Nicely Done

  • A man who holed himself and a woman up inside an apartment following a domestic incident has been arrested and the situation is under control this evening in the Rogers Park neighborhood, police said.

Police were summoned to an apartment in the 1300 block of West Birchwood Avenue for a call of a domestic disturbance at 2:06 p.m., said police News Affairs [...].

Officers got there and found a man had barricaded himself inside an apartment with a woman.

[...] she was able to escape and was taken to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment.

At 5:50 p.m., the barricaded man was taken into custody and taken to an area hospital to be checked out....
Cops fine, victim safe, bad guy in custody - we think that qualifies.

I'm not that familiar with Rogers Park but I hear it's almost like a tale of two cities. Which side was involved here?

Dear SCC - When the next 90 days or so hits, start posting up any and all of the concealed carry users defending themselves from crimes.

More specifically spotlighting the majority where people AREN'T shot.

All five TRU teams then went to the station to inventory the weapon with its 5 bullets (1) per team, Inventory the one bag of weed they found, and tell stories of how they woulda shot him if they were there first.

THis incident went on for 3 hrs. Who were the sgts and other bosses on scene ? This should have been an HBT Job. Period, it doesn't matter if progress was being made with Tac guys talking to the bad guy, It is not an ego trip, but SWAT has the equipment, and Negotiators have been taught to do this job. It is not owrth getting a PO hurt because they think they can do the job.
