The kerfuffle between the 011 District Commander and aldercreature Jason "Gotta Have a Black Guy" Ervin seems a bit more involved than the recent newspaper coverage would hint at. Check out this portion of the narrative from the Case Report generated immediately after the altercation:

Boo hoo hoo - the commander (who Ervin didn't want) won't return his phone calls, so he gets Barb West to make a fake appointment and tags along. He then puts on a typical ghetto show with the chest bumping and the fake outrage and the "What's your problem?" bullshit, while the real problem is he's pissed a commander won't kiss his ample ass.
We don't know why he's bitching - he's got Barb West asking "How high Alderman?" when he calls the tune. Isn't one commander enough?

This type of individual, er, aldercreature needs to control everything and everybody. It is considered by modern psychologists to be a cover for feeling inferior. This is incurable and can only be curd by not being elected again or illness. Usually noted as a facade for same reasons. Damn, Ervin is lucky he did not bump his jelly belly into me. I fall down, hit the ground call for CFD and go to DR. The DR ask what happened? Well DR, Alderman Ervin threatened me and Struck me with his belly causing me to fall down in garage and hit my head on the concrete. All would be documented by the DR in his notes.
Ervin would have to list all his possessions in the following lawsuit.

The alderman wanted to know if he " could do an¥thing?"-- I suggested he go the preliminary¥ hearing. He hung up while he was cussing at me. The alderman called the DC- who called me and thanked me. DC was Doug Bolling-- a real ly nice man.
One is unintentional two is battery three is agg battery if told to back off and an ass kicking to go with it.Also Barb West should be listed as a witness and if she refuses to cooperate a cr number obtained and stripped and to call back.

Somehow the populace has not noticed that in a cost cutting move the City is consolidating police districts but we still have 50 alderman.
There is absolutely no need for 50 alderman. 50 alderman is an anarchism from the 19th century. Each alderman having a million dollar plus budget is absurd. 15-20 of these guys would be plenty and have the added benefit of allowing the US Attorney time to prosecute violent criminals.

We need a city ordinance on the books prohibiting all elected or appointed aldermen from going anyplace in a district or area except the front desk. If an alderman needs to contact command staff they should contact someone in the supe's office who is tasked with dealing with the City Council members.
All other attempts should be referred to IAD. You want to make police commanders autonomous from aldermanic machinations? Forbid them from contacting the Police Commanders.
Think the 5 or 6 inside people are appointed by the president, the ones that are elected keep their office, but it doesnt guarantee them and inside spot at FOP
Post scores or merit of all current exempts and captains
Most of us will be shocked if more than 10% were promoted by test scores and not merit.
Bill if you continue to run I will be the first here to say that you need to sign an affidavit promising not to over rule the will of the membership and you will not bring up Kevin Graham, Jim Bailey, Sid Davis, Rich Aguilar, or Saul Del Rivero. Same goes for Dean.

Here's an idea- how about doing an investigation into why all our squad cars are being tampered with in the district parking lots, lug nuts missing, emergency lights missing, etc. and numerous personal vehicles of officers being vandalized in the district garage. Investigate why nothing is done and why security is so lax not only in our parking facilities but our stations as well. Do you people need a fking bomb to blow up before you take interest in the security issues? One of the largest police depts in the country and an officer can't even keep his car secured in a lot while on duty. But they will spare no expense to investigate some bs ghetto drama with an alderman who will most likely join the ranks of several before him under federal investigation, and a report that anyone can read because it is public record. Nothing but a bunch of fools running this half assed operation.

Speaking of politics it's amazing how Dougherty is trying to make the focus of the run off Dean Angelo Jr. I guess it makes sense because Bill can't explain why he didn't show some leadership and send the retro letter. Bill doesn't want to talk about how much FOP Money is being spent on sexual harassment lawsuits. Bill doesn't want to talk about Donahues $75,000 salary and what exactly does he do for the money. There's pictures of George Bush INTENTIONALLY chest bumping graduates at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
They all look pretty happy about that being graduation and commissioning day and all. I suppose it's a pilot thing.
I don't suppose anyone there would want to do that with BHO.

There is absolutely no need for 50 alderman. 50 alderman is an anarchism from the 19th century. It wasn't that long ago that it was treated as a part time job, and patrolman made more than an alderman. Each alderman having a million dollar plus budget is absurd. 15-20 of these guys would be plenty and have the added benefit of allowing the US Attorney time to prosecute violent criminals.

New York City has 8.337 million people and 51 members of the city council.
At the same proportion, Chicago should have 17 members of the city council.
17 alderman. New York squeaks by with 1 alderman per 163,470 people
In Chicago the ratio is 1 alderman per 56,000 people.
We have approx. 3 times the alderman as New York. Not enough fat assed jagoff alderman to chest thump their police commanders in New York,
All you guys do is complain. You guys need to look on the bright side. There is a class of Sergeants that is going to be announced this Friday. There is a Detective's test coming up. We just had a Sergeant's test. With all these opportunities, you guys need to lift yourselves up by your boot straps. Learn to do your job.
Promotions would be great if we had 1500-2000 additional patrolman. Between promotions and retirements, we continue to lose boots on the ground. With the merging of districts and the declining number of officers per district, backup could be a long way off and that should be a concern to everyone. We are being stretched dangerously thin but of course keep working VRI, keep playing right into their hand.

In regards to a few comments up about the FOP election, Any ONE of you on the board should have execised your DUTY to protect us little guys who work the streets and had the letter sent. You're all collectively responsible for the Shields F'up and should not have been retained, but hey everyone has alliances. Politics of the board is not all that different than that of Capitol Hill and down.

Well you're certainly out of touch.
I have decided to stay off the second city cop blog until after the run off election. Can't really decide who I should vote for because Bill & Dean both are shitty choices and I really wanted new blood leading the lodge. I find it so hard to wrap my head around the run off election will be between two assholes who only seem to have their own greedy agenda, Damn When it rains it pours. Fuck all u dumb ass officers for not voting but will be the same dick heads sitting around moaning and groaning talking about what FOP isn't doing... Frankly I don't want to hear it.. Just get off your asses fill out the ballot and vote. Thank god it's only two choices because had it been more people to choose from you cock suckers would not be able to figure it out. .....
