Police Shooting - 025
- A person was shot by police in the Logan Square neighborhood this evening, authorities said.
The Independent Police Review Authority was notified of someone shot by police at 5:37 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Pulaski Road, said IPRA spokesman Larry Merritt.
A male who had been shot was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair-to-serious condition, according to a Fire Department spokesman.
A police union spokesman was headed to the scene, and had no details about the incident about 7:15 p.m.
No injuries listed to coppers so far, so that's good.

I work in 014 and between the yuppie know it all racist assholes and the few remaining shitheads that live there this was no surprise. Glad my 3rd watch brothers are ok. Hope the pos doesn't make it. When will they learn -- you drive toward the police in an attempt to run the officer over you will be shot and hopefully killed.

I don't know about scc, but I have a thought on the matter. I wasn't there, so I won't second-guess the actions of the victim.

Agreed. No one who lives here thinks it's Logan Square. Residents here call it Kelvyn Park or Koz Park.
So when did Logan square get an extension all the way to Pulaski ?

That is Logan Square its western boundry is the metra line to the west(just past pulaski), and its northern boundary is diversy. You yuppies probably don't consider that Logan Square because there are still "undesirable residents" getting in the way of your condo plans.

It is Logan Square look up the boundary lines. You should try leaving Mt. Greenwood every once in a while and explore the city every once in a while. The fresh air is good for your brain.

How about that Bud Billiken parade. I've never seen a Commander of police so out of control. Car 200 kept calling 10-1's from the safety of his chauffeur driven golf cart. Every time he saw 20 Savages fighting he would make it a 10-1. Unreal.
3 shot at the Bud parade and a 14 year old female busted with a fully loaded 9 in her purse. I've worked plenty of Bud parades and this was the worse one I've seen. Over 40 arrests and gang bangers running in packs of 100. Crazy.

There were shots fired at the parade!!! A female was seen with a gun and she was locked up. This side makes it appear that the police were ruining the parade when in fact, it was just the opposite. The parade is for the children NOT the low life gang bangers who TRIED to ruin the parade!!!! The parade needs to be cancelled for a couple years.

He was in a civilian short sleve shirt and from the angle of the photo there were no visible tattoos.

Just took a look at that map. It's entertaining. A lot of people would take issue with it in a lot of neighborhoods, not just Logan Square.
Which reminds me of one of my best laughs in recent memory. Looking through real estate listings, I found a description of a three-flat at Kedzie and Armitage described as WEST BUCKTOWN.

One of my friends owns the little bridge that used to be there and the red water pump. His yard is filled with flagstone and bushes pulled out of there on demolition day.
(But it still wasn't - and isn't - Logan Square.)
As a 3rd generation Chicagoan, I can tell you that neighborhood map is all kinds of wrong.
