It's Official - We're Shorthanded

  • Far from the hustle and bustle of Chicago, the Illinois Supreme Court considers a constitutional challenge of the legality of red light cameras.

At Wednesday's hearing, plaintiffs say Chicago City Hall began using the cameras before the Illinois General Assembly gave it the legal authority to do so. At issue: red light cameras are only allowed in eight counties- not the entire state and plaintiffs wonder if a camera's still photo can replace a cop in issuing moving violations.
And the testimony by a City Attorney?
  • "The law enforcement resources for addressing those red lights is not up to par," Kerrie Maloney Laytin, Chicago Asst. Corporation, said.

"Did the attorney for the city really go on the record to say the City of Chicago doesn't have enough cops to enforce its traffic laws? Twice she said that," Don Brandsford, Citizens to Abolish Red Light Cameras, said.
Well....can we get down to hiring now?

We all know this agency is shorthanded. How does this affect our health? We have days off cancelled or time requests routinely denied. We are seeing an explosion of violence at a greater frequency which at some point has to screw up our psychological well being. We are being lured like lemmings into V.R.I. to work on days which we should be resting releasing the stress and re-charging our batteries. I know some have to do this to keep their family finances above water. Money isn’t everything. The true cost is unseen, which is our health. Spend time with loved ones and friends to get your mind off the madness. Listen to co-workers for signs that stress is taking over. Remember the Chaplains Unit is available if you need to unwind. Kerrie Maloney-Laytin, Asst. Corporation Counsel, should be in hiding for her unintended admission that CPD manpower is uhhhhhm, "diminished."

Rahm will personally slide a steak knife between her ribs on a crowded elevator for that...

All for his agenda... And HIS agenda don't love no-muthafuckin'-body unless they're talking about putting money in HIS pockets.

So... Which one is it?

"CPD is fully staffed."
Or...
CPD has a ROBUST and deep street presence like it did from circa 1985 to 2000?

"STFU about manpower!"
"CRYSTAL/CLEAR says..."
"X number of Duty Availability checks were cut last quarter..."

Heh... What makes you think those singing, dancing and wildly gyrating crime stats are the only numbers buffed to a spit-shine with fuckery and billshit then presented for public consumption?

Maybe we and the usual suspects on the blog ought to teach a course at the academy.

HUH? The City has money for a new tennis/sports complex (just announced yesterday) and a new Special Olympics campus and facility (also announced yesterday). The City has money, obviously. Rahm is just REFUSING to spend that money on the City's legal obligation to fund our pensions.
As for new hires being a pension obligation 'someday', they're going to be CONTRIBUTING NOW, to help bolster the fund and grow the investment returns.

Was in Ft. Lauderdale a few years back, and had an interesting conversation with a Ft. Lauderdale copper. He said that he had been there for 20 years and worked for the NYPD for 6 years before that. He told me that Ft. Lauderdale was cutting coppers due to financial constraints, and how the city had changed for the worse in the last 20 years. He also said that there was concern about the viability of their pension. We are ahead of the curve when it comes to money problems but other places are following in our footsteps.

I believe a large bouquet of roses would be a most appropriate birthday gift. Perhaps FOP could come up with an even more suitable gift for this lovely lady.

I also cant wait to leve this city, and state. I would like to know how much money is sent out of the state to be digested and processed in another states economy. If we didnt have to live i the city we may choose to retire in state. Think of all the tax dollars collected and fleeced to other state's economies. Even if a state doesnt take taxes out of the retirement check it makes up for it at the cash register, DMV, and property tax. Illinois is just to dumb to see this and thinks it can raise taxes on private buisness to pay for their bloated, mismanged beauracratic budgets and friends.

Any and all defendants should be allowed to question the accuser. How can we question the damn camera? And of course we are not up to par, we are to occupied and stressed about our pension. Take care of those who can take care of you shitcago! Let me have what I was promised and earned and I'll consider getting you a parking ticket or two.

The state police at one time, tried putting manikins in parked cars. Maybe McStreetlight could do that in his boxes and put the real police back on patrol.

This Saturday, May 24th, our only beloved mayor, celebrates her 80th birthday.

While FOP Pres. Dean Angelo was not available, I just told FOP's Doreen to pass this information on to him immediately. She has our former mayor's 18th District address.

I believe a large bouquet of roses would be a most appropriate birthday gift. Perhaps FOP could come up with an even more suitable gift for this lovely lady.

I think you are misinformed. Look into the cost of living and taxes for the state of Tennessee. It is higher then Illinois. And, crime is also higher.

Sorry, your misinformed, retirement income not taxed, cost of living much lower, and only place crime is high is in Memphis. Last year Tennessee was rated #1 for retirement and is often rated one of top ten cities to retire to, I bought home just outside of Nashville, 2 acres, 175,000 taxes are 1,850 per year

Rahm is terrible and Toni Prickwrinkles will be even worse. Time for a big change, a fiscally-conservative change, a Republican change.

While I agree prickwinkle sucks, no way she is worse then that little piece of shit... Has to be one of the most evil men on earth . And as much as I agree, a Republican can't win in Chicago

Yet another scam revealed of rahm. Does anyone know if I were to leave the police dept and I wanted to carry my pension over to my def. comp. if that would be permitted since it is another retirement? And would i get penalized for that? Thank you

5/22/2014 09:42:00 AM

No, you cannot. If you have less than 10 years on, you can get a refund of your contributions (plus a small simple interest amount) however. You'll pay taxes on that though.

The state-appointed emergency manager tasked with restructuring Detroit's $18 billion in debt has said crime needs to be reduced to make the city attractive to new residents and businesses.

That's going to take more and better resources, said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, who complains that she has only a few assistants to try carjackings.

"When nobody has any resources ... all we can be is reactive," she said.

There is a small smattering of ammunition independents out there who have worked good magicks, alchemy, spells and ju-ju on the now 103 year old .45 ACP.

Give the Remington Golden Saber 185 +p a try! ;^)
>Flashy KA-BLASTY!<

>Everybody on the range: "Dafuk wuz dat? O_o?"<

Range Master might come a-runnin' thinking somebody on his line had a K-B and a spontaneous self-disassembly...

These loads can be hard on your weapon so set up with the appropriate recoil spring weight/system.

How about some .357 Magnum loaded to the original 1935 F.B.I specs? Designed for the express purpose of punching through car bodies of the era and every living ass inside... 1500+ feet per second. Modern propellants are now yielding over 1600 fps.

If not for the yellow pinky nanny statist gun grabbers, this would be the golden era of American citizen gun ownership.

Which is an entirely different issue from the armed wing of "The Caterered To Constituency" unceasingly shooting the shit out of each other.

"Himself" is going to be in town... The famous $25K+ plate is going to be slid across some fine linens, "for the children."

XD XD XD... Some m/fers are just too funny.

Rahm "Death Destruction and Financial Ruin To Every Livin' Ass But MINE" Emanuel will be there too...

Red light ticket cameras at U.S. 14 Northwest Highway and IL route 22, fucking scam city, Fox River Grove, Illinois. Also known as "Little Moscow, USA", these assholes are sending out red light tickets for people "not stopping long enough", whatever that means, before they make a right turn on red. If it is such a problem, as they claim it is, wouldn't it just make more sense to erect "NO TURN ON RED" signs instead? You know, safety for the children, and all of that BS, just like in Chicago. IT'S ALL ABOUT REVENUE, just like the big city. Avoid Fox River Grove, and Chicago. They don't want our business or our shopping, they just want our money.
