Niles Gun Range Meeting
For you northsiders and suburban readers looking for a nearby practice range, time to support a Chicago neighbor:
Make some time to support a fully-legal, safety-oriented business that is supportive of numerous police departments, even in the face of the hysterics of the anti-gun crowd.

It's about time that a city or suburb had the backbone to shove it in the liberals face's. Niles is a nice suburb that is well run and will find it's decision to go ahead with this project is just good business sense I wish them all the best with this endeavor.Ret. CPD.
Not only is supporting the Second Amendment good practice, target shooting is relaxing and fun.
What gun range is this? Because most of the ones that I go to are definitely not supportive of police and act like they don't want your business.
Again, I thank the Niles City Government for making it possible for Chicago citizens, to practice their 2nd Amendment rights.
A note to Rahm and Aldercreature's;
Taking 2 fellow CPD, 1 active, 1 retired, along with our wives and children to Niles with us.
Wife's and kids shop, while guys shoot.
Afterwards, dinner. Never been to Niles before, but expect to see how much business I can give them.
I only do business in Chicago & Illinois when CRITICALLY important, otherwise, out of town & state. F' you Quinn & Rahm
I hope Niles gets this proposed range!
Not only do I hope Niles is successful in getting its gun range, I hope they likewise handle IROCC qualifications as well.
Good Luck Niles...Thanks for standing up to your Constitutional Rights.
There might be no backbone present.
The village board, led by the mayor, decided to through this back to the planning commission for the heretofore unnoticed "safety issue" of being located in the same county as some schools that are located near the industrial area.
Also, the village board just approved a ban on firearms sales and ranges in the commercial district. But Ezell v Chicago shows that you can't ban sales and ranges everywhere!
The opposition is led by a Skokie supporter of Mayor Bloomberg's Moms Demand Action.
Please show up on Monday!
niles great suburb n great police force
Slightly OT but what's the story with Shore Galleries, which is a shadow of its former self?
ISRA should send some citizens
Is Mr. SouthSide invited?
ssc off topic both Naperville n lisle have their 4th of july summer festivals this weekend,. in Naperville it is rib fest and the rock group foghat will perform and in lisle it is the festival of balloons, both nice times for your family.
Off Topic [sorry, please excuse :-)]
Tiny Dancer and McClueless aren't off the hook yet with their phony Murder-Crime Stats. Someone besides Chicago Magazine has picked it up and ran with it here: Chicago brought its murder rate down (by not counting murders). I never heard of this 'Vox' before, the link was in an email I now get from Chi Mag on hot topics; 'The 312 This Week's Must reads'.
The reporters for this Vox 'news' mentions how with a decline in a places Local News it's easier for the pols and 'powers that be' to get away with their fuckkery. Or as they put it in the article: 'As locally based journalism declines, local corruption is easier to get away with'.
And over the decades Chicago really has had a decline in news sources. I remember when we still had the 'Daily News' and 'Chicago American' newspapers, in addition to the Trib and Slum-Times. Plus those now gone papers had two editions per day, morning and evening. One of them did at least, I used to get the 'evening paper' on my way home from work in the late 1970's, can't recall which paper though.
Anywho... at least someone is still picking at the scab of McShitForBrains phony murder stats.

Loads of restaurants out that way, shopping center at Golf and Milwaukee, ABT further up onMilwaukee... make a day of it.
I can't wait to spend my money in Niles instead of Chicago!
GFY Chicago
Thank u Niles! From a little girl of 6 or 7, I can remember my father and uncles teaching me firearms safety, how to shoot and the importance of what happens when I pull the trigger. Maybe we need firearms safety in our schools and better parenting!
Where's Ray Ray Hamilton's Gun Range?

When you consistently treat people like shit, they stop coming back.
No surprise there.
If you really want to be treated like shit, I recommend you head out to ray o'herron. I hope that place loses all its customers sooner than later. Those pompous asses at the gun section need to be fired for acting like their shit don't stink and like they swear they are doing us a favor. I've taken my business elsewhere along time ago and will be happy when they go under.
Shore Galleries was denied on a proposal to open a range in a commercial area of Lincolnwood. Word from the staff is that they are still looking to relocate in nearby suburbs when they find a location that will allow them to open a range.
ISRA has sent out an alert to the membership to attend the Niles meeting on Monday, and IllinoisCarry.com has posted the notice as well. Expect to see lots of citizens with IGOLD and NRA wearables at the meeting.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with the same feelings-hear that Mitch-you arrogant little Jagoff!!
(Reminds me of tiny dancer)
One a kinder note-another employee-Harvey was a good guy and good to the Police. RIP Harvey...glad you're free from Mitch's rants!
Those pompous asses at the gun section...
O'Herron's certainly beats the snot out of Shore. Again-a big 'Fuck You' to Mitch!
Seems like almost all gun shops and workers have an attitude though...
Anyone remember the good days at Bell's on Mannheim?
Ruling postponed
Call the mayor and tell him you all support he gun range. The only people calling are those against it.
One a kinder note-another employee-Harvey was a good guy and good to the Police. RIP Harvey
Sad to hear of Harvey's passing.
From the first time I walked through Shore's doors, to get my academy gear, he treated me with dignity & respect. Never failed to take an opportunity to educate my green, know nothing ass. From that 1st day on, whenever I'd go to Shore, I'd make a beeline for the big man. He was always more than willing to take the time to explain shit to this firearms ignoramus. May he Rest In Peace.

I found one even better. Gatts Gun on Ill 25 in Dundee. Good to the Police and good staff at the gun counters. Worth the drive.
I used to go to Brite and Johnson on North Ave.
I remember buying my stuff there and shooting on their range 100 years ago.
Sid the owner was a great guy that knew his way around a pistol. I really miss that place.
That is what a gun store should be like.
Store regulars hanging around and new shooters feeling welcome.
SCC, FYI we passed it 5-2. We will soon have a huge increase in taxes coming into our village and will be glad to see CPD as well as any other LEO utilize what looks to be a great new facility once it opens
