if his share of the $1,000,000 paid out is fair game for divorce settlement. Ironic if the city funds went to enrich his wife.

Karen is out for teachers salary, pension, and working conditions. Too bad Shields doesn't have the same fire in his speech for our interests. It's just bombastic speech. People get it, too bad our guy doesn't seem to.

What if Shields went out and said what the problem with crime in Chicago? Maybe name the race of the majority of criminals, see how that would fly

You should also read a position paper published by the teachers union last year that called for less young white teachers in the public schools. Looks like they want their own brand of affirmative action. I would also ask them not to hire any education graduates from Chicago State. That is REALLY hurting things in the schools !!
sort of on topic: heard on the radio today that Tio lied! (Gasp!) on his application for UIC. When asked if he had ever been convicted of a crime, he answered no...
He should just find a bitch that can take a punch.
