Guilty

  • The family of Chicago police Officer Richard Francis dropped their heads Wednesday night as they heard a jury had convicted a woman with a reported history of mental illness of the veteran police officer’s 2008 murder.

Jurors deliberated for about five hours before finding Robin Johnson, 50, guilty of first-degree murder of Francis. That carries an automatic life sentence, along with aggravated discharge of a firearm toward another police officer.
Thanks to everyone who showed up. Rest in peace Officer Francis.

here's another question how are we going to know if our test was even handed in now before it's thrown out or worse. WTF.

While we can't call this justice, at least Rick's family knows this person will never have the opportunity to do this to another person in her lifetime.

Justice, of course, would mean Rick was still here with us, regaling midnights with his service stories, his honesty and that great smile. Justice would be seeing him tweak his partners and giving his little shots to the young pups. Justice would be seeing him accept that retirement gift at some rental hall.

So this will have to do. It's going to be a long, long time before any of us is lucky enough to know another Rick Francis. He was genuinely one of the good guys.

Remember the CETA employees from years ago? We were told not to name check them. Too many warrants.

The sad thing in most craphole districts, the station supervisor still allows assholes like this person hang out in front of or inside the lobby of the station. As usual, nothing has been learned. It can happen again. A great example is the female nut that's been hanging in front of and inside 007 has domestics with imaginary people.

The "advocates" were already on the news calling this a tragedy for all involved and calling for treatment instead of prison.

I don't care how crazy somebody is, they all know what they are doing. I don't buy the excuse they didn't know they were doing.

The coppers in 019 were nice to this woman, let her sleep in the foyer and gave her food all the time. She repaid them by doing this.

I'm just glad the Cook County Jury saw through the BS defense that was put up and convicted this useless blight on society.

I had the honor of being in the same recruit class as Ricky, and he was the same funny, sarcastic, witty and honest in the Academy as he was when I last saw him in the lot of (now Old) Area 3/019 years and years later.
You are correct, justice was NOT served, his family had to endure 5 years of pain to see his killer brought to justice, and it still won't bring Rick back to those he loved so much and those who miss him very day.
Rest in peace, Brother.

OT: A Pontiac police officer was killed in an accident on Interstate 55 early overnight, according to authorities.

Mayor Bob Russell said he was notified about the fatal crash around 12:30 a.m. He had no other details.

Condolences to his family and co-workers.

Too bad this retarded state got rid of the death penalty(thanks ryan you asshole) because I would volunteer to put this worthless scum out of OUR misery. It wouldn't cost taxpayers a dime because I would pay for the bullet myself! To the Francis family, while this doesn't make anything right or better, may God bless you all for what you've had to endure.

Dear scc: whoever is posting regarding the test should be ashamed of themselves. Show some respect.
I didn't have the honor of ever meeting Officer Francis and it was my loss because it appears he was loved and respected by many. Thank you for your service Office.

I blame the psychiatrists who are the worst doctors in the medical field. Environment plays a role in mental illness and gangbangers roaming the streets assaulting the mentally ill does not help matters. This is a tragedy for everyone involved.

O.T. SCC but I loved how the news stations were all showing how city council had McDrunkadunk on the hot seat and was blasted by an alderman and McStupid was trying to talk and was being hushed by the chairman. It was Freaking hilarious and I was laughing, thinking to myself, hmmmm Now he knows what its like to sit on the hot seat. Is this how it goes during compstat thursdays? Now he knows what it's like when he talks down to the command staff up on the hot seat. Hey McJersey how did it feel?

Sounds more like stupidity or nervousness. The defendant's name is Robin.
