Still Short

"short" meaning "shorthanded," but also "too damn many people hidden away in do-nothing spots."

We are so short in 002 on 2nd watch that it has become dangerous. Most weekends we only have 8 or 9 cars and 1 Sgt working the entire district.
With several gang wars, shootings, and a boat load of mentals creeping around, 002 is a ticking time bomb!!!

Relax chicken little the arbitrator is going to take the non contract related items out of the contract or at least one would hope they would be up for discussion. Vehicles - for example, come on --

BS , FOP has done well with an arbitrator in other contracts .
Got screwed last time because flop turned down a 16% pay raise , greedy ba-----, never put that offer out for a vote , never put wiping a $23,000,000 debt the city owed to pension fund out for a vote .
vote NO

Are these comic strips supposed to be funny? Don't get me wrong, I like to support fellow police officers but these aren't funny or clever.."where is everyone?" That's the punchline? Come on. As a matter of fact none of the strips you have posted have been very good. No offense but tell the hack who's writing these to keep his day job.

Morgan Park, Beverly and Mount Greenwood hasd a couple attempt child abductions last week .
Where are the Funds for safe passage routes , extra police officers assigned . A District the size of 22 should have Five Beat Cars per Sector , Not Three.
Who represents us in 22 , we need police protection to protect the Children .

Off Topic...... I called FOP inquiring about my voting ballot which I never received in the mail, FOP's response " it probably got lost in the mail, it's to late to mail them out, so you have to show up on the 17th before noon to vote in person" are you freaking kidding me??? You still have 10 days, where to the fuck are you mailing it from? Alaska? I got my FOP news letter delivered and it was never lost in the mail. Is the FOP not mailing ballots purposely to minimize the NO vote? And hoping the ones didn't get it in the mail, chances are they will not show up to vote NO?
I will be there to give my big "FUCK NO" to this contract.

Still thirsty? Maybe call Dean or one of the other FLOP clowns directly and ask them to bring you more Koolaid - it's a delicious blend of FLOP pressuring impressionable idiots (like yourself) mixed with City Hall strong armed scare tactics.

Mmmmm!!!! Yummy and delicious, isn't it, you little lemming? That Koolaid mustache will get harder and harder to wash off with every subsequent serving, jackass.

Time to grow up, find your balls, use your brain and look past the immediate bone they're trying to throw you stupid dogs. Try living and thinking past your immediate moment and see just how this contract will screw you and your brothers and sisters long term.

One of the problems is way too many bosses for too few officers.
Years ago, so jobs that were run by a sergeant now have a director and a dozen halpers, add the cost of take home cars and everything else, it adds up to lots of cash.
But CPD is not the only agency with bloated management rolls, most city agencies are like that.

The 19TH district has 56 officers detailed out. That is a shame in a district that is so short handed and crime through the roof . If you want to see the 56 officers detailed out in there clouted hidden spots it is posted by the radio room.

How many police officers are there on the street at any one time citywide. Let's say midnights to be on the high side, since most beats are 10-4 instead of 99 like days. Anyone do the math on how many beat cops that respond to jobs are actually out there? Can't be that many. The people are fooled when the media says 12,000 cops, as if to think they are all working at the same time. People are dumb. IOD, medical, callback, desk duty, erps, etc. takes a huge chunk. If you add the beat cops from 23 districts, plus VRI, tac, gang, bosses, ET's, canine, etc. Total number on the street at any one time? Maybe oemc knows, who knows, but it ain't enough some nights, every weekend in a rap with more shitty pdt'less Christmas tree dash flat tire turn left to go straight 150k mile pool cars than regular squads, which are basically the same thing. 19p do the best with what u got. Stay safe. Go home.

Need to clean house on some of these so called saturation teams. A bunch of inexperienced hair gels who go out and get a pisser, drinker or a tvb and a few contact cards and there done after 5 or 6 hours of work. Running around the south and west sides and this is the type of policing that is taking place. I don't know, I would feel like a bitch if that was the kind of work I was doing. I work in a busy district, call me old fashion but I need to feel like I'm being the Police in order to have a sense of self worth. I don't know how someone could be a house mouse or a dog hiding on some "team" their whole career and call themselves the Police, get some balls.

My gripe is that most of the officer that are on the street do virtually nothing. They stay down on jobs for hours, rarely arrest anyone and getting them to even write a ticket is like pulling teeth. Totally worthless. Ever hear the saying that 20% of the people do 80% of the work? It's the 80% of the DO NOTHINGS that bother me when they bitch about wanting a raise.

HouseMice do what most of us wouldn't want to do.
A good HouseMouse doesn't sneak out without putting in a good 6 hrs.
A good HouseMouse always makes 10 copies of the RedEye-SunTimes crossword.
A good HouseMouse never reminds you how important their inside spot is and how stressful their day becomes.
A good HouseMouse never flaunts their longevity being inside or absolute minimum of street duty.
Hug a HouseMouse today and thank them for their service to The Department.
But never ask a HouseMouse if they're Available for Duty.

Nothing wrong with someone who takes pride in what they do. I'm glad that there are some dedicated people who take their job seriously. Careers in many cases are a calling, not just a "paycheck" to cover expenses.

I hope that the officer from the original posting lives on the NW side.

The second district desk personnel are a freaking joke. They spend way too much time trying to talk themselves out of writing a report that would be completed in a few minutes. Just the other day a PO on the desk was telling a citizen "nah, nah, girl we have no jurisdiction in the 3rd district. You gots to go over there and file your report". And this was for a domestic......wow! And this was from one black girls to another. Now white people that want service at the second district desk, it is comical nevertheless to see how you get treated. Your I voted for Obama demeanor gets you no service at all. Hey you white yuppies, here is your mess, this is what you created.
And yes, this occurs on all three watches. And I think it is soo racist that only black peoples work the desk in the deuce.

Your also the kinda guy who wears his gun belt naked in front of the mirror and draws down to see how cool you look. If you see a problem with the " hair gels" why don't you square them away? Why don't you share your wisdom ? A lot of you old fuks are all the same, all talk no walk, and never did the walk. I have called out people like you out many times, and even asked for guidance. The result has always been the same. Just because you accumulate years of service, it does not make you a hero or a role model amongst police. Grow a brain.

The problem with 19th District and why they may be short handed is because they have to have people fill both the desk spots at 19 West and East. Why the fuck are there officers manning both desks? Not only that, on midnights there are two cars assigned to do DUI's only. They wouldn't know how to make a real arrest if somebody jumped into the rear of their squad car and admitted to something. They don't handle accidents or any calls, they do whatever they want as long as its a DUI. Really?

Everyone knows I'm an asshole, that's my thing. 011 is a dump, there is no mistaking but when I leave it's on my terms, no ball less Sgt or Lt is ever going to get rid of me.
