Another One Out on "Early Release"

  • A Little Village man has been charged in a shooting Tuesday night that was witnessed by police officers who fired on the gunman and arrested him after he pointed a gun at them, police said.

Hugo Minon, 18, was spotted firing at a 29-year-old man in the 2200 block of South Marshall Boulevard about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He's been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated assault of a police officer, unlawful possession of a firearm and defacing a firearm's identification markings, according to police.

Minon already was on parole for unlawful use of a weapon in an incident that took place a block away in 2013.
Anyone notice the Tribune describes the offender as "A Little Village man...." But had we shot him, no doubt, it'd be oppressed and misunderstood minority youth.

And here he is, on the streets, with another gun, firing at other gang bangers and pointing it at the police. You want reform of the criminal justice system, start with the judges - cops are locking 'em up, judges aren't keeping 'em there and neither is the parole system.

UPDATE: Post corrected for "parole," not "bond."

Just wait for the 1st of the year when the new law kicks in-all witnesses viewing photo arrays have to be video taped. Whatcan be expected? Crime rate sky rocket, arrest rate plummet, low bonds for repeat violent offenders and working property owners dumping houses for below market value. A super-majority of legislators in both houses passed it. I'm still researching but I think Rahm put a Lake County state rep up to it. More to come.

Judges have No Soul you...if it don't affect them or their neighborhoods then it doesn't happen...who cares if the lil gangster shoots up people. Judges or the most to blame for such high crimes all over America. Look at the terrorists threats being made against the police in New York and how the same judge lets another offender out with dropping the charges...who is really profiting here from all this violence.

Dean Angelo Sr, a retired 25yr Chicago Detective is flying in Saturday morning for the Funeral. Thisroundsonme and myself are going to show him around the city afterwards, take him to the memorial in Brooklyn and the 84. Besides the Tree any other suggestions where we might take him. Maybe the Ops center in the palace.

That scumbag Ron Dean was also in it. Dean is a cop killer, for real. He murdered a Chicago cop in the old 014th District lockup when he was 15 or 16, around 1955. True story, it's been posted on SCC before.

Probably because we already picked for 2015 and its there as a reference for the 2016 picks. Remember, we pick furloughs in Nov. and the new FOP books come out in late Dec.

And on that note, I hope they do a better job proof reading next year. Or maybe we'll get our 2016 books with stickers to put over EVERY month instead of Feb and May like for 2015.

i thought parole was a program from the department of corrrections. that has nothing to do with a judge setting a bond, does it? also, take a look at the bail statute. judges are required to set reasonable bonds that secure the defendant's appearance in court. not sure this one is the right case to point to when it comes to low bonds. also look to the board president putting pressure on the whole system to clear out the jails. that's where your ire should be pointed in this situation i would think.

Name the judge and create a list for everyone to remember on the next election. Cook County Judges are for the most part attorneys who could not make it in private practice. And once Burke slates them, they are judges for life. We can change that by voting them out of office. Name the Names.

Talking about liberals.... The Right is not all that good either.... Don't get me wrong, I vote Republican, I don't vote for a guy who is a republican, with democratic values. You got to be red all the way to get my vote.

Any ways, the right wing does not like police just as the liberals. A lot of the police hate started to get worse under republican presidents. I studies this stuff indepth, i don't mix republicans with police hate, only on here I would be willing to do. But take a look at policing from 1972 onward, you will see what I am talking about

Also, do any of you guys think that if you went outside of illinois, say to Texas or Florida, and lateraled down there. Do you think you will be look at as one of the guys? The answer is NO. Culturally, you will be considered a liberal or an asshole to those guys down there. Go back to chicago, Yankee.

Time due and P days. Nothing was said about this during negotiations. Now you can't put in for time due later than 7 days before the day you're taking off and exactly 10 days for a P day. That means if you're RDO in the 8th but you need the 18th off you need to drive into work and put a slip in unless the WS will do it for you. And if you get sick and want to burn a slip you can't. You have to go on the medical. Well, use all 3 days people. Another screwjob to the P/O. Use it to your advantage.

Because witnesses know that the offender gets access to the

To the dummy who asked why crime would go up from witnesses viewing photoarrays being vidoe taped. Read the new law and then look at long term effects. Offenders are eventually realize they will be less likely to be identified because of lack of witness cooperation. Then read the new Dept order on line-up procedures; Detectives hands are going to be tied. Can't re use fillers and every suspect get's their own line-up in cases where there is more than one offender. I can't believe i sm even responding to your dumb question...you must not be LEO.
