Assailant with a Car Shot
"...but he was unarmed!" will be the rallying cry of the morons:
- Chicago Police officers shot a man who allegedly tried to run down an officer with an SUV on Saturday afternoon in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The shooting happened in the 300 block of West 115th Street about 2:45 p.m., according to Larry Merritt, a spokesman for the Independent Police Review Authority.
Gang enforcement officers pulled over a vehicle as part of a narcotics investigation when the man behind the wheel crashed into a police vehicle and tried to strike an officer with his SUV, according to a Chicago Police statement.
Officers then shot the man and he was taken to a hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.
"Dead" is stable, too, but society wasn't that lucky this time. Good job to the involved officers.

Why didn't they just shoot out the tires or the engine?
Gang enforcement nice job. Not being a hater but once the election is over and rahm wins there will allegedly be a new combined unit. Gang enforcement and all area sat teams will fall under a single unit and command. The entire unit will be exclusively at Homan square, uniform and will pretty much just be a sos/tru/msf type unit saturating high crime areas with large amounts of officers and multiple teams. This is rousells baby who is gmacs new chief of staff.. What's old is new again I guess. Will be s big new crime fighting strategy to pitch to the cameras...
Lest we forget, since I came OTJ, twelve (12) Chicago police officers were murdered in the LOD by initially unarmed cop killers.
"Dead" is EXTREMELY stable. Kinda reminds me of the movie "Fletch".... "...The coroner ruled Stanwyk dead....or extremely sleepy...".

ANOTHER "vehicle used as a weapon" attack on police. Followed by the now-standard result.
They be crazy today. What can you do? Gonna have to put those heavy bumper guards on every squad, and two units on every stop to pin the susp. veh. in solid front and back? And issue out Rem. 870s to give a better chance against all these "unarmed" people running around.
Those who say that a car is not a deadly weapon have never been hit by one.
Rev. Sharpton was overheard saying "Vehicular Homicide is a rite of passage for many urban youths."
But community organizer Donte Treadonme said that "having narcotics in your vehicle is a rite of passage in Chicago and shouldn't be a death sentence."

I say shoot the engine and that car is stopped. Shoot the tires and it ain't going anywhere very fast. Nobody care is you shot cars. They get upset when unarmed suspects are shot, especially if they are minorities.
All CPD shootings involving offenders not armed with a firearm are being reviewed by the FBI for possible criminal charges against the officers involved. The FBI has set up an office at 26th and Cal for this purpose.
Expect the FBI to request interviews with everyone involved and any witnesses.

All CPD shootings involving offenders not armed with a firearm are being reviewed by the FBI for possible criminal charges against the officers involved. The FBI has set up an office at 26th and Cal for this purpose.
Expect the FBI to request interviews with everyone involved and any witnesses.

Are correct but the Feds are not looking at shootings involving vehicles as the courts have determined a vehicle is a weapon. They are reviewing not all shootings either or even all unarmed shootings. The shooting they are reviewing is only one shooting we know of and that is the flint farmer case from 007. And no, the fbi doesn't have an office at 26th and cal. They have their own large large office called the Dirksen federal building in downtown Chicago. These officers are fine

Yes it's the rumor with the current gang enforcement commander being in charge of it because he was also the boss of tru back when. I've heard this more frequently over the past few months but I think for now it's only rumor and not as concrete as you think.. Unless u know something the rest of us don't. I also heard the unit would be the old msf 10 hour schedule but who knows

I say....you are wildly uninformed. You cannot be a police officer. I am a=sure there are u-tube videos on this. There is for everything else.
Educate yourself on what happens when you shoot the one ton engine of a car with a tiny bullet. Watch a car run for miles with a blown out tire.
There are tons of "experts" like you out there with an opinion. That's a problem.
