Crime During 8:00 PM Hour Drops
- Six people have been shot tonight in about an hour citywide, officials said.
About 6:15 p.m., someone shot a 21-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman in the 1300 block of West Washburn Avenue in the city's University Village neighborhood, police News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss said.
[...] In a separate shooting at 6:12 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Loomis Street, a 23-year-old man was shot and critically wounded, said Langford, who added that the man was also taken in critical condition to Stroger.
About 6:20 p.m. in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side, a 17-year-old boy apparently accidentally shot himself in the groin in the 11600 block of South Wentworth Avenue, police said.
[...] At 6:47 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was shot in the foot in the 7500 block of South Ingleside Avenue, Langford said. The child was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, he said.
At 7:13 p.m., a person was shot in the arm in the 7200 block of South Wabash Avenue and was taken in good condition to Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center Langford said.
Thankfully, through the use of CompStat, some creative counting and a massive redeployment of resources, shootings during the 7-o'clock hour were down around 80%, with the crime rate returning to zero during the 8-o'clock hour. A press conference was immediately scheduled in time for the 10-o'clock news, but someone forgot to notify the media. This will be addressed in the morning.

Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy purportedly slurred to near North side bartender, Biff Lanceman, late Sunday night.
Supt. McCarthy tried to make a note on that on a bar napkin, likely for his weekly Monday morning press conference the next day. But all Mr Lanceman could see was, First Drink Bloody Marys. McCarthy then passed out, fell off his bar stool, and was carried out to his car by his driver, Lanceman said.
UPDATE: Late yesterday this reporter was contacted by Biff Lanceman who inquired about the Supt's well being. It seems that this is the sixth time McCarthy has done this. Biff is beginning to think this passing out by the Supt may just be a ploy to avoid paying his bar tabs. Biff said he would appreciate a phone call so this matter could be settled.
I must make my usual inquiry.

However it's only a matter of "when" a truly innocent child catches a bullet while in the safety of their booster seat while waiting for a red light. Quite possibly near the intersection of Cullom and Central given the metastasizing ghetto cancer.

After speeding away upon shooting at another motorist,not getting caught,only to receive a ticket via tiny dancer for not maintaining the legal speed limit,the gun the homocide unimportant,get him for the Rico speeding ticket felony act,put him away for life,some innocent child could have been struck! Why don't they just pick an hour or two, and compare it to last year and claim that crime is down.

Regarding tact team start time change
Tact teams should be disbanded and those blue Jean wearing crybabies dumped back to the watch. The beasts aint scared of tact teams which is why they shoot up the place 24 hours a day seven days a week wherever they feel like it.
