Beavers Appeal Fails
Former Aldercreature Beavers had his conviction upheld even though he's already out:
- A federal appeals court today upheld the conviction of former Cook County Commissioner William Beavers a month after he was released from prison after serving a six-month sentence on tax fraud charges.
Beavers, 79, was convicted by a federal jury last year of failing to pay taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars he took out of his campaign fund and used for gambling and other personal expenses. Prosecutors alleged at trial that Beavers used his campaign funds from 2006 through 2008, blowing much of the money on slots at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond.
In addition to the prison time, Beavers was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and almost $39,000 in back taxes. The former commissioner was also ordered to perform 400 hours of community service and refrain from gambling for one year after his release from prison.
We suppose he'll run again seeing as how a conviction doesn't preclude him holding a County position.

Didn't this asshole lose his pension
Always the little guy, the small time pol. Very seldom do they ever put a high level pol behind bars. Well at least the federal kind of high level pol.
So when's his next election to office?
400 hours of community service? Have him clean up the downed trees from this recent storm.
I would vote for him as mayor please run
beavers for mayor !
Shitcago and Crook county loves their convicted felon politicians.
Seventy nine years old. Give it a rest Beave!
does he still get his police ,alderman, county pension?
During his incarceration he was required to perform all the same activities as were the other inmates in prison which prompted this response by the rev-runs before his release in 'June' "You know Ward-en you were a little rough on the Beaver-s"
Rim-shot... "Hit it!"
Hmmm do they like Beaver in a mens prison?
Deathly afraid of being a nobody.
Drunk on the make believe power the dem machine
let his old ignorant ass have.
Beavers is one of the dem machine's traitorous plantation overseers who lined their own stinking pockets keeping their people suppressed and happily ignorant for Daley Inc. and Rahm & Co. for the few crumbs brushed off the table to them...
to 12.22am,,,,,Big Hog Nuts was far from a small time politician,,,at one time he was the most powerful black politician in Chicago and Cook County
The feds were awfully rough on the Beaver.
Please run for Mayor Big nuts show them who is the Boss Hog from a true 19 th Ward retired police officer !
This guy has nothing on Dorothy Brown.

"jeans day",
90,000.00 paid to her future husband for doing who knows what if anything,
State Grants to husbands phony baloney anti violence group from which he was paid well,

You mean that ain't my money?!
JJ Jr thought it was his money
(He getsn9,000 a month supposedly for disability payments) while in jail.
I thought in beavers case its a felony you can work for the county with felonies?
Depending on the felony some places will hire you but highly doubtful
Poor old Hawg Ballz.
Beavers is 79 and goes to jail for $39,000 in back taxes. Geithner was 42 (with an advanced degree in economics from Johns Hopkins) had $40,000 in back taxes, got to be the 75th Secretary of Treasury. Because he was a deserving successor to Alexander Hamilton.
Say what you want, but this guy is a man. He stood up to the G, didn't whine, didn't rat. My kind of guy.
