Karen in the Lead
- For the past couple of weeks, Karen Lewis has been saying she is “seriously” considering running for mayor.
It turns out voters are taking the fiery Chicago Teachers Union president’s potential candidacy seriously as well.
And Mayor Rahm Emanuel probably should, too.
At least that’s what a surprising new Early and Often Poll suggests.
If the mayoral election were held today, the lightning rod union leader who was the architect behind a 2012 teachers’ strike would beat Emanuel by 9 percentage points in a head-to-head contest, the survey found.
And Prickwrinkle stomps Rahm by a 24-point margin according to the same pollsters. Rahm is going to have to do some major league pandering to regain lost ground...and what better way to pander than throw some New York carpetbagger under the bus?

Told you last week, or was it the week before, McCloggedArteries is gone no later than pre-primary. Leading candidates are Eddie Johnson or Escalante. They have the right pigmentation to pander to one of two key groups for Tiny Dancer. I could care less about their color, but want to know they're competent. Johnson I've only heard good things about. Escalante, not so much.
Trading one socialist for another. I.e. the Chicago way since 1800. Doomed...I just wish I lived closer to Indiana.
I will enjoy the poll as an indication of how much Chicagoans despise the nine digit midget. The thought of either Lewis or Preckwinkle serving as Mayor fills me with dread. As much as I dislike Rahm and hate his policies, either of these two could be worse.

Wait a second here....running for mayor of Chicago???....What kind of leadership has Karen Lewis provided for her CTU members? 7500 people have lost their jobs under her leadership and 50+ schools have been closed with some of them turning into charter schools. Lewis and the CTU have said it's all Rahm's fault. But, wasn't Lewis and her leadership there for all of this too?
And, what did Lewis' CTU membership gain for the strike? One thing, Long and short term leave of absences for men and women. That's it!!!
Some of the brainwashed CTU members will tell you that got a raise for three separate years. Well, how is that a raise when the school day and year were both lengthened? It seems a lot of teachers aren't good at math.
I know CTU members read this blog and I suggest they ask themselves what has Lewis and her leadership done for them?
Though, Lewis probably couldn't do less for the average Chicagoan than Rahm.
I will vote for anyone that runs against Rahm. I am sure I have a lot of company. Rahm is an entrenched megalomaniac. A new Mayor would only have 4 years to ruin things before the voters replaced them. This Machine has been in place for decades. Time to get them out.

That poll is so flawed it is not even funny. Check out the voting by race. Plus most people don't even know who Prickwrinkle or Big Mama K are. A few million spent on negative ads will fix that in a hurry. There are plenty of video clips for hundreds of ads. Ranting against certain races, shady relatives and questionable deals. The best thing for Rahm is if they both ran.
The mayoral choices are so bad that I am thinking about donating to Rahm.

It would take some careful analysis to determine which one is actually the worst candidate, and I think the results would be pretty close.

Where was Axelrod when the survey was conducted? I smell a rat. Remember, Preckwinkle had 20 yrs. experience in the City Council so she is no stranger to Da Machine politics of Daley. Karen Lewis attends Marxist conferences and would be a nail in the economy's coffin. Her idea for closing the pension gap was to tax stock transactions. I don't trust anyone whose first instinct is to tax and not cut back. Surely in the land of patronage, there is ample savings to be had there, it's just a hopeless cesspool.

It is very common for incumbents to have operatives run against them in order to dilute their opponents votes. You can call Rahm and Axelrod a lot of things, but dumb isn't one of them. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Rahm will be Mayor as long as he wants to be.

First, you need to know the devil. Lewis is president of their union. She's not superintendent of CPS. No one knows if she'll be a good mayor or not.

Rahm became the mayor 3 years ago and you blame him for the failure of the CPS. I hope you are kidding. This wonderful school system was crumbling long before him. Next you will be blaming him for our pension problems.

Take a guess where Klonsky had been held up, plotting, and spewing crap on his blog from until January of 2014....why, at Prosser Career Academy High School, a CPS school, of course.
Klonsky had been working behind the scenes with Prosser's principal Kenneth Hunter to try and circumvent CPS Policies. That was until CPS caught Hunter cooking the books on a school survey and Hunter was removed as principal from Prosser. Plus, it didn't hurt that an old timer recognized Klonsky and reported him being at Prosser all the time to Chicago Board of Education President David Vitale and Rahm's people.
Klonsky was hired a freshman boys basketball coach. Though, he rarely attended practices and spent most of his time planning strategy in Hunter's office. Hunter named him a basketball coach to throw off suspicion of why he at Prosser all the time.
Be careful if/when you go in or around Prosser boys and girls as there's always something shady going on there.

True she did stand up to Rham. But at the end of the day she got a terrible deal for teachers. Work a longer day for no pay and seniority means nothing anymore and schools closing all over the city - thousands of teachers let go. -
Lewis has been an agitator all her life. She runs a union for government employees. Not a union for a private sector business. Schwinn Bicycle was a Chicago firm, the family mismanaged the business and the union kept doing what they're supposed to do, get better conditions and raises for the workers and Schwinn did what they're supposed to, moved to a more business friendly state and all those salt of the earth, greedy fucks lost their jobs.
A government union can't force the government to move to a new location, too bad, I wish we could move our politicians to Tehran but, based on what I see written here, I don't think even we have enough sense to vote for sanity. Now, since the union can get concessions from these temporary elected politicians and the business won't go broke and they depend on votes, they cave and we get ever more vacations, better wages, holidays coming out our ears, ever increasing uniform allowances (dude, buy a new shirt, they give you money for it) and ever increasing duty availability checks. We're paid like management on a 40 hour week! I love it, but it's expensive and if you want to keep it, you'd better vote for someone who has a clue on how to run something. If the city keeps getting run into the ground, our great benefits and paychecks will be at risk. This mean little prick is unfortunately the best choice of the 3, now 2 because the other racist pig has ruled out a run for mayor. At least this little jerk might have a vision for the city and has been unable to wring too many concessions from the socialist unions.
I believe Lewis would go off on some agitator bent that would be disastrous (yes, even worse then the missing digit midget)and would be reelected forever. She has the same type of voting base that Mayor Berry had in DC. You have common sense, vote like it.
ssc here is what i predict , hillary is president, rahm a us senator, and nora conroy daley as our next mayor, if you are the police or fire forget about promotions unless you live in the 11th or 19th wards, shortcakes has already cut the deal with the clintons, dick daley is about three things money , poltical power and jobs. also watch bill daley as transportation sec, more money more contracts, and tom dart as supt or corporation counsel, if you live in bridgeport, everyday will christmas day
