How Did This Happen?
- Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration says it’s investigating how the lightly trafficked block of Ald. Edward Burke got special treatment from city snowplow crews during last week’s massive blizzard.
When I initially asked why Burke’s street was plowed repeatedly even as 19 inches of snow was still falling, the powerful politician’s spokesman told me it was merited because Burke lives on a street that’s “classified as an arterial street — not a side street.”
Ummmm......Clout maybe?
Wasn't Luis Gutierrez's house listed as a vacant lot for years, allowing Luis to avoid property taxes for years before someone in the media actually did some research? Amazing how these "listings" always seem to benefit some crooked politician.

Come on - you're complaining Burke gets a couple of passes with a snow plow for his street? So what?
That's chicken feed.
Why does he need 24/7 police protection? (which is more like butler and valet services) That's where the REAL money is.
Why do we continue to foot the bill for that? THAT should be the question of the day.
This FOP Union never ceases to amaze me. I saw on their website that they endorsed Tom Tunney Alderman for 44th Ward. How pathetic. This Alderman is well known for rubber stamping every vote of Rahm and never voting for expansion of police personnel, he believes we are at sufficient strength. Not to mention, when he got a ticket for talking on cell phone years ago, for a law he co-sponsored to create, he bitched a fit, and had the Commander come directly to him to have it bonded and rescinded. Just check out the Crime In Boystown Website, the entire Lakeview community is not in support of him because of the out of control crime and the serious loss of 100 cops in the 19/23 merge. Remember, Alderman Tom is not the friend of the police, but yet our idiotic FOP union endorses him without doing any research. Where have they been, living under a rock? Something is seriously wrong with the water, the Chicago Fire Union endorsing Rahm! It's like the CPD and CFD unions are in direction opposition to their members who pay their dues. We can't even get honest, decent people who take our sides and support us anymore---OUR OWN F--ING UNIONS! This shows how F-Ked up this world is becoming. We are being sold out by these union board members we elect and its getting worse.
The Media whores should do a thrill investigation to the biggest crook in city council
Mr. Maldonado 26th Ward Alderman.
Off topic, here we go again, Rauner/Rahm's water carriers at the Sun-times allow an attorney from Mayer Brown LLP an opinion piece in Sun-times supporting pension theft statute and telling the Illinois Supreme Court how to do its job. Hey Sun-times , when are you going to offer retired elderly black woman/retired govt employees and other senior citizens the opportunity to write an opinion piece on the pension theft statute in which they are victims you elite racist pigs. BTW, I understand, the lawyer's firm also represents City/Rahm in the Bodyguard lawsuit and have made efforts to keep Rahm from testifying under oath. I wonder what the law firm has billed to the City ? BGA are you awake ?
You hit that right on the head. He owe's us a fortune. This is old news that was never moved upon. Typical democratic BS.
Don't all Aldermen get special perks? It's part of the system. (but not the 36th, he's not the chosen choice of the machine)
Eddie---he's such a trickster.
Rahm house cannot be found on the tax rolls. Didn't his old lady list it as some kind of charity to avoid paying real estate taxes?
Ald. Burke's house....
Who is ever going to buy that thing for any kind of a price that they spent building it?
Backs onto the Orange Line? You couldn't find a better property to build on?
LOL He'll be investigating until the day after the election....then back to business as usual....
try getting out on pulaski from that shopping center next to burkes house, especially south very tough. why not have rear entrance onto that arterial street. that would make sense, oh wait cant drive by that house!!!!
Investigation aka nothing will be done.
When Little Luis was first running for alderman about 30 years ago we had an around the clock guard detail on his house as he supposedly had received threats.
The house was empty, gutted.
Saying Burke pulled strings is like saying Jackie Robinson Chicago Little League team cheated. No way, not here. We have Chicago Values!

