11-Year-Old Killed
- Shamiya Adams and a group of her friends were getting ready to make s’mores during a sleepover Friday night when a bullet crashed through the window and struck the little girl in the head.
“It was going to be a little sleepover,” a tearful Rosemarie Jones said hours after the 11-year-old girl died from her injuries.
This was one of seven people shot in 011 yesterday, twenty-plus citywide, easily surpassing the standard "20-per-weekend" in just under a day. We're going to go out on a limb here and say that once again, strategies aren't working and we're going to see another weekend of 40 or more shot. Anyone care to bet against it?

Being a police officer I have to tell you that I'm very disturbed that something like this happens to a child. Chicagoans you need to wake up and start holding the States Attorneys office, the mayor and our Superintendent accountable. Stop buying into the whole gun issue they keep pushing. If you want a real eye opener look at the sentencing gun offenders get it's most often the minimum and for repeat offenders at that. The law allows tough sentencing the judges and Attorneys office refuse to give it. We have a minimum 3 year sentence on the books for gun offenders and first time offenders at that... it's called the Alex Valedez Law which carries a minimum 3 year sentence. As a police officer who sits in court during gun cases I can personally tell you we have the strictest laws and punishment they just don't hand it out. Their are many cities and states that have more guns than we do however they don't have the problem we do, especially L.A and N.Y which have 2 and 3 times our population. Retiring early and moving family out of the city. Look at who your voting for and their true interest.

She's wasn't my kid. I had no vested interest in her. And fuck that whole "it takes a village" mantra. My tax dollars along with every other taxpayers' have been thrown into failure after failure of programs designed to save these people from themselves. And guess what? NOTHING has worked. The only things accomplished are a more engrained sense of entitlement and greater disdain for those that enable their very existence.
You see, this now frees-up "Mom" even more than with the kid to carry on with her taxpayer-supported hedonistic lifestyle. That anchor to living life at her discretion is no longer around and it'll be full party mode before that kid is cold in the ground.

Far from it. Get some time on the job, spending a lot of that time policing a demographic that is a majority "lost cause" and you'll see that I Fart is on the money. If these people don't care enough to limit their kids' exposure to shit like that and they wind up getting killed because of it, why should I (or you, or anyone) care? I've got enough to worry about trying to raise my own kids. Other peoples kids, especially those that are being raised by "the village" of assholes that hate the police, are not my concern. I don't care if they're not fed, properly clothed, if the house has roaches and mice, if the uncles been touching them, haven't made it to school in weeks or catch a bullet. Far from it. Get some time on the job, spending a lot of that time policing a demographic that is a majority "lost cause" and you'll see that I Fart is on the money. If these people don't care enough to limit their kids' exposure to shit like that and they wind up getting killed because of it, why should I (or you, or anyone) care? I've got enough to worry about trying to raise my own kids. Other peoples kids, especially those that are being raised by "the village" of assholes that hate the police, are not my concern. I don't care if they're not fed, properly clothed, if the house has roaches and mice, if the uncles been touching them, haven't made it to school in weeks or catch a bullet. Actually... It is you who should resign and be a social worker or a community organizer. Go walk with a revrun or something. I say that because you are good at changing and twisting other people's statements. The other guy or gal did not fault the kid, not even close. He faulted the baby mama. Go hug the dead girl's mom and give her comfort if you care. Even though she wasn't home with her own kid at the time of her death. But we have teachers and the politicians to blame for that. Not mama. We can never blame mama. Section 8, link cards, HUD, obummer phone, etc... Why am I paying for them? Because we have sick and twisted blind people such as you. I for one an not surprised this girl was killed. Officers who live in that area are not surprised either. Don't make an arrest you'll obviously end up impeaching yourself. When's the last time you went into an apartment with dozen kids inside, no furniture, no power, no milk, roaches? Take them home and feed them! Give them clothes and site them love. Sorry but i can't! I already gave them too much from my taxes that my own family is forced to make ends meat. So, I Fart in your general direction, what you are saying is a bullet flying through a window and killing a little girl because her mother supposedly left her at someone's house to go clubbing, once again, supposedly went to go clubbing, is the parents fault? I understand that everyone, not just cops, are desensitized to violence at one point or another. But your ASSUMPTIONS were about as disturbing to read as it was to hear people out right claim Sandy Hook was a hoax.
Do 11 year old girls not have sleep overs anymore unless their mother wants to go party? That's a rhetorical question. But I'm not buying your claims based simply off the fact that you've worked in our neighborhoods. I don't think you're racist for what you pointed out and assume is true. It's more like stereotyping. That racist word gets thrown around to much when it actually doesn't describe what the person being called racist was even trying to say. Like the reporter in NJ who "told the truth" and was shoo'd off as being racist. He actually didn't tell the truth because facts to counter his claims state other wise, but he also wasn't being racist. What he did was stereotype all black men.

I think your response is way off. I think the prior poster was implying that as a society we don't hold the parents responsible as much as we should. I don't believe it meant this baby mama in this situation. Unfortunately this will not be the last time a tragedy like this takes place in this city.
Lastly, why do you continuously demand posters to resign? They are entitled to their opinion as much as you are entitled to yours.
