Feels Great!

Home from the hospital (pic courtesy of an old friend of ours):
  • Chicago police Supt. Garry McCarthy went home from Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Saturday, two days after being hospitalized and undergoing an angioplasty.

McCarthy, who exited via a back door, told Chicago Sun-Times columnist Michael Sneed later Saturday: “I feel great and hope to be back to work within a week.”

McCarthy woke at 5 a.m. Thursday to pain and nausea. Worried about his heart, he took an aspirin and got a cab to Northwestern, where tests showed an irregularity and he underwent the procedure to remove severe blockages in his arteries.

A City Hall source said the superintendent suffered a heart attack.
Get out while there's still time.

Off topic, kinda.

In another post on this site I recently wrote about the poor health benefits we retiree's receive for BCBS as secondary insurance.

In a nutshell, two new drugs came onto the market that work MUCH better than the ones I have been taking for years. Caremark/CVS denies me mail order service because they are non-formulary, however, they will let me but them at insane prices over the CVS pharmacy counter.

I just received two form letters from them trying to explain why my doctors orders/wishes are being denied.

This is the letter I just sent them, along with their form letters.

"Why beat around the bush? Just say 'FUCK YOU', we don't care about your health! Talk about irony;CAREmark!

Be honest, all you CARE about is making money and all Rahm cares about is saving money. Screw the years I spent, to the best of my ability, trying to keep the citizens of Chicago safe".

And for you citizens on here, I PAY for that insurance to the City of Chicago. No free ride.

So, to tie this in more on this McDoofus post and his health, you can bet that he is not being denied ANY health benefits.

Fuck you Rahm and CAREmark/CVS!

Sometimes best too keep your powder dry till you know all the facts sparky.

A minor heart attack due to artery blockage is commonly treated with an angioplasty operation.

That's essentially where they roto-rooter you heart artery by entering an artery in your leg or wrist.

It is a very common procedure now and you are out of the hospital, sometimes the same day or a few days later.

It's really not "surgery." The proper termia a "medical procedure." Angioplasty clears the problem and once all the drugs are worn off and the patient has had a few days rest theya re ready to go back to normal duties. Had he had a heart attack things would be different and recovery would be substantially longer.