That house is a COMPOUND, not a home.
OT: What an embarasement the Jackie Robinson little league team has become. All the guilt ridden media and politicians that were worshipping them like returning Apollo astronauts.
come on, burke gives a guy a big job and the guy takes care of him nothing to see here! If Burke gave any of us a big promotion or job you would take care of him also! What do you think rahms drivers do for him? Shopping, errands, everything that's the way it works!
As I was burning a mule today, I was perusing through the latest FOP newsletter when I noticed an FOP board member who has a column calling out the CFD for not endorsing CPD aldermanic candidates. How about looking in our own backyard. The 10th ward has a CPD officer running against the incumbent John Pope, yet FOP endorses Pope and not one of it's own.
The only reason Rahm is even commenting about it is because it's election time. He wants to come across as a no nonsense guy.
The assholes that run that ward yard, trip over themselves catering to that crook. If he'd let them blow him, thered be a line down the street.
I assure you Rahm's block got the same type of treatment as Eddie's did.
(OT) Radical brownies, nothing like brain washing kids, early thug life against police, listen to the video "radical brownies" racism at an early age, brainless parents! Wonder how soon these children will be in trouble with police and be incarcerated! Bet their family members are in prison already!

clout city
willie Wilson deserves a second look , at least he admits he backed Bruce Rauner for gov
\doesn't want to raise taxes on the working man
he will not close schools
daly couldn't talk either
give the man a teleprompter and he might be our next??
There are more crooks in city hall then there were in the Green when daley was in I guess things won't change.
Someone also needs to look at the property taxes paid on Burkes new home. The standard in Cook County is 2.5% of the new home cost. He is paying way less then that.
If Emanuel is going to investigate it, I'll give Burke a free ride. Nobody wants you, Rahm!
Rahma gets my VOTE!!!!
Shity of ChIraq is Fraud just like JRW
Wait We is your Heart??? He has do nothing wrong You'd do it too if you could Now your going to go after a guy who has done so much for this great city
He is a cop just like us.
Burkes a Champion
I suggest everyone in the city drive by his house and
Dump a bucket if snow out on the street!

6:29 am hit it on the head - BGA seems to be mighty quiet of late. Andy, you out there?

I love how the work "investigating" was coined in this.... more like jaw jacking than investigating
Who lives in Burkes old house on 50th st which was built on a old sro site?

Hey asshat, nice revisionist history. Tunney never asked for any consideration when he got that ticket. The white shirts freaked out all on their own. I know because I was there.
You also must have missed the fact Tunney gave Cozzi a job when he got out of prison knowing full well that it could bite him in the ass.
You also must have missed the city council hearings where he grilled J-Fled and McJersey on police staffing even asking how many uniform checks are cut to get to a real number.
Guess you missed the hearing when he made the pension board and others shit bricks when his questions revealed that at any moment there could be more retirees that working officers.
And then there is the fact that he doesn't want police pensions cut and is willing to consider a casino if proceeds are used to fund pensions until they are fully funded.
And to top it off, he feeds the officers in 019 on holidays and last year sent dinner to 017, too. Going back before he was alderman, he set up a buffet outside Cook County for Mike Ceriale's family and friends.
And if you think "CWB" aka, "Crybabies in Boystown" represents more than a handful of residents with an ax to grind you're delusional.
Tunney will win easily, and you and your crybaby friends will look like the idiots you are.
Ah, good old Mayer Brown, Bill Daley's old law firm, they also successfully handled Rham's residency case and were involved in the pre-employment vetting of Amer Ahmad, one time fugitive, and Rahm's hand picked convicted felon city comptroller. Team Rahm must have this law firm on speed dial as they appear to be his go to legal counsel !

Sort of like Eagles Nest Vrdolyak over southeast in Berchtesgaden-Chicago. It looks like Fast Eddie has an entire block including the former alleys.
"...He is a cop just like us..."
Please report to Random Drug Testing, 3510 S. Michigan Ave.
Take a look at our property tax bills
Different format.
No info on the taxing body amounts.
Just info on pension shortage
Another means to have the public get upset with pensions
The actual fault falls on the government.
What, an alderman with clout enough to declare Mrs O'Leary's fucking cow innocent and he gets the snow plowed in front of his house and people think this is going to be investigated? Is somebody going soft? There will be an investigation if a heavy alderman can't get his block plowed.
If Burke wanted a snow plow parked in front of his house in preparation for snowflakes it would happen. Rahm wanted to dump Burke from the Finance Committee when he became Mayor. Who is still Chairman of the Finance Committee?
Burke is still a fucking kingmaker in this town. He controls the checking account of the City. The Feds would have to have a car truck full of pictures of Burke with 12 year old boys for any investigation to take place and even then probably nothing would happen. They would get the same mope to stand up and take the blame for it who claims to have received threats against the alderman that justifies his bodyguards.
