Did You Fall Back?

If you're reading this at your normal hour, and you didn't set the clocks, don't worry - you're an hour early! You could have been sleeping, but you listened to your biological clock. Relax, take your time, stop for coffee on the way.

Shhhh! This is - historically - the ONLY day two of my detectives have ever made it to work on time. Don't rock the boat.

Daylight savings time is a horrible idea. All is does is confuse our biological clock and give the whole nation jet lag twice a year.

Off topic, but just left work and got on lsd to go home. Yes I was speeding, but was trying to get home from working 9hrs in a shit district when I'm pulled over by 3200 unit. After showing this fine piece of work my badge and id he gave me a fucking lecture on how he could give me a ticket and then takes my license. I hope I don't run into your family you short shit fuck. We are our own worst enemy!

And like every year, self-adjusting [alarm]clocks on their smart phones be damned, we'll see the usual handful of befuddled Gen-Yers arriving late for work anyway, not quite sure how this "extra hour thing" works.

Seems "Fall Back" is as equally perplexing as "Spring Ahead" to some of the mental midgets I work with.

Is former NYPD Chief of Department Phillip Banks III, available to come to Chicago and take over the top position in the CPD? He is just what the CPD and City need as a top cop.

I hear that in order to get into the 3200 unit, you have to have a small unit.

Yeah, and I am sure you didn't give him any attitude while you were talking to him. He is on the clock and in uniform, probably late at night, and he deserves the respect of being out there and you WASTED his time because he has to write movers in order to keep his spot. But he let you go with nothing but a lecture. Then he had to go back and find someone else to write. YOU, on the other hand, come home and threaten HIS FAMILY on the blog for what he did to YOU. He did nothing to your family. You should leave his family out of it. You should just go to bed and be thankful that because of your badge you got out of a ticket that the ordinary citizen would have received. I suppose he could have left out the lecture, but just as you had been working in a "shit district" , who knows what his day or week was like. Get over yourself as if working in a shit district gives some sort of right to people falling down at your feet and worshiping you.

+++++ SCC said: " You could have been sleeping, but you listened to your biological clock." +++++

Hmmm?? No offense SCC but doesn't it work the other way? Here's my example: .....

I don't use an alarm clock, don't need one, my 'Body Clock' is pretty accurate, as I normally get up around 5:00 a.m. (sometimes 4:30 a.m.). And for the last 4 to 5 weeks my 'Body Clock' has been adjusting and I've been getting up later and later, 6:00 am became 'normal'. And when this morning rolled around, though all the clocks read 6:00 a.m., it was really 5:00 a.m.. I was back to normal again.

My bedtimes also slowly increased too, getting tired later & later at night to the point I wasn't getting tired-sleepy to 11:00 p.m. like last night. So tonight I'll start falling asleep back around 10:00 p.m.

------ One thing about these Time Changes -----
Make sure that you and your wife, girl friend, or whomever, don't both adjust the clocks. I worked with a guy who had that happen with the Spring Ahead Change; His wife moved the clocks forward and didn't tell him then, he moved them ahead another hour. That got a few laughs when he tried leaving work at 3:00 p.m.
(he was a bit 'quirky' so him not realizing what his wife did was completely understandable)

If I ever pull over one of our own, as soon as I find out that they're on the job, I say "have a good day". I'm not lecturing anyone.

I got a ticket from a 3200 unit when i was a PPO for crossing a solid white line. The PO went to court and testified against me. Im now in a supervising position. I will not go out of my way to get even because is not worth my time. However, I will not give him a break when he fucks up.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunately there are some very soft cops working LSD. They should remember that coppers back them up for various districts.

To Off Topic and others who support just taking a driver's word that he is a police officer. Be aware there are plenty of police impersonators out there. How often do we hear about officers losing a badge or I.D.? Do you think an impersonator might be using one of these? Maybe that driver has the credentials but is on suspension or was fired in the past (as happened to a fired CFD firefighter who pulled his old i.d. to get out of a ticket but got arrested for impersonating). If you the driver get pulled over, YOU be courteous and provide whatever information that UNIFORMED officer asks of you, because he is trying to be the police and make sure you are the police before he lets you go. Never let anyone go because he says he is the police. I always ask where they work, what their furlo is and even asked other questions that only we would know the answers to (i won't reveal here but the police can figure it out). If I pull you over and you act like an a-hole, expect that same treatment back.

OK, so you reset your watch, your car, microwave, your wall clock and the grandfather clock in the hall if you have one.

But did you change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detector(s). That is real important why wait until you get the beep-beep-beep all night.

Here is one thing you may not have thought of an it is real important especially if you take a winter vacation. Change the batteries in your thermostat. If you leave the house and the batteries give out it could shut down your heating system just when you need it the most. It happened to me last winter. I came home and the house was at 46°. Thankfully there was no damage they must have given out after the worst of the winter.

Stay Safe, don't come home to burst pipes.

Hi CPD Officers,

My name is Ashley and I am with a Chicago-based production company.

First of all, thank you to all CPD Officers and staff for helping make Chicago a better place - we truly appreciate all you do on a daily basis to keep Chicago safe and maintain its reputation as the best city in the world!

We are at the beginning stages of developing a new TV series revolving around the beat cop's favorite eateries: hot dog stands, pizza places, Italian beef and more. We would like to shoot a demo reel within the next two months with active CPD officers.

The shoot will be at a Chicago location, take no more than half a day, and will include good conversation with fellow CPD Officers and a free meal at a popular Chicago cop eatery.

If you are a Chicago policeman interested in this opportunity and available to shoot in your off-hours, please send a response to kpcastingcall@gmail.com with the following details:

- Age
- Number of years in the CPD
- Photo/headshot
- Rank, beat or department location
- Contact information
- Availability

If we find that you are the right fit, we will reach out to you with more details.

Thank you in advance for your interest and thank you once again for all of your hard work!

Best,

Ashley
