- The ABC7 I-Team uncovers a hidden danger lurking on school Safe Passage routes: sex offenders. Gangs and bullets aren't the only threats facing Chicago children walking to school along safe passageways. The ABC7 I-Team found numerous safe passage routes mapped out by Chicago school officials that direct students through a gauntlet of sex offenders, some who assaulted children.
The I-Team cross-checked home addresses for convicted sex-offenders against Safe Passage routes that children now walk every day.
Bright yellow signs and adults on lookout police on patrol: everyone watching for the obvious.
You know who's fault this is, right? The government!
- Even with all that they have to worry about, these parents are still outraged.

Check the stats--there are 1,200 -- 1,400 people on parole at any given time in 011. So that means how many convicted felons? About a gabillion?

Well, what do these parents think is going on? These sex offenders move right back into the community that they originally came from. The parents should be walking their young children to school and picking them up,but the city has to hire people to do this for 10 bucks an hour. Shame on the members of the " community". The other part of this is the fact that sex offenders of children cannot be cured and should never be let out of jail, never. But, that would be politically incorrect.

About 2 weeks prior to the start of the school year we did a search warrant in 007.. The target of the warrant, a convicted felon, said that he was going on an interview to be a safe passage worker.. Priceless

Realistically, nobody set these children up as bait for sex offenders. Pull up a map of registered sex offenders in Chicago and you will find it's impossible to map a sex-offender-free route for children in low income areas to get to school. ANY school. Their old school or their new 'welcoming' school.
Everybody should remember the stated purpose of these stupid routes with signage was to ensure the kids wouldn't be jumped because they now had to cross gang territories to get to their new schools. Rahm and his publicity crew should have just assigned extra security to the general areas and shut up about guaranteeing safe passage. What a farce this has turned into.
The government lets convicted felons vote and run for office, right? Why not have sex offenders have safe passage jobs? What better a job than rolling out of bed and walking down your front porch and being on post. Even better yet: Most will still be sitting on the porch from the night before still drinking their 40 oz. and they can conduct Safe Passage from their porch.
The routes seem racist to me; racially profiled route. I live in Beverly and I don't have a route near me. Funny how that 'racial profiling' thing works.

Ladies and gentlemen 102,000 workers have gone missing from the Illinois labor force since Jan 2013.
While the media boast their job creation figures month after month telling us all about the non-farm payroll there is another number the BLS tracks and it's labeled under the labor force data as EMPLOYMENT.
Employment in Illinois has been falling at an average of 20,000 a month since Jan 2013 , here check it out..>

The reason I want to file a missing persons report is that if you lose 102,000 people that are working one would expect a significant rise in the unemployment numbers and well guess what!
The number of unemployed in Illinois has only risen by 10,000 people over those five months!
Lost 102,000 jobs and only roughly 10,000 of them show up to ask for unemployment??? Pretty strange don't ya think?
Then look over at the BLS numbers for the size of the civilian labor force and compare Feb 2013 to July 2013. We just didn't lose the jobs we have 100,000 people that have left the workforce in Illinois over the last 5 months.
So they left the workforce. They left their jobs and therefore are not counted as unemployed!!
WHERE DID THEY GO??
We are talking about 1.5% of Illinois workforce has disappeared.
If we continue dropping 20,000 a month like we have over the last 5 months we are talking about a 4% annual loss of the labor force in Illinois.
Can the state fund it's operations with another 4% of the people gone without more taxes, fines, fees?

When the lost in the number of EMPLOYED and Civilian Labor force fist started we saw a jump of 30,000 people in the unemployed column. Then in April as we were still bleeding jobs and labor force size something happened. The number of UNEMPLOYED reversed direction, even declining a time or two as the outflow continued surging.
