Delayed Deaths Up Weekend Total
- Two men critically wounded in weekend shootings died Monday, raising the death toll for 2013’s most violent weekend to eight. At least 39 other people were wounded in shootings across the city, authorities said.
The most recent fatality stemmed from a drive-by shooting early Monday in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood.
And the "Theory of 10 Shot Daily" seems to be in need of some slight adjustments:
- At least eight people were shot Monday on the South and West sides, authorities said.
We may rename it the "Theory of 9 Shot Daily" at some point.

Omg. I just had to read that twice. I thought it said 9 shot Daley. I couldn't stop smiling, then I read it again and said to myself "oh, who cares."
What we need is a specialized unit like MSF or TRU. Bring back MSF and TRU. I was an aggressive hard working and hard charging officer.

Inherited the house;extremely cheap property taxes and;no dependents. The money I'm saving and investing will pay for my retirement home in Sedona and I will literally ride off into the sunset. Adios amigos!!!

As much as many people scream and shout that Chicago is going to become the next Detroit, Chicago is actually in pretty good shape other than the ghettos. Apparently the Economist believes that Chicago is actually still gaining strength as an international economical leader. I realize that this isn't everything in contract negotiations, but let's hope the union reminds the city of this as the city cries poor, and offers negative economic growth projections for the city moving forward.

Went to get my city sticker on archer AVE office and observed a Mexican woman who works there picking some Hispanics out of line and bringing them to the front! Maybe after my visit to city hall not long ago and talking to employees of hat office seems Susie is only promoting and hiring Hispanics! Is that not racism? Don't get me wrong I'm a minority also but things like she is doing are outrageous! As matter of fact why do we even need this wasteful office? Doesn't revenue duplicate many of the same functions? But yet they can't fund police pensions as more money is shuffled off!

They are doing the same near Area 2. Traffic jam on 111th street all day long starting before 8:30 a.m. No street parking to speak of. 005 officers directing traffic. Hope the give away ends soon. The "no proof needed" explains a lot.

I dunno. I listen to Zone 6 and hear the backlogs. Calls 1, 2, 3 hours old and know that there are VRIs sitting "in their box" blocks away trying to stay awake and unable to be part of the solution.
I don't know what is right or wrong. But it all just seems slightly...insane.

City Clerk shouldn't have an enforcement division at all for starters.
Between Revenue and CPD...more than enough on the streets daily.
And in all honesty the Department of Finance does enough and could easily handle City Sticker production and sales.

Two chief's from major cities watched us Alpha' do our weekly training and that blew them out of the water. Alpha girls get down and dirty and can and will be out in force on the streets next month.
CPD wants our CEO back and will make her a commander of a strike force unit.
If she gets to pick the people, which will be mostly Alpha', the deal will be done and watch the ctime drop.
You retired females can sit in a bar all day knowing the city is safe again.
FYI, we had over 40 males wanting to join us as Alpha'. If they make the cut, we will take them in and see if they can conform to our standards.
I figure maybe 3 or 4 can make the cut.
We are reaining with female PPO' June 21 at 1800 behind the TD.

the alpha girls...the beta girls.....guess what...get your butt into a beat car, and answer calls......on midnights, and afternoons.....
Us A;pha girls did our year oe two in the district. The bosses seen us as superior and had us sent to hard hitting units.
We have more stamia then most coppers becuase we train the Alpha girl way. Our CEO will be interviewed next Monday on chan. 11regarding our elite group of SWAT trained girls.
