Let's Have a Meeting!

  • After yet another bloody summer weekend in which four people were killed and 39 people were wounded, Mayor Rahm Emanuel held a closed-door summit Monday with community leaders and law enforcement officials to discuss violence that continues to grip Chicago.

“I think everybody here knows this is a deeper conversation. It’s more complex than how many ATF agents we have and how many kids we have enrolled in our mentoring program,” said Emanuel, before reporters were escorted out of the conference room at Chicago Police Department’s South Side headquarters.
No need to let reporters see what's going on. Rahm will treat them like mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed bull shit) and they'll run and print what he says to print, especially during an election year. Don't want ot lose that all important "access" you know.
  • The summit was held just hours after a crowd of mourners poured out into a West Side street Sunday to hold vigil for Shamiya Adams, an 11 year-old girl who was killed Friday night when a stray bullet that flew into an apartment during a slumber party. So far, no arrests have been made, but police Supt. Garry McCarthy said detectives have some “good leads.”

“The case is progressing nicely,” said McCarthy, who added that he couldn’t discuss specifics. “We have a lot of information and the case is developing quickly.”
"nicely" if you don't count that fact that an 11-year-old caught a bullet in the head in the middle of the "lowest crime stats in decades."
  • “Often times you feel like you’re being talked at, or being told all the great things that are being done,” said the Rev. Michael Pfleger, the outspoken South Side pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church, on his way out of the conference room.

But this time Emanuel opened the floor for community groups, allowing them to air their concerns and grievances — a move Pfleger called “refreshing.”

“I don’t usually leave meetings feeling this good and I felt good today. Obviously ... action has to take place now, but to be able to lay it out on the table, I thought was very good,” he said.
Well, you know if Pfather Pfleger left the meeting "refreshed," then there must be hope for the whole situation. After all, look at what great strides St. Sabina's has made in turning around that neighborhood - hardly a murder to be seen.

Anyone else get the feeling that their pockets just got picked, their Rights just got trampled and we're going to be told to smile-and-eat-shit in short order?

Dont worry father faker will receive a grant to help the community!

No receipts will be obtained and no employee records.

the money will not come from Rahm it will come from a hidden donator who nobody will research.

May be i should become a REV-run and make a cash grab.

Was the summit at the same round table that Holder was at when he came away boasting about how safe things are in Chicago?

What is important is that the optics are well managed, and Rahm appears to be doing just that. It is all a fantasy world anyway.

Time for some church bbq's where the politburo can throw a little money around and eat some soul food -- then ask for just a lil' more time because..because..wait for it..

"we have much more to do..."

We are this >< close to solving EVERYTHING, if we only had more time. Don't you see it's working. Look at these crime stats.

(puts arm around your shoulder. come on man..remember the good times..we've been thru a lot and...) Stroke those emotions to win the hearts and minds while you pick their pockets.

Cutting welfare benefits for family members of gang bangers who commit violent crimes would change bad behavior.

Why is this not talked about in the media ??

Everyone has an agenda. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. In this day and age it is apparent that you can fool all of the people all of the time.
The mayor knows that the citizens on the south and west side did not vote for him and will not vote for him.
So he gives them little city services. Just a show of force that is inaffective.
Macnumbnuts makes his own crime numbers to show crime is down and gives the mayor, news media and citiziens a totally different set of numbers then he gives the feds.
Numbers don't lie has a new meaning. Keep a second set of books like any tax evasion scheme is the police superintendent's solution to fighting crime.
Arrest bad guys only when absolutely necessary.
This super wouldn't even make a good patrol officer. All bluster bull shit and no teeth.
This mayor loses sleep every night trying to keep alive his aspirations of a higher office alive. He does not have the compassion to run this city. This Napoleon complex mayor is the new breed of politician that caters to the super pac money and its hidden agenda.
Abe you can fool all of the people all of the time. RIP

Just an aside:

The Haymarket Riots is Chicago, where the German anarchists set off bombs that killed some Chicago Policeman - is the first time the sociologists blamed something other than bad character for the behavior. They blamed poverty.

That's where it all started. Now the liberals continue the pattern, never questioning the logic. Conservatives have questioned the logic ever since.
How many times has the media excused such behavior due to 'poverty?' Chicago Magazine did a huge article about Chicago crime - not once did they mention the illegitimacy rate.

Sad.

The Vatican squats on at least a trillion in wealth accumulated over centuries. The Jesus I was taught about would sell off most assets and deploy the money to alleviate the burdens of the poor. Religious service can be held in the open spaces and not in guilded halls with bejeweled chalices. So unless and until the church liberates its vast holdings, I perceive zero requirement, religious or otherwise, to donate more from the sweat of my brow to Phleger and his causes.

TRANSLATION: the mayor knows he's in trouble with these horrible numbers, one way to ease the pain a little is a good old fashion meeting slash lunch get together, invite all the "important" folks from behind the lines, make them feel important, cause really that's all they are really concerned about, just feeling a little important, and all those shootings and nonsense goes down a little better....

Look for what Mike Huckabee said about the roles of the church and state. Everyone screams for separation of church and state EXCEPT for where it needs to be. The state/government is supposed to be providing for the management and defense of our country. The church is supposed to provide assistance for the poor. Like Jesus did.

According to the IRS website, “Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. The prohibition applies to all campaigns including campaigns at the federal, state and local level. Prosecutions For Gun Crime Way Down Under Obama Administration
July 24 2014

obama

Anti-gun politicians and advocates keep on pushing and pushing for new laws to limit gun ownership among law abiding Americans. However, it looks like the current administration isn’t actually interested in reducing violence or keeping guns out of the hands of criminals at all.

According to the Washington Times,

Federal prosecutors brought a total of 5,082 gun violation cases in 2013 recommended by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, compared with 6,791 during the last year of George W. Bush’s presidency in 2008, according to data obtained from the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys.

The 2013 totals represent a 42 percent decline from the record number of 8,752 prosecutions of ATF cases brought by the Justice Department in 2004 under Mr. Bush, according to the data.

Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, regarded as one of the premier researchers on federal prosecution performances and trends, analyzed the data at the request of The Washington Times.

U.S. attorneys have been slowing gun prosecutions even further, with 2,598 brought in the first seven months of this fiscal year. The pace of activity puts the Justice Department on track to prosecute the fewest ATF cases since 2000, well before the drug gang wars in Mexico sharply increased violence on both sides of the border.

If this isn’t proof that this administration is only interested in disarming law abiding Americans and NOT criminals, I don’t know what is.

Just pass some more laws that you won’t enforce. That will surely fix everything.
