Oh Ed, You Sleazeball

Amazingly, he continues to hold his job and probably won't face any ethical, civil or criminal penalties:
  • Ald. Edward M. Burke, the most powerful member of Chicago’s City Council, is also Edward M. Burke, attorney at law. His specialty: getting property-tax cuts and refunds for an A-list of business clients that includes Commonwealth Edison, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Avis Rent a Car and dozens of other companies that do business with City Hall.

As alderman, Burke helped pass a measure in 2002 that sharply limited City Hall’s ability to get in the way when his law clients go before an obscure state agency appealing for refunds of property taxes they thought were too high.

Burke (14th) was hardly the only alderman to vote for the resolution, which passed 47-0 and got so little attention at the time that even the head of the state agency it affects says he was unaware of it until now.

But you can bet Ed and his law partners knew exactly what they were doing. How many millions has this cost taxpayers?

It cost all of us our pensions and our healthcare.

Can't break a contract with Tio oh hell naw it's like the parking meter deal.

But when it comes to pension contracts and our healthcare why "it's necessary" and it's not breaking a contract -- hell naw it's reform and it will save.

Saving is good. Saving is noble, honorable.

Too lazy to vote. to organize and get your friends, neighbors, relatives to vote. Well, just deal with the corruption and the family royalty that is created then.

Enjoy maggie daley park in retirement and the Depaul basketball stadium and the river walk park for the billion dollar real estate moguls -- if they let the old homeless coppers loiter there.

Ed will die a rich, respected, democrat boss. But you have to wonder, what does he see when he looks in a mirror? Honor? No, Virtue? No, Honesty?, no, Decency?, no, An ethical man? No, An honorable man? No.A good man? Hell no. Being such a total conniving scumbag, it's a wonder he didn't go much further in democrat politics than just another grasping slimeball, like Richie Daley.

The least we can do is vote them out. Vote every sitting politician out of office.

This scam has been going on forever in Crook County. The county raises your real estate taxes. You hire a lawyer firm that specializes in lowering your taxes. Your taxes then get lowered and you pay the firm their percentage of the savings. If your taxes were unjustly raised in the first place you wouldn't have to hire these sleezeball firms in the first place.

I hasn't cost the tax payers anything. In fact, it has saved the tax payers who use the services of those companies money because those services now cost less due to less overhead cost.

Businesses do not pay taxes. The people who use their goods and services pay those taxes in the form of higher costs.

Can't break a likely corrupt contract with some sleazy connected firm who stole the City's parking meters, no no, can't break that, but they can tell us the Illinois Constitution can be shit on when it comes to our pensions and health care. Those words on paper voted on by the legislature and signed by every lying thieving goddamned politician in power at the time can be ignored because the pensions are "unsustainable" but that crooked parking meter contract? Oh no, rock solid, we are stuck with it for 75 years. Oh my, why isn't that parking meter contract "unsustainable?"

Where is loudmouth suckhole Lawrence Msall on the parking meter contract? A couple of billion down the tubes there. That must be "sustainable."

Fucking horseshit goddamn city, fucking horseshit goddamn county, fucking horseshit goddamn state. Fucking horseshit goddamn politicians!

If everyone tore up that ethics declaration and simply wrote FUCK YOU on it or the computer version, how the hell would they enforce thousands of non-complying employees?

I'll pay the $20 just for the satisfaction of submitting mine with FUCK YOU on it.
