Rauner up 10 Points

The campaign isn't in full swing yet, but Quinn is starting from behind:
  • The election may be nearly five months away, but for now, Republican Bruce Rauner has a solid lead over Gov. Pat Quinn, a new poll shows.

Reboot Illinois, which was founded by hedge fund manager Anne Dias Griffin, commissioned the poll by We Ask America, an independent polling subsidiary of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association.

The poll, which was conducted June 10 and 11 among 1,075 registered voters asked a basic question heading into November: “If the election for Illinois governor were held today, for whom would you vote?”

Rauner received the vote from 47 percent of respondents, campared [sic] to 37 percent for Quinn, with 16 percent saying they're undecided.
16% undecided and a plus/minus of 3 points means Quinn is well within the margin for error and we haven't seen any dirty tricks yet.

It's time to send a message.

Maybe getting all you "die-hard" Democrats to vote everyone out is not feasible, but if you can vote 2 guys out this election, you would send a HUGE message.

Time to vote out Quinn and Durbin. You can still vote in all your "buddies", but being smart like people in Virginia and voting out the incumbent (Cantor) sends a HUGE message to everyone else.

That message? Do your job! Represent MY interest.

If the next guy doesn't perform, vote him out. That's a much better strategy than to re-elect someone who you think is going to work out for you - and never does.

I have talked to many that think Rauner is the death of our pension. Look at IN and WI. Have they even hinted at cutting First Responders?

What evidence is there that our livelihoods are on the chopping block? We actually pay a good portion of our paychecks into our own pension. Look at what has been done to the Unions so far. They have changed only the Unions that had a 'free lunch' deal.

I swear the "Chicken Little' postings are from those Unions and I don't like being manipulated. Relax or site examples. This corrupt State needs some change and Governor Potatohead is more of the same. Rauner may not be Ronald Reagan, he may end up being good, but at least he is some change.

If you think that electing Rauner means the death of police and fire pensions in Illinois you are drinking the democrat Kool-Aid. He has called for a 401 K type of retirement for government employees outside of police and fire and yes, that is the only way to save the retirement in the long run. States that have taken away the right to strike from government employees and have gone to right to work laws have actually seen many government employees leave the unions and they have not seen any reduction in pay or benefits. These states are growing much faster then Illinois and people are actually finding good jobs. Don't drink the union koolAid. Illinois is going broke and so is this town.

Since when would a working person like unions? Look at the bang up job they're doing with the teachers. Unions are at this point, anti-American, anti-capitalist, anti-anything you should believe in. They got us the 40 hour week, paid vacations and many things we all enjoy now, but at this point, they are the death knell for any economic progress. Look at your co-workers that don't do shit and have the balls to brag they won't do shit. They're protected by the union. I don't support socialist organizations.

The wealth you see around you was never produced by unions or leftists. It was produced by people looking out for their own self interest and making money in the process. The worst robber baron of old is better than the current democrats running our country now.

Union, pension board agreed to lower benefits for new hires and city agreed to pay a balloon payment by jan 2015 . Police officers never received 80% or a 3% compounded cola . Unless city agrees to 80% and 3% compounded cola for current retires pension to be readjusted , there is nothing to talk about . We were short changed from the beginning . Also no talk of eliminating gold braid pension right now , let current exempts receive pay on the last rank they earned without a merit promotion . Most will receive patrolman pensions . This statement is such utter crap. Rauner and the think tank do want 401 ks for most public employees but he made exceptions for police and fire. And, even if Rauner wanted a 401K for police it takes legislative action and a change in the Illinois constitution. That will not happen any time soon. Quinn and the democrats have ruined this state and the only way to save it and save the city is by electing people who are fiscal conservatives whether they be democrats, republicans or independents. Rauner does not need the job of governor he is doing it out of civic responsibility. If you don't see that then you have not been looking. The next step for the democrats will be to make the income tax hike permanent in the fall assembly and then plan on a progressive income tax that is scheduled to cap off at 11%.

Lets see where the hoopla goes, it doesn't appear Rahm is as giddy about Quinn as he is with Porterhouse Hillary.

Daley and the entire machine pushed George Ryan the RINO. I will take a CONSERVATIVE Democrat, Independent, whatever over a LIBERAL RINO Machine candidate anyday.

The problem that exists now is that we don't have any choice in the gubernatorial race. Quinn and Rauner are leftwing Democrats/Marxists.

Rauner is and has always been a Democrat Marxist. Rauner is ANTI-Gun, Anti-Life, Anti-Police/Fire, Anti-Family, Pro BIG $$$ and against the middle class.

Rauner made Rahmmie the COMMIE!

Rauner made Rahmmie the Commie 18 million dollars, they are connected at the hip.

Heres the highlights of the bill passed 3 1/2 years ago SB 3538. It retains benefit for current police and does not make officers contribute additional money to the pension. It also forces and mandates the city to pay their share starting with the payment of 600 million in 2015. That will make the pension at 90% by 2040 Its a done deal, but the city doesnt want to abide by the law and pay their share(doesnt that sould like what thjey have been doing for the last 25 years that got us into this mess). No they would rather scare the police to have them be willing to pay 3% in additional contributions into the pension fund so they dont have to. If absolutely NOTHING is done because of SB3538 we will not lose benefits nor have to pay additional pensions contributions and the pension fund will be fine. Check the limk below.
