I have been noticing a sharper, and stiffer resistance to the most simple tasks, requests, or basic questions on stops of any kind.
In over 15 years, I expect it from scumbag lifelong losers with criminal records, I expect it from people having a bad day, or from people in the wrong place who turn up negative and resent the temporary stop.
But lately, it seems to be every pissed off, disappointed liberal who wants to test what they read on some anti-police site, or maybe the Ferguson nonsense, or all the anti-American brainwashing the militant wannabes have bestowed on the next generation of followers...
Everybody wants to test you, taunt you, mother*uck you, pull out the phone, point it in your face, refuse to give up their I.D, and so on.
We're low on manpower, we're low on willingness to pursue "bullshit," we're low on bosses willing to back you, low on public support, low on any fairness in media reporting.
Good thing we're so low on crime or this would point to bad things ahead for this country.

All this started a few years ago with CAPS crap. The police officer is not supposed to be your friend. A little mystery is what it should be about. Familiarity breeds contempt.

I'm not a copper but I and the public I know (the law abiding, non-dirt bag variety) support the police and wish there were more around.
When I've called about shit going on you come out and everyone I have talked to has been great and very professional.
I know you guys and gals are getting screwed from both ends by the politicos but most of us do support you. And those of us with more than a few brain cells know the media is full of shit.
