"Validation Testing"
There have to be a few of the 700 involved officers who read the blog - any explanation?
- The Department released BOP #13-0020.10 and 13-0020.11 on Tuesday, July 30, 2013. These orders reference over seven hundred Officers who will be required to participate in a “validation testing session”. These same Officers will be evaluated by a supervisor. The Lodge was made aware of the existence of these orders today.
An inquiry was sent to the Management and Labor Affairs Section today to clarify what these orders actually mean as we are unable to answer many of the questions posed by our members. The Lodge is awaiting a response. Please see the Inquiry Letter for complete details.
CEB Valtera seems to be a "workforce survey" company, maybe something along the lines of "the Bobs" from Office Space? Someone mentioned it could be for the coming entrance exam? We have no idea, but we can only imagine the tens-of-thousands, maybe even hundreds-of-thousands of dollars spent on another wave of efficiency experts coming in here and attempting to change the bureaucracy that is the CPD.

I was told not to leave the box, don't arrest anyone, if you find a warrant - call TAC and eat your lunch within one mile of the box all to be highly visible. The "BOSS'es" needs need to figure out what VRI IS? I was told one night, "I you see a policemen shot outside the box, don't go until you have my permission to leave." Is VRI highly visible in the box at all times or is it activity orientated? Activity is hard with no pdt and no time to enter contact cards until I go back to work. My regular boss does not want me putting in VRI "activity" during my regular duty hours, either. It seems VRI has an identity crisis. I think the real reason is the $$$.

This Department is currently being run by City Hall. The hall is being run by a bunch of no nothing kids who are working there to embellish their resume and this stuff looks good on a resume. Every half baked idea is coming from a text book written by someone who doesn't know squat about running something like the city.
The test the officers are being called for is for the next entrance exam. Apparently, officers are being used to test the entrance exam to see if it is valid.
Wonder what will happen if all the PO fail it. Should be interesting.

VRI requires a small amount of activity right now to qualify to work it, but there is nothing mandating that you get activity while actually working at VRI......yet!!!
Plans are in the works to kick people out of VRI who don't do anything. Looks like it will be implemented in October

Lt. Anderson at VRI told me I have to do SOMETHING while doing my VRI shift. A parker, a contact card, a curfew or I probably won't get VRI.
This is a horrible dilemma for me because I am a do nothing and never really did crybaby and the thought of actually having to do "a" f'in contact card to be able to come sleepy sit for 8 hours in the hood, (where 99x out of a hundred, nothing's happening) for 330 after tax just makes me wanna cry and whine as vigorously as a bitch @ss copper can possibly do!!!
This is heartbreaking.

If you have to work three jobs then you need to quit one and go to a class on budgeting money. Maybe think about sending the old lady work too. It's nobodies fault but yours that you have to work three fucking jobs. They have this thing called midnights. It's great, you can have a spouse work a normal job and you can watch the kids. No day care and two incomes.

I concur. I am one of several thousand policemen, who also pay $540 a year for the FOP to do the right thing. Here's a suggestion....forget the hall meetings and conduct a virtual meeting. More people could "attend" on a flexible schedule. While you're at it, offer an opt out to the paper news bulletin. Send it electronically to those who elect to receive it that way. Save our $ and save paper. Rant over.

TWO thumbs up for the FOP app for my smart phone- good attempt, but it still doesn't work properly i.e. ability to keep track of my Time etc.
I would suspect that FOP would argue against a total elimination of the FOP Newsletter citing that the older retiree's look forward to receiving a hard copy, or that they are not tech savy enough, BUT I would disagree. My email box receives several emails daily from retires containing everything from jokes, nudies and pension related items.

File an EEOC complaint asap. there is a time limit, so get on it fast and get as many officers hurt by this to file. Check their site . EEOC is located at 500 West Madison. File early and do so asap. I and others waited regarding a incident regarding an idiot supervisor that violated us and we lost out because of filing time. File soon is required.
The city and supervisors need to wake up and watch their mouths.
All officers need to file in anything regarding be subjected to this crap.

Ok I have an Idea.... FlOP uses the lame excuse of .. Nobody goes to the meetings. Lets flood that shithole next meeting. Lets really let them have it. Some of these coppers are like the idiot citizen you're trying to give a play,but they refuse to accept it. The Lt. is trying to tell you goofs you and the program are being monitored. If you have to work three jobs then you need to quit one and go to a class on budgeting money. Maybe think about sending the old lady work too. It's nobodies fault but yours that you have to work three fucking jobs. They have this thing called midnights. It's great, you can have a spouse work a normal job and you can watch the kids. No day care and two incomes...
Another kool aid drinkin fool. Yea that's exactly what we do. And we have a nice fat bank account Too. You stay on until your 63. By that time I will be retired and living life away from here. Far far away!!

I am going to live life after I get out of this shithole. Those are goals. Im sorry I don't hang out in cop bars so I can tell the same old boaring story for 35 years. Then drop dead 6 months after I retire. I have a nice house, nice cars, college is paid for, and I will have a life outside of this department. You see...
