- Two people were shot to death and at least 16 other people have been wounded in weekend shootings across the city, police said.
The most recent fatal shooting happened Saturday evening in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
And the Tribune seems behind the tallies - 1 dead and fourteen wounded. But scanning the Tribune, it looks like not a single person over the age of 37 managed to catch any lead. A 12-year-old, a couple 15-year-olds, your usual number of fools between 18 and 25 and a few outliers in their 30's.
The juveniles were out after curfew when they got shot and reports from 011 are that their fatal was Contact Carded at the scene of a previous shooting before becoming a statistic himself 4 hours later.

Today's slumtimes had an article saying that CFD paramedics will no longer carry air-masks and new medics will not be issued bunker gear.
With the threat of terrorist activity high, this city continues to show what kind of rubes we are.
It also stated that taking away this equipment bring CFD in line with other major departments. Why is it that if other major depatmrnts have a better contract than CFD, why isn't CFD or CPD brought in line in those situations!?
The article further states that the city is looking into shit ambulances around to better serve the city.
So now the ghetto is going to have ambulances up the ass while tax payers have to wait and wait for service.
Chicago is a hay-seed hick town.

.........or get job, or dress appropriately, or not get multiple tattoos, or get to bed at an appropriate time, or go to school, or stay away from the alcohol and drugs and on and on!!
Let's face it, the parents do it so they teach there kids to do it. Until we stop providing the funds for them to waste their lives and punish them when they step outside the lines, it will continue. Stop enabling an entire segment of society. Cut the umbilical cord. Punish when necessary. It is that simple.

The 12 year old victim WAS written a curfew.
The homicide victim was with his 21 year old brother at the time of the first shooting, when a contact card was written. His own father, when he learned that his son was at the scene of a shooting, warned him to stay inside and away from the area of the earlier shooting. However, thinking he was invinsible, he snuck out of the house around 3. Dad came looking for him a few hours later. Tragic, yet ironic. There's no dealing with stuborn kids like this!
New plan... Operation subzero. Goes into effect 01 JAN. Gary promises that crime will decline once plan is in place.
